Jennifer Hawkins vs Rachael Finch

BEFORE: Two former lightweight champions meet on the V8 Supercars finale undercard and while both Jennifer Hawkins and Rachael Finch might be past their prime, they can still sell out any boxing venue in Australia as evident by the number of patrons hanging around the Adelaide streets paddock. In fact Finch claims she's anything but past her prime and thinks she's been overlooked by her peers due to the simple fact she's much better than most of them! Green & Gold's Sarah Cumming isn't so quick to praise the Queensland brunette who was last seen in the ring taking a double loss to Yasmin Verheijen & Jessica Clements before the COVID pandemic. Meanwhile Hawkins is excited to get another shot and claims Finch has to deal with all the pressure on top of being an overrated performer to begin with!

Jennifer Hawkins wears a yellow bikini set & red gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a curled ponytail. Rachael Finch wears a red bikini set & silver gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a half-up ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Jennifer gets on with some hard shots to open this contest but Rachael wants to find immediate success herself and clashes with the blonde in true slugging fashion which forces the older model into even more action. She matches the brunette's delivery and smacks her with a couple of vicious hooks on the temple before drilling a left hook on the jaw. Ugh! Rachael gets stunned by that effort and bides her time in mid-distance thereafter while Hawkins continues to swing around the area and lands more shots into the reeling brunette's face. Finch almost gets trapped on the ropes but decides to bail out of there and stick some punches in the blonde's breasts alas it's too late to steal the round on points.

Round 2:
Another quick start from Jennifer allows her to pack a nasty series into Rachael's face and the younger model really has to stretch her elbows before she gets overrun back to the ropes. Hawkins appears to be in much better physical shape here as she batters Finch into a standstill but she just can't fully blow her away before a reboot effort enables Rachael to avoid a complete disaster. She engages in a hectic back & forth jabbing exchange come the second minute and rips a good series into Jennifer's midsection thereafter. The older model regains her mojo when she drills through Rachael's midriff but the rounds ends with a clinching stalemate and Finch drops a couple of foul shots on the kidneys to heat up the show.

Round 3:
Jennifer is still upset over those low shots at the end of the previous round but Rachael gives her more trouble in short order when she blows up the high guard and connects with vicious uppercuts on the jaw. Ugh! Hawkins slumps on soft knees and misfires with a counter-punching effort which allows the younger model to clam several crisp shots into the blonde's face. Jennifer tries to escape the phone booth trap but wobbles onto the ropes and has to accept the slugging contest that leaves her with a nasty cut across the nasal ridge down the stretch. She still nicks in a couple of head-ringing punches on each temple to slow Finch down but she cuts a wounded figure at the bell and Rachael shoves her back before mouthing off at coach Nikki Visser in the Downunder corner.

Round 4:
Another slugging contest to please the Adelaide patrons in the fourth but this time Rachael gets too careless and eats a vicious combo on the chin that wobbles her off her stance and she fails to reach out from the back foot while Jennifer drives a left hook on the mouth and slumps her into loud spasms. Hawkins drills the exposed ribcage and pummels the briefly stunned opponent onto the ropes where Finch can't stretch her elbows and has to endure another body assault charge before Jennifer whacks her with an uppercut series on the chin. Ugh! Rachael has to clinch the former Miss Universe but she still gets pushed onto the turnbuckle where the blonde model cleans out her abs in highly effective fashion.

Round 5:
Rachael struggles to pick up the jabbing pace and soaks up more body blows that drain her energy to the point she's too slow to react when Jennifer slams a left/right combo on each temple. Another drilling hook cuts Finch below the left eye but she tries to swing over the top to stop the blonde's charge. She shoots over Jennifer's shoulder though and turns in just as the blonde SMOKES her with a left hook on the ear. Uh-oh!!! FINCH GOES DOWN flat on her back as she simply got caught with a massive punch here! Jennifer struts back to her corner and Rachael is spawled on the canvas unable to even mount a half-hearted recovery. The count is slow but Rachael only sits up on her heels at seven before slumping down on her side again. All over!!! KO5 Jennifer Hawkins!!!

AFTER: The former Miss Universe indicates she's still got some juice in the tank left and mocks the Wildetime entourage over sending Rachael into her path without a proper "get busy" fight before: "I know these bimbos think I'm waaay past my prime. Not so frickin' fast! I can still drop an arrogant bytch for the count which Pia Miller learned the hard way few weeks ago. I guess Rachael will know better from now on, aye? She should be thankful I didn't rearrange her face but I won't be so generous next time!" (giggles).
