BEFORE:

"It's time for me to make my move at light," says Emily with a smile. "And, the best way to do that is to claim the scalp of a girl who held the title last year. And, that's EXACTLY what I'm going to do tonight..."

"Emily's definitely a test for me or anyone in this division," admits Taylor. "But, she's a test I'm absolutely going to PASS."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'All Together Now' by Brute Tiger, from the soundtrack of 'The Resident', and here comes the star of that series, former Unified Bantamweight Champion Emily VanCamp!"

McCarthy: "And I can't WAIT until VanCamp beats that talentless toothpick! I can't WAIT!"

O'Dell: "Emily, of course, representing Lookout! Boxing and she's into the ring and helped off with the robe by the Lookout! corner crew and the crowd POPPING for the Canadian beauty in that lemon yellow number she's wearing. And, that's 'Natural' by Imagine Dragons, you hear behind us, and that can only mean that 'The Face', Taylor Hill is on her way to the ring..."

McCarthy: "She's a talentless toothpick who isn't fit to carry my bra around!"

Tess: "Now, calm down Mac and save that for your fight..."

McCarthy: "I'll barely break a SWEAT against that talentless Dancing Hooker! I could fight BOTH of these girls tonight and be fine! I fought TEN girls in one night once!"

Cassie: "And, for once, Mac is NOT making that up..."

McCarthy: "That's right, I'm NOT. And SHUT UP, SCABBO!"

O'Dell: "Hill into the ring without sparing Mac a glance. Taylor helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve and the crowd popping heavily again for the supermodel in that azure number she's wearing..."

McCarthy: "TOOTHPICK! No body at ALL!"

O'Dell: "Aaaannnddd, we're about ready. Time for some picks. Tess favors Taylor. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Talentless TOOTHPICK! VanCamp!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Here we go. Taylor using that length early, trying to set up at range, where she's more than a little comfortable. Emily, however, has other ideas. She's angling past Hill's defenses, getting to middle distances and getting off in combination, forcing Taylor to the defensive..."

Cassie: "This fight is ABSOLUTELY going to be about terms."

O'Dell: "Agreed. If Taylor can keep this fight at gunnery range, VanCamp is going to have a problem, but if the Canadian gets to those middle distances she likes, she's going to be in good shape, and that's exactly what she's doing in this opening stanza. Good combination, Emily, backs up Taylor..."

McCarthy: "GET the talentless toothpick! Knock her OUT!"

O'Dell: "Last thirty seconds of what's been a very good round for Emily. Canadian blonde with another solid combination. Hill backed up again. Taylor snapping out that jab, trying to get some space, but not happening at the moment and there's the bell. No doubt about the first. VanCamp and wide."

Tess: "And Emily takes the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second starts with Hill determined to ENFORCE distance. She's doubling and tripling that jab, moving the feet, keeping VanCamp at range. And, now we're seeing the other half of the equation. Taylor at gunnery range, using that length to set Emily up for hard right hands with that heavy Front Street Jab..."

McCarthy: "IT. IS. A. JAB. EVERYONE. HAS. ONE!"

O'Dell: "Emily trying to angle, but, at the moment, having very little success getting to her spots. Instead, it's the brunette who's taken command now. She's putting punches together and taking the fight to the blonde. Emily eating some REALLY heavy shot right now..."

Tess: "Taking it well, but she doesn't want to KEEP taking it."

O'Dell: "She does not. We're under twenty to go in the second, and Hill continuing to control the proceedings with that left hand. VanCamp backed up by a hard flurry, then backed up again by another and there's the bell. Not close for the second consecutive round, but, this time, the points go to Hill."

Cassie: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Ladies back to work and now it's the Canadian who wants to renegotiate terms. Emily showing head and foot movement, working the angles, trying to get past the American's defenses. Hill keeping her at bay at times, working that left, putting together punches..."

Cassie: "But, Emily getting inside those defenses some..."

O'Dell: "And, when she does, just like in the first round, she's able to take control, get off in combination, toss the brunette to the defensive. Hill working back to range now, lands a nice combination, but Emily angles to a spot and gets off landing a SOLID right hand in there."

Tess: "This is good stuff from both fighters, and no surprise, because they're BOTH former champions."

O'Dell: "Down the stretch and blonde and brunette are both working hard in what's been a very good two-way round. Emily steps to now and digs a little body before Taylor ties her up. Just seconds to go and there's the bell. Very close in the third, but the Canadian takes the points."

McCarthy: "And, VanCamp leads the toothpick 29-28!"

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins the way the third ended, with the fighters working for position, looking to establish range, get favorable terms. Hill working that loooong left jab. Emily angling and ROCKING TAYLOR WITH A RIGHT HAND! Hill staggers and IS DROPPED BY A COMBINATION FROM VANCAMP!"

McCarthy: "YES! I TOLD you all! YES!"

O'Dell: "Blonde quickly to a neutral corner. Hill down on her back. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Taylor sitting up at six. Seven. Eight. Hill to her feet at nine. Ref thinking about it as he gives her the mandatory, but he WAVES ON EMILY! VanCamp quickly to work backing Hill into the ropes..."

Tess: "A minute left in this round..."

O'Dell: "And, it's going to seem like a YEAR to Taylor. Blonde all OVER the brunette now, banging away with both hands, looking to get the younger woman out of there. Ref looking in closely, not going to watch much more of this. Taylor with the guard high, jabbing back in spots, but Emily giving her a thumping. Hill running clock, rolling with. Final seconds ticking away and there's the bell. HUGE round for VanCamp!"

Cassie: "And, Emily leads 39-36...but Taylor is still standing."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "VanCamp right to work in the fifth. She's looking to do more than clean up here. She wants to FINISH up and get Taylor out of there, and the veteran Canadian is doing a good job of it. She's stepping to, backing Hill up, landing plenty of hard shot at the moment..."

Cassie: "Hill's legs aren't there. Not much movement..."

O'Dell: "Making her a stationary target, and Emily knows it. Blonde digging a little body now, trying to bring that guard down, but Taylor keeping it high. Younger woman trying to run clock, give herself a chance to get those long legs back under her. GOOD right from Emily there! That got the ref's attention..."

McCarthy: "That HOMETOWNER should have stopped this fight a LONG time ago!"

O'Dell: "We're down under thirty seconds in the fifth. VanCamp's been dominant, but she hasn't been able to finish. Hill's managed to hold on, and, in fact, she's moving a little better as the final seconds tick off the clock. There's the bell. It's a shutout for Emily."

Tess: "And, while Hill may have survived, she's BURIED on the cards, down 49-45 at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "VanCamp pressing. Hill giving ground, using the jab to create some space. Taylor moving much better now, has definitely shaken off the worst of the damage. But, as Tess points out, she's in quite a hole right now, and, against a talented veteran like Emily, it won't be easy to crawl out of..."

McCarthy: "What does WALMART know about anything?"

O'Dell: "Hill working that left hand, doubling up on it, then following with right hands. She's definitely getting back into a rhythm now. For her part, the blonde still angling, getting to her spots in the middle distances, and getting off in combination. It's good two-way action like we saw in the third."

Tess: "Again, good stuff from both fighters."

O'Dell: "Fifteen seconds to go in the sixth. Sharp exchange there and then another as both fighters look to make a final impression on the judges. GOOD combination from Hill and VanCamp responds with a solid right hand at the bell! Excellent round and a close round. But, Taylor gets the points."

Cassie: "And cuts Emily's lead to 58-55."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Ladies back at it and HILL STAGGERS VANCAMP WITH A RIGHT HAND! Right off the bell, Taylor lands a BEAUTY of a one-two and Emily is in TROUBLE! Hill now letting the hands go as the blonde backs and covers and is quickly pinned to the cables..."

Cassie: "With a TON of time for Taylor to operate..."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. Hill CARPET BOMBING the blonde now, banging away with both hands. Emily in a tight earmuff and a quarter crouch, blocking punches, moving the head, managing to avoid some of the shell, but the volume is such that plenty is getting through..."

McCarthy: "That hometown ref had better NOT stop this..."

O'Dell: "He's looking in closely, but VanCamp doing enough to keep him at bay, playing defense, jabbing back here and there, showing all her veteran skills, and she's NEEDS them all, because Hill is going for the kill. Just ten seconds left. GOOD right from Taylor, but VanCamp going to ride it out. There's the bell. Shutout, Hill."

Tess: "But, Emily not only survives, she still leads 67-65."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Hill determined to finish this thing. Brunette walking the blonde down behind the jab. Emily backing and covering, countering in spots, looking to set some traps for the American. But, Hill playing this soundly. She's setting up her punches, taking her time..."

Tess: "And putting that length to very good use..."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. She's extending on everything and committing on just ABOUT everything at the moment, while Emily plays for time and space and GETS DROPPED! A BOOMING overhand right from Hill sends VANCAMP CRASHING TO HER BACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING..."

Cassie: "Set that up PERFECTLY with the left, snapped the head back and dropped that right into the opening behind the gloves!"

O'Dell: "Hill wastes no time getting to a neutral corner. Referee's count at three. Four. Five. VanCamp rolling to her belly, reaching for the bottom rope at six. Seven. Emily trying to pull herself up at eight. Nine. TEN! VanCamp still on her knees at the ropes as the count passes her by and it's OVER! And your winner by KO8 is 'The Face', Taylor Hill!"

McCarthy: "LUCKY! And that ref was TERRIBLE!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Taylor Hill, and, Taylor, that was a WAR..."

Taylor (nodding): "No doubt about it. She's as good as anybody I've been in with, and I've been in with the cream of this division. But, tonight, I was a LITTLE bit better."

Tess: "Obviously, you've got big plans for 2022..."

Taylor (smiling): "The biggest. I want those lightweight belts back. And, I might have some OTHER titles in my sights, too!"
