Tahnee Atkinson vs Adrianne Palicki

Before: Tahnee clearly gearing up for a title run, has already checked off fighters from both the champ and challenger’s stables, now she’s doing her best to keep her name in the title picture. But dismissing the “Chin-Checker” as low-hanging fruit has never been a way to find yourself with the belts around your waist, as Courtney Tailor found out last year!

R1: Tahnee's here to fight – backing Adrianne up and scoring points this round. Atkinson getting a firm right hand to chin, using her jab to stabilize Palicki - blonde leaning back to take the edge off it, but clipped nonetheless. Tahnee closing distance, licking long-armed wallop to pale waist and ribs - Aussie with a distinctive way of lifting her punches into Adrianne, letting glove linger on flesh for a moment to really sink it in. Palicki fighting off the ropes, gloves at temples, supple and relaxed - but Atkinson stroking flanks and breadbasket to good effect. Down the stretch, Tahnee even brazen enough to start nudging Adrianne with the extended left elbow - jostling and propping her - blonde outraged at the bullying posture taken by the brunette this round - some shoving and glaring after the bell as blonde won't stand for it.

R2: Adrianne's committing to footwork - assessing legs as the best way to minimize Tahnee's strengths. Palicki dancing left, showing the jab tummy and eyes, feinting, then coming in - mixing in the odd lead right hand. Atkinson turning, weight on her back foot - she's parrying the jab up top, but taking the one in the gut - those things are energy leeches and both women know it. Tahnee occasionally pounding out a hard single jab, Adrianne shying away from it, batting it away with her right hand, showing more than a little respect, but firmly in control

R3: Adrianne’s made her measurements--she’s gauged Tahnee’s reach, speed of either hand, balance--she’s ready to punch. Palicki still stepping out and around, but going flat footed more often, left shoulder pointed at Atkinson, right cocked at the chest, left hand low and loose, blonde supple and menacing as Tahnee tries to inch closer and get off with right hands. Midway through, Adrianne likes what she sees, reloads the right and stabs it at Atkinson’s mouth, retracting the punch like it’s on a spring, then bopping back half a step to lash the hook . Tahnee stumbling forward, losing composure, Adrianne able to pivot and guide her face first onto the ropes, then move in to feast. Palicki letting her hands go--ripping spank on the waist has Atkinson groaning forward and HELLO: blonde helps herself to those mouthwatering jugs as the crowd roars to its feet and salutes. Tahnee blubbering, finally draping herself and clinching. Adrianne shoulder-butting the mouth shrugs her off and stays on her girl, batting at the waist, slicing tidy rights to the face as Atkinson slumps and soaks at the bell.

R4: Tahnee looking to close, but Adrianne's stiff-jabbing her foe to a halt, then cleaning up with rangy right crosses to spook brunette into regrouping. Pallicki able to step forward, loosening up a bit, exchange of clubbing rights and lefts midring sees her get the better of it, forcing another withdrawal from Atkinson. Tahnee misjudges distance - thinks she's out of range: one long steps brings Adrianne close; slinging right slams to a halt on left side of jaw, shaking her; follow-on rangy hook pounds palm-down to point of chin and ATKINSON GOES DOWN! Clean up hook drops Tahnee to her back, ref shoos Adrianne away and starts the count. Shaky 8, Atkinson, she's a woozy beauty, but forming-up dukes-at-brows and stepping forward off the ropes. Adrianne grinning, waiting in her stance; flashing the jab to Tahnee's guard, then sticking it down into belly. Atkinson paws a right out of her guard, but Pallicki's waiting for it, triggering a swift right cross that glances hard off cheekbone. Tahnee covers up in a hurry: Pallicki unleashes a rangy hook thick to ribs...stays on that front (left) leg while reloading...cranks an extra, rising left hook up into Aussie breadbasket. Gorgeous body shots have Tahnee stooping forward hurrrrrt...Pallicki has time to step back while extending left hand to nudge at guard, then bending in to strap a vicious sidearm right to flank. Atkinson grimacing, opening up to slug left/right but there's no steam: brunette fights off the TKO as the bell sounds to save her, Pallicki struts away nodding head aggressively while holding her hands up in triumph.

R5: Tahnee can’t close, forced to jab with the jabber, just finding Adrianne in the chest, blonde return fire finding her and LANDING THE RIGHT CROSS! Atkinson leaning forward, Palicki driving through the chin - Aussie surprised to be caught, then staggering - she's hurt! Adrianne patient on follow up, hopping forward, laying out her left jab thick to paint the target, humming home right hands over the top as Tahnee stumbles to the ropes. Atkinson covering up, going to the torso roll again, blonde adjusts and shoots a robust swinging hook in the flank, keeping that right hand tight to the cheek as she moves her hips through the blow. Tahnee dazed, cringing at the body shot - veteran extends to work on guard and ATKINSON LIGHTS HER UP! Crisp left uppercut finds Palicki's chin, snaps her head back - she's stupefied, leaning forward, helpless and open. Tahnee with a sliding step to the right, backhanding the jab at Adrianne just to measure and leaning into a SLOBBERKNOCKER right on the chin SENDING BLONDE TO THE CANVAS!!! Bell sounds to save her, but Atkinson steals the round with late power!

R6: Tahnee dragging a sumptuous right roundhouse into Adrianne’s waist to renew the offensive. It’s brunette driving on blonde--getting low, bashing away at torso and tummy. Palicki gurgling--pushing heels of her hands onto Atkinson’s shoulders to ward her off--but now Bossie Aussie won’t be pushed off. Adrianne growing stiff, sluggish--pushing on Tahnee or covering up face-in-gloves as she beats her to the body. Slow, wandering pace--Palicki retreating, Atkinson walking her down. Thudding ham hands continue to hump off ribs, and waist until finally, Adrianne sinks to one knee. it’s over--Palicki crying, crippled, unable to rise again. Tahnee glancing down, making sure of Adrianne, then strutting past with a relieved sigh. KO6 in gut wrenching fashion: Tahnee Atkinson.

After: Withering body attack among the most potent weapons at Tahnee’s disposal. Adrianne grimacing as her ribs are tensered up in-ring: creeping paralysis simply overwhelmed veteran blonde--Palicki just unable to adjust before it was too late.
