VIX/LIONESS STABLE WAR 2022

3. Megan Fox vs Minka Kelly II

Megan:

BEFORE:
These two have fought before, back when Megan Fox was just starting out as a babied fighter. Now, Fox is a Hall-of-Famer in her own right, and Minka is set to enter the same league as her once she manages to cross the required threshold of wins.

“If someone like Megan can do it, I don’t see why I can’t,” Minka says earlier during the press conference. “I already beat her once before - she wasn’t so tough back then. And becoming a Hall-of-famer doesn’t magically make you hit harder. It’s all about who deserves to be in, and who doesn’t.”

Megan obviously not happy at hearing those words, the former Flyweight champion brushing off the insult with a smile and push of her long dark hair back. “Someone’s clearly jealous,” she says, drawing laughs. “Honestly, Minka should have entered the Hall before me. There, I said it. She’s had one hell of a career, and the only reason why she hasn’t been accepted yet is due to those ridiculous requirements. Make no mistake, though. I ain’t about to help her case with my actions tonight. Well, my heart wants her in there, my fists are going to do everything in their power to stop her.”

Ladies square off later at the podium, fists cocked to chins and bodies looking tight in their respective cocktail dresses. They separate without incident, though both women refuse to shake each other’s hand at the last moment, drawing loud gasps from the audience.

Hours later, we’re back in the arena and ready to go ten rounds of Bantamweight action. Fox has dressed down to a black bikini top and hot denim short shorts, raising red gloves to the crowd at the sound of her name. Minka’s dressed more modestly for someone older, wearing a red sports bra and long black tights. She’s wearing white gloves for tonight’s contest.

The score’s currently tied at the moment between the Vixens and Lionesses, so both ladies are eager to upset the balance. Referee waves for the opening bell and HERE WE GO!

ROUND 1:
Sluggish start as ladies circle each other with a combined smirk: Megan testing out her jab early as Minka’s height advantage and bigger bulk make her a most dangerous opponent indeed if she manages to get her hands on the Vixen. Minka knows this well, and that’s why she chooses to start with somewhat wild overhand swings directed at Megan’s head, hoping for a quick KO victory. For now, Megan’s too fresh to get caught in that trap, however, easily sidestepping the attacks and then landing potshots off the body and arms. Each time, Minka winces and grunts, but nothing really is hurting her so far, and the round ends with a clear victory for Fox’s corner.

ROUND 2:
Minka bides her time, taking punishment to her guard before dishing it out back in the form of snap jabs straight to Megan’s face, each time snapping the Hollywood actress’ chin backwards and leaving her stunned in place. Fox is looking amateurish by the time the first minute rolls by, unable to defend herself against Minka’s swift counterattack, and what’s worst, her own punches landing all over but those parts that really pay off: mainly, the stomach and chin, which leaves Megan breathing hard near the end of the round and dying for the bell to grant her a breather. But not before Minka sinks another combo into her face and body, pushing her back towards the corner for now.

ROUND 3:
Round 3 is basically the same strategy employed by the Lioness, who uses the early energy to harass Megan’s position with punches. Fox is having trouble defending against such a tirade of punches, and starts taking leather shots to her body and face. Twice in a row now that the Vixen is getting pushed around the ring, and no matter how much focus she employs to try and evade these attacks, Kelly surprises her with a powerful overhand out of nowhere or a hook bashed across the torso. All Fox can do is shoot lefts and rights towards her face, once or twice pushing that chin to the side or nose into her face. But Minka’s enthusiasm is still fresh in these early rounds.

ROUND 4:
Still, the potential Hall-of-famer begins to see signs of wear-and-tear. Fourth round starts a little more slowly, as Megan meets her close to the corner and the two ladies trade jabs. Fox, however, is finding it a little easier to dodge her jabs and hooks towards her head, slowly paying her back with dingin’ punches off her torso and chin. Minka’s slowing down, much to the dismay of the Lioness team, which sees the two ladies CLASH in the center in a hail or sudden fists flying in at each other, but Fox winning out the exchange when she dodges under a hook and then slams a fist up into her jawline to daze her. Minka looks hurt but is still standing as she backs away into the ropes, and the bell saves her from going down this time.

ROUND 5:
Fox looks more and more cocky as these rounds roll past. She’s got a lot of lost rounds to make up for, however, as the two ladies circle in for round five. Minka tries to surprise Fox with a sudden jab-hook combo but it misses by a margin. Fox slips her head to the side before bashing her foe to the side of the ear, which brings Kelly her own world of hurt. Just as it looks like Minka’s about to go spinning into the ropes once more, however, as she returns with a right hand that CATCHES Megan right as the Vixen leaps in after her - KAPOW!! Fox gets STUNNED to the spot, her head spun to the side with the rest of her body following suit - the poor Vixen gets rocked by another left hand to the nose and a hook to the cheek, but they’re not needed! DOWN FOX GOES, absolutely knocked off her feet silly! It’s a mid-fight KNOCKDOWN for Minka Kelly!

The Lioness legend pumps her hands in the air, looking smug at this latest result. Without saying a word, she circles back to the neutral corner to catch her breath and reevaluate. As expected, Megan is already pushing herself off her chest, slowly but surely rising back to all fours, and then one knee at a time. This ain’t over, and the Lioness knows it! Megan recovers by the count of 8, looking a little shaken by the ropes but otherwise trying to reassure the referee that she’s good to go.

ROUND 6:
Sixth round and what would have been a closer for the Lioness quickly turns into the opposite: Minka at first rushing in like a burning comet, looking to wrap things up. Management probably also fears for the ageing starlet’s longevity in the ring, and doesn’t want this match to become a war of attrition. Fox, however, weathers the onslaught like a former champ, holding onto her head with both arms locked over her face to protect, then her ground as Minka sinks a hook into her body just above the waistline but only succeeds in winding the Vixen slightly. Fox battles her way back into contention, in the final minute alone repaying Minka blow for blow: a series of overhand shots that land on either temple, already throwing her backwards, before Fox tucks more gloves in between and around her wilting arms to prod her to the tummy. Minka is breathing hard at the bell, almost getting herself trapped on the ropes in those final seconds there.

ROUND 7:
Still, the prospective Hall-of-famer ain’t going down without a fight. Bell rings and it’s the first match of the evening to go to the seventh round. Both corners are cheering their respective girls on here as the winner places a permanent stake in the sand to determine the rest of this stable war. But as Kelly makes a last push to KO Fox, her swings are being avoided by the sultry Vixen, who display much agility for someone close to pushing 40. Instead, Fox slaps a hook across her face to earn her a dull grunt, narrowly dodging pass a return uppercut from Minka before returning the favour with a shot drilled up into her solar plexus. Minka gets bent over in half with a hnngggh, almost powerless to stop the follow-up HOOK TO THE CHIN that sends her spiraling down to the canvas! What a beautiful KNOCKDOWN from Megan Fox, who employed a mixture of power and agility this fight to score the comeback win! Minka is absolutely laid out onto her back, making almost no move to get off the canvas or crawl towards the ropes! Referee gives her the full 10-count to recover and it still ain’t no use! There’s the bell and it looks like Kelly will have a little longer to wait to get into the Hall!

Official Decision: Megan Fox defeats Minka Kelly via KO7!

AFTER:
“Still think she totally deserves to be in there,” Fox says post-fight with a nod.

Earlier on, in the immediate aftermath, she’d taken the time to check on Kelly to make sure she was alright. The two women shared a brief hug and words of encouragement while Kelly was still being treated by the medical team.

“She’s been here far longer than I have. And who knows, maybe when she does cross over and gets inducted, we’ll have our rubber match, one Hall-of-famer to another.”
