Intro:
Main event time here in Melbourne's Kooyong Stadium, the fourth round of the Diamond Boxing Tournament ends with Gemma Atkinson (0-3) hoping to upset the Aussies by beating one of their own in Robyn Lawley (3-0), who continues to show why she was the pre-tournament favourite.

Before the clash both sat in front of a camera at the Green and Gold magazine offices to talk about the fight, Gemma Atkinson speaks in wearing a blue sports bra and blue denim jeans to go with her white trainers, she nods to Sarah before she takes a seat, a serious look on her face.

She is asked about if the pressure of being a former champion in this tournament is playing on her mind at all, Gemma shakes her head no, then adds "I knew my form hasn't exactly been great, I came into this tournament wanting to prove I still am an elite boxer, I know that hasn't happened but I have been giving these favourites a hard time, so I am not writing myself off finishing strong" gripping the chair arms with both her hands to show her tenseness.

Asked about Robyn, Gemma tells Sarah "she certainly has been impressive so far, when you have her height, power and even speed, you are going to be a handful for anyone, I know I have the speed and power to get to her though, she isn't some machine that can't be stopped, in fact last I checked I'm the one whose the former champion, while she has only recently found her form" a grin forming on her face, maybe giving herself confidence at that thought.

Robyn meanwhile when she is in the hot seat wears a tanned dress with black heels, sharing a few jokes with Sarah about the Ashes, asking Sarah "I don't get any trophy for defending our honour on home soil against the English so I?" Winking as Sarah chuckles with her.

Once she gets serious, Robyn says "I'll be honest I don't know why but I thought me and Gemma had fought before, all the years we've been in the FCBA together and not even a bad word exchanged, mind I should say I do respect her, the drive she has had over the past decade has been something to watch in awe, not many work as hard as she does outside the ring, problem is all that work means not a thing if you can't win, last I checked Gemma couldn't buy a win, so I am not sweating her one bit, this is my house and my tournament" Sarah and Robyn sharing an awkward hug given the height difference, Sarah admitting that she is rooting for Lawley, nobody show Gemma that bit!

Fight night, onto the stage comes Gemma first with her coach Denise Lewis behind her, there's mostly boos for her as she enters hostile territory, Gemma wearing a red bikini with matching gloves, hair braided as she steps into the ring, nodding to Denise as she looks focused to get on her first tournament win in the hardest way.

Cheers roar out as Robyn appears on the stage, flexing her arms with a cheeky grin, Gena Lee Nolin following her as Robyn high fives several in the front row at ringside, wearing a green bikini, green gloves with gold thumbs, hair tied into a braid as she gets into the ring, giving the crowd a yell of "Aussie! Oz! Oz!" To a loud cheer.

All the fun games over now, both come to the center of the ring for the final instructions to be told by the referee, intense looks on both fighters faces as they stare each other down, a thud of their gloves leads to a crack of leather, turning to their corners as the Robyn chants get louder, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
"Ding!" Out the gates they come with Gemma forcing the issue right away, driving to the inside to exchange with the crowd favourite, drilling mostly to the body of Lawley, who clips several punches around the side of Atkinson's head, they end up clinched up as Robyn tries to manhandle Gemma back to the ropes, both nearly tripping up as Gemma hooks the left leg of the model with her right, referee warning both to keep it clean.

Resuming in the second minute, Robyn starts to land some more clean leather into the face of Gemma, she can't quite land her power punches as the English fighter is moving her upper body enough to dodge and counter strike, a right landing across the chin of Robyn, forcing the Aussie to back off as the crowd noise dies a little.

Less then a minute to go with Gemma showing real fire tonight, drilling in punches through the mitts of her opponent, keeping Robyn from getting a real solid base, with less then twenty seconds to go Gemma gets her first real taste of Robyn's power as a left cross opens her up to a straight that knocks her back a step, a follow up right hook turns Gemma's head just before the bell, a nod of respect from both women as they pass each other to head to their stools.

Round 2:
Game plan is clear from Gemma, keep Robyn moving and wear her down with body shots as they fight around the ring, Gemma moving to the inside to work the body, then moving back out when the heat starts to come her way, crowd rallying behind Lawley as they see her struggle to really pin down Gemma.

That changes though when Robyn lands a crisp double jab into the top of Gemma's head, a straight follows to knock back the smaller woman towards the ropes, Robyn using her left forearm to push back Gemma towards the ropes, crowding her with short cross punches, Gemma fighting hard but can't load up as much with her lack of room.

The mood of Atkinson certainly won't improve when an uppercut lands on her chin, snapping her head back as the crowd roar, Gemma needing to hold onto Robyn, who uses her size advantage to lean on her, pressing Gemma against the ropes, the referee breaks them up but it isn't long till the bell rings, Robyn yelling out "come on!" As she returns to her corner, firing up the crowd as Gemma stares daggers at her.

Round 3:
Gemma trying to be more forceful again like the first round, digging more punches in close range after dipping under a jab to get inside, Robyn giving her a shove back before landing a one-two combo into the face of Gemma, both boxing at midrange as they try to force the issue.

Crouching under a straight, Gemma lands an uppercut to knock back the model, Robyn finding herself driven into a corner as Gemma bangs away at the body and chest of Lawley, who has to push off Gemma to her face, moving away from the ropes as Gemma wants to keep the heat on her, both stinging the others face as Robyn is still near the ropes.

A double jab catches Gemma to the top of the head, Robyn pressing back Atkinson with a one-two square into her face, now the hooks coming again from Lawley, Gemma needing to try to use her footwork to get out of trouble, Robyn hunting down the English fighter, the round comes to an end with Gemma tapping her gloves together as she jogs back to her corner, Robyn knowing she is in a fight tonight, Gemma not going to give her an easy homecoming.

Round 4:
Trading stiff jabs with both fighters looking to drive each other back early on, Gemma lands more good shots on the inside, getting pushed back by Robyn, with Lawley landing a left cross to the cheek of Gemma with a straight into her nose, Gemma being forced back to the outside part of the ring.

Robyn now forcing the issue, landing several stiff punches square through the guard of Gemma, who again is gamely trying to fire back but is being out muscled by the bigger woman, a cut forms on her bottom lip from a short right cross, a left hook turns Gemma's head the other way as she has to hold onto Lawley to slow her down.

Only thirty seconds to go, Gemma trading with Robyn at midrange, trying to make the Aussie respect her, problem is those big punches from Robyn seem to be doing more damage then what Gemma is throwing back, at the bell Robyn holds her arms in the air as she stares down Gemma, letting her know who owns this roost, Gemma shaking her head with an annoyed look, though she had to have known this wasn't going to be an easy fight herself.

Round 5:
The atmosphere is electric as Robyn's fans seem to have gotten louder, Gemma bravely trying to keep bringing the fight to Robyn, she is getting caught more coming in, leading to a right hook on her temple buckling her legs to a roar from the crowd.

Smacking back Gemma now as she starts to really turn on the jets, Robyn is beating Gemma, who tries to cover up but her guard is being sliced through, ANOTHER RIGHT HOOK WOBBLES GEMMA BEFORE AN UPPERCUT LANDS FLUSH, GEMMA COLLAPSES TO THE CANVAS FACE FIRST! REFEREE CHECKS AND DOESN'T BOTHER TO COUNT!

Winner Robyn Lawley KO Round 5

After:
A ringside doctor rushes into the ring to check on Gemma as Robyn jogs to her corner and gives a roar to the crowd, it certainly looks like "Godzilla" struck tonight looking at the wreckage of Gemma Atkinson, who comes around with smelling salts still with a glassy look.

Gemma is taken out the ring on a stretcher so she can be checked over in the medical area, she was forcing the fight and ended up getting badly hurt by the raw power of Lawley, who might have just scored one of the knockouts of the year the way Gemma crumbled under her power, another bitter loss for the former champion, who will be looking forwards to fighting those around her in the tournament rankings to at least try to get wins on the board.

The winner meanwhile has her gloves taken off, wiped down of sweat and a drink of water, she places a towel over her shoulders as she heads to the center of the ring for the final result to be announced, right arm being raised to a raucous reaction from the crowd, making Lawley smile from ear to ear, so happy to have done her country proud as Australia wins against England again!

Robyn steps out the ring to do a lap of honour giving out high fives, she even loses herself for a moment as she takes a drink of beer from a can and pours some over her head in celebration, Gena grinning as she watches this, knowing how much it means to Robyn this night.

When they walk up the aisle together, Gena jokes that she hopes Robyn won't be hungover for the plane ride home to America, Robyn grinning as she makes no promises, Robyn stops at the top of the aisle to raise her arms one last time to a loud cheer, as "Godzilla" keeps her tournament hopes alive as she rampages through another opponent.
