2. Luisana Lopilato vs Keira Knightley

BEFORE:
“Keira’s a well-rounded fighter - I’ve got to be careful in there tonight,” Luisa says with a nod and a smile. “I ended 2021 with a mixed bag of results, but I’m already looking forward to kicking ass this year, starting with Keira.”

A mixed bag is definitely accurate, with Luisa faring better against free agents in the league and constantly coming up short whenever a named fighter like Rachel McAdams gets in the same ring as her. Keira Knightley acknowledges as much, pursing her lips from across the room before responding:

“All respect to everything Luisana has done, but she doesn’t strike me as a dangerous opponent,” Keira says next from her seat at the table. “She hasn’t fared well against more well-known personalities, and I’m hoping we’ll see the same result at the end of tonight.”

Ladies square off at the podium and even though both of them may be turning 40 soon, they still look dangerous and eager, their fists raised and cocked as the cameras flash. Keira’s one-inch height advantage is negated by Luisa’s slightly bulkier figure, which would explain why neither woman looks worried.

Hours later, Knightley enters the arena to loud cheers from the crowd. She’s clearly the more well-known name tonight, as the British starlet waves to the crowd, blowing kisses, whilst dressed in a simple black sports bra and white boxing trunks. This may be a VIX event but Luisa comes into the room next, beaming widely at the equally warm welcome as a member of the Away team. The Vixen is wearing a light pink bra-and-briefs set, her blonde hair hanging loose and curly over her shoulders.

Referee gets the nods from both corners - HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Some quick footwork from Knightley gives Luisa trouble as the leaner Brit skirts the ring and pummels shots into the other girl's face repeatedly. Luisa may only be one-inch shorter but she's been sporting more muscle and bulk recently, with slower movements so far. Or it could be Keira's renewed insistence on winning? Either way, the Brit looks like dynamite, sending jabs into Lisa's face and then leaping out of the way of incoming fire. Lopilato is barely hitting back till the very last minute, where she manages to close distance and wail away on Knightley's arms, and a hook slammed into the side tummy. Not the best opening for the Vixen, who suffers a wide loss for the first bell.

ROUND 2:
Keira looks to maintain her momentum as she scatters inwards once more. Luisa makes it more difficult for her to land her jabs this time, however, ripping lefts and rights back into her vicinity and actually crunching a right cross into the lips at one point to deliver some payback. Knightley experiences the blonde's power firsthand, narrowly dodging out of the way of another hook to the head before regrouping at a safer distance. So far, so good for the Vixen, who chases her attacker off and keeps Keira at bay for the remainder of the round. Knightley attempts a comeback in the final minute but it's no use, with her combos landing on the arms and each volley to the body returned by Luisa with a hook aimed high instead.

ROUND 3:
Knightley not giving up her lead so easily, however. She stays behind for the third round, comfortably shooting punches into Luisa’s face again from behind an agile guard. Luisa still makes the mistake of trying to get in close to brawl, but it’s difficult when your opponent is lean and mean and doesn’t like to be seen. Knightley, still moving fast for her age, been keeping her stamina up in the gym as she dodges another flying hook to the face and then sinks a one-two combo into Lopilato’s lips to drive her offence off target again. Luisana getting tired of her head shoved back, trying to put more and more power into her shots but they’re useless if they aren’t landing. Last minute and both ladies get into a mini-brawl near the ropes, with Knightley moving too slow to get out of the way in time and Luisa seizing the chance to pummel several shots into her abs, hoping to pin her down and send her to the canvas. No dice, however, as the Brit once more slips off to the side, leaving the Argentinian blonde breathing hard at the bell.

ROUND 4:
Keira so far with a clean lead but it’s also clear she’s slowing down significantly. Ladies get into repeated CLASHES in the center, rippling hooks into each other's arms and body before Keira scored with a snap uppercut to the jawline, which dazzles Lopilato for a moment. The brave Vixen keeps her head down and arms up, however, and takes the follow-up blows to her torso like a champ. Keira tries to hammer home another but the hook misses by a hair, and Lopilato spends the rest of the round leading her back by that right jab. Keira edges out the round, we think, though Luisa is fast catching up.

ROUND 5:
Keira takes a pounding this time, her early blitz attack blunted with Luisana absorbs and dodges before ramming a right cross into her mouth to kick things off. Keira staggered with a grunt but keeps moving for now, narrowly dodging another blitz combo aimed for her chin but unable to avoid the battering rams to her torso as Lopilato wades in close and hammers away down below! Knightley with no answer for now, doing her best to get away and regroup. Looks like this might be another fight that goes past the fifth round, as Luisa tries to pin Kiera in a corner but eats shots to her face instead, with Keira showing she's still more than alive.

ROUND 6:
Early skirmish in the middle as both ladies got within range at the same time and a FLURRY of lefts and rights erupts in tandem! These two want the win and the only way to secure it is to get past the other woman in front of them!! Keira's firing her combos and ducking as best she can, but Luisa RETURNS with big and bigger bombs to her arms and side of the head, those hooks landing and rocking the Brit from side to side!! And Knightley gets staggered by another whoosh across her face! She spins on her heels, goes stumbling into the nearby ropes with her mouth hanging open!! AND HERE LUISA COMES, chugging gloves into her tummy before blasting Keira's head sky-high over the ropes! There's the spray of spitting as Keira GOES DOWN!! Luisana celebrates with a twirl and wave of her hands in the air, and the referee is trying to give Knightley the full ten counts to rise back up. But it’s no use! Knightley hangs her head on all fours, looking worn and spent! That’s it! There’s the bell and IT’S OVER!

Official Decision: Luisana Lopilato defeats Keira Knightley via KO6!

AFTER:
"Excited for what comes next!” Luisana says with a smile. “I have a feeling that this year will be a good year for me!”

Keira is still flat on her back as the VIX entourage make their rounds about the ring, before Luisa leaves without making contact. Her conquest of the Crucible Theatre complete, Lopilato leaves with the first win of the year.
