BEFORE: The League of Mighty Women stable is doing a fine job promoting new wave of English talent and there's every chance Lily James becomes a true championship contender in the foreseeable future. The Surrey brunette is ready to move up the ladder and vows to beat the living daylights out of former champion Odette Yustman who has fallen on hard times lately and keeps dropping fights to newcomers on the rise. Some pundits claim age has caught up to Odette and she no longer has the mobility & strenght required to win these gruesome battles against younger opposition on a regular basis.
Odette Yustman wears a black bikini set & red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Lily James wears a red bikini set & silver gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
Lily hopes to get an early jabbing start but finds the American in much aggressive approach than she anticipated and gets tackled to the body with Odette working some heavy slaps to punish her in confident fashion. The older brunette barges the Brit in the chest as well and moves to browse the uppercut route moments later. She catches Lily on the chin and drops her into coverage before dropping a huge left hook on the eye. Ugh! Lily stumbles back to the ropes and has to bail out of trouble in hectic fashion which allows Yustman to track her around the area until another left hook on the eye pins James onto the turnbuckle just before the bell.
Round 2:
Another quick pounce from the Lioness brunette but Lily has it covered this time and she responds with a solid overhand swing to trigger a steady back & forth exchange in the center of the ring. Both women dish out impressive shots but it's Lily who enjoys the better spell when she cuts Odette across the nasal ridge and bombs her on each temple thereafter. Yustman isn't quick enough to escape the heat through her trademark defense and eats more shots up the middle as James flies in with a slugging edge and buries the older brunette behind a desperate earmuff in the neutral corner. She tries to unload more power when she works a high-tempo uppercut drill but Odette survives the late flurry in tact.
Round 3:
Both women really get behind their shots now and Odette finds a lucky break when she pings the younger brunette in the chest and tackles her with more uppercuts on target. Lily refuses to back off from the phone booth jam but finds the American's punches a little too hot to handle and spins to the side while Odette rattles her with a scything cross on the mouth. Ugh! That punch only fuels Lily's response but she shoots over Yustman's head and has to soak up more uppercut menace as the former champion cleans up shop and bumps the younger brunette onto the ropes where she bangs her with more body shots to claim the round by a wide margin.
Round 4:
Lily has to step into her shots more often now as she triggers another back & forth tussle which meets a stubborn resistance from the older brunette. Odette believes she can outwork the British prospect but falls to another cut on the left cheek that increases the shear volume of Lily's punches. Huh! The unbeaten actress racks up a vicious rally from both flanks to shut Yustman down on the spot and bumps into her midsection thereafter to keep the hot pace going. Odette trips back to the corner and struggles to showcase her bendy defense while James bangs her out in style and drops into loud spasms at the bell. Ugh! One nasty cut under the left eye forces the LCA cutmen into serious work during the break.
Round 5:
Another wild swing from the younger brunette chops Odette's high-guard aside early in the fifth and the former champion gets swept by an uppercut combo before Lily slams a left hook on the eye that sinks Yustman on jelly knees. Uh-oh! She tries to swing back at the British foe but cuts thin air and gets SMOKED by a brutal right hook on the jaw that SENDS HER CRASHING DOWN on her back moments later. Lily punches the air in delight and struts back to her corner while the ref issues a very slow count but Odette simply doesn't have the strenght to rise again. She is OUT!! KO5 Lily James!!!
AFTER: Another victory for the exciting LMW prospect who appears to be one to really watch out for in the foreseeable future. Meanwhile Odette has truly run into a wall lately and might serve as a benchmark opponent for any aspiring upstart going forward. LCA coach Eva Mendes believes she can still turn the Los Angeles native around but there isn't much faith in those words and BLONDE! Magazine openly calls out the Lionesses to promote Kelly Rohrbach or Joy Corrigan as the new lightweight leaders of the stable.
