Charlize Theron vs. Jennifer O’Dell (I) by simguy 7-16-04

Janet Jones rumoured to be furious as Charlize suddenly musters camp, draws away precious resources from the Stable war for a fight on short notice against the ridiculously dangerous Jenny O'Dell. "Janet's livid," chuckles an un-named source close to the KruZherS. "In Janet's mind - O'Dell's more dangerous than Pratt, but Charlize won't have it - she's all 'I need to fight - I'm a finely tuned instrument' - all that stuff. They've tried to keep a lid on it, but it's thrown that house into chaos - per usual for Theron." Charlize the picture of regal serenity in all prefight conferences, dismissing the threat of young O'Dell. "Jenny's willing - I'll give her that, and she's highly ranked by some. But the bottom line is - this kid's a choker. She would be as dangerous as some are saying, except that I can see the fear on her like stripes and polkadots - Jenny O'Dell's already beaten herself. Face it guys - cheap sluts don't beat Oscar winning thoroughbreds."

O'Dell somewhat surprised by the abrupt acceptance of her long-ago challenge, but gym rat always in shape and ready to go. "In some ways, I've trained my whole career for this fight," admits Jenny. "I've got every tape of Charlize in the ring - I've seen what works on her and what doesn't. I got a call from Catherine Bell the other day which was very nice - just telling me that Theron's a bully, how you can't back down from her - stuff I already know, but it's great to have it reinforced by someone I respect so much. All I can say is, I'm ready, and I'm not losing to Charlize Theron."

Jenny in electric blue bikini, silver loop connections. Charlize emerging from a gigantic, 15 foot high Oscar statuette lowered from the ceiling after an interminable ring entrance complete with 2001 A Space Odyssey soundtrack - in her cream dream bikini. O'Dell rolling her eyes as if to say "PLEASE can we start fighting now?" as officials shoo seconds out.

Rd 1: Charlize: hands open in salsa position at her stomach, up on her toes, weight on her front foot as she bops, dances, jangles round the ring. Theron gliding, backhanding jabs, chopping right hands with the thumb towards the ceiling Ali-style - pretty first minute. O'Dell stalking, crouching, batting stick out of the air and prowling forward - by the second minute she starts winging missiles. Right hand shaves Charlize chin - alarms her, gets her leaning back, hands down and BOOMING hook on the chin puts Oscar-winning buttocks on canvas as crowd roars to it's feet. Woozy 8 Theron and ON COMES O'Dell! Pancake tackle into the ropes, grinding head-scrub as Jenny positions herself on Charlize's chest, drums tummy a rolling series of lefts and rights, then works out of the wrap. O'Dell riding her left around Charlize' right, slumping her forward and squashing both tits flat with nasty right hand clubs inside! Theron open mouthed, trying to clinch up with her left arm, but Jenny nixes it - leaning in to push the left bicep back, then getting back to pounding pennies. Theron wilting - O'Dell shifting position, now wrapping with the right arm to dig lefts, pushing up to keep Charlize torso open, then back to the orthodox wrap. Systematic bullying to the bell has Janet slamming the apron with both palms in outrage - Theron windblown: O'Dell the fastest starting fighter in the FCBA storms back to her corner, feirce snarl, hair flowing back off her face.

Rd 2: Jenny charging recklessly through the Theron jab, tackling up around the waist and leg-driving the former champ at the gallop back into her own corner. O'Dell pushing, jostling, then wrapping up and it's more holding and hitting as Theron desperately struggles to extricate herself. Girls tumble to the canvas at one point - Jenny wriggling to climb on top - not to foul, just to boss her, make her feel weight - ringsiders impressed with Jen's raw aggression. O'Dell always riding one arm around Charlize, then crowding - when she's not plugging Theron's torso with punches, she's bodying up snug, leaning in with the free mitt open-palm to keep Theron's torso exposed. Jenny shoving punches, digging them, cramming and plugging them - very short, stuffing work; often with her face in the crook of Charlize' neck while doing business. Theron in shock - unable to get her back off the ropes, unable to push, spin, or punch her way clear - tits THROBBING, ribs are shining up and by the end of the round, Jenny's clubbing insolent little lefts and rights out of the wrap to the face. O'Dell indulging, pouring on extra after the bell - ref tugs her loose and scolds her as Janet screams protests from the corner.

Rd 3: Theron flat footed, grim-faced - finessing Jenny's not working, time to hurt her. Charlize going to a long, measuring stick as O'Dell rushes forward, just holding her up long enough for a slinging right hand clout on the chops - O'Dell re-directed to the side and stung for the first time as Theron punches for respect this round. Jenny keeping the right at her cheek, jabbing to the chest, then bending down - O'Dell moving her head well, stabbing blunt stick as both women look to set up homerun rights. Dangerous cat and mouse as girls work on the outside, thrusting right crosses, cleaning up hooks - very tense as some of these missed punches are clear fight-winners. Charlize stabilizing Jenny somewhat, steering her with that rangy stick and just kissing her some sizzling rights - Theron making fiery eye contact at the bell as she rights the ship.

Rd 4: Jenny rushes like she's going to tackle, then holds up, then brings a lead right, then shifts weight to back foot to slap a hook across startled Theron chops - O'Dell with some shifty moves has Charlize guessing in the first minute. Charlize flinching, looking - Jenny jabs her to the body, leans away from the receipt, sways back in with a clouting right on the chin, turns over the hook as Theron staggers backward and soon it's a full fledged rout! Jenny storming forward with her vaunted walking barrage of lefts and rights - Theron leaning backward, backpedalling, getting clocked and DROPPED AT THE ROPES! Final hook claps the mouthpiece off Charlize' teeth and leaves her in a shabby little heap - Theron climbing ropes to beat the count as Jenny champs at the bit. ON COMES O'DELL! Jenny surging forward, eats a poking right hand on the face and CRUSHES Theron's head a crashing overhand right, draping long blonde over the top rope. Left on the chin, right smashing off the brow - Theron tilted backwards, taking shellack off her face, hands down and THE REF STEPS IN! But it's a STANDING 8! Jenny chest heaving, momentarily believing she'd stopped Theron only to see Charlize essentially saved by the ref. Charlize horribly busted up, sags against ropes as Jen lights her up! Right under chin, left across throbbing abs as Theron digs in for O'Dell's finishing assault. Jenny crouching and hurling straight rights, chopping lefts, criss-cross drubbing the golden goddesses golden goodies as she goes to Theron’s bra with both fists! Charlize turning her shoulders, trying to protect her pummelled jugs and bruised upperchest, sacrificing a little facial tissue to do so. Bell sounds, O'Dell lips pulled back with effort, but holds up on a right hand that would have landed late.

Rd 5: Janet reviving Charlize with salts - Theron up off her stool woozy, but alert - she fights a veteran fifth to get her legs back. Right hand at the cheek, shooting jabs, easing back to draw Jenny in, then turning on tight intercepting rights and hanging on for dear life as O'Dell charges through it. Punch n' clutch effective - both scoring on O'Dell and bogging her down - Charlize retreating, but cagily clawing her way back from the brink.

Rd 6: Jenny POURS herself at Charlize early - more sequences of Theron at the ropes with a pained, pounded expression, turning her shoulders as Jenny pumps piston straight lefts and rights to the chest and chin. Charlize rolling blows, then clinching, turning Jenny, pushing her off - O'Dell the boss as Theron's purely defensive. Down the stretch, Charlize easing right, slaps a backhand left off Jen's temple, feints like she's going to do it again, then drives in to detonate a crashing right off O'Dell's startled jaw. JENNY DROPPED! Sprawled on the canvas, shaking her head in disbelief as Charlize nails her a beautiful hesitation right to scold the upstart late in the sixth.

Rd 7: Jenny working, carrying the round - but Charlize stepping to spots, finding her range every once in a while and threatening Jen that murderous right hand. Theron can't match the sturm and drang of Jen on the inside, often just sitting into the ropes and accepting O'Dell's swinging hooks in her aching right flank, then oozing forward to clinch - but Charlize able to make O'Dell pay for real estate outside.

Rd 8: Jenny showing good energy late - moving her head - stubby with the popping jab in Theron's mouth, attacking out of the crouch with straight, workmanlike punches and driving Theron to ropes. Charlize able to discourage Jenny's holding and hitting tactics with that coiled right hand and brawny clinches, but O'Dell splattering away at Theron’s breasts, shoulders and skull with those straight three punch bursts - Charlize sullen, rolling and twisting on defense, prompting an irate Jones to scream for more punches during the break.

Rd 9: Jenny pressing the pace - crouching, closing behind piston stick, then in with roping rights, chopping lefts and a swinging left hook up underneath whenever Charlize leans too far forward. Theron exhausted, mouth open, pushing back leather at the ropes. Charlize licking punches from stomach level, curling lefts and rights up off Jenny's chin and face, swatting her hooks on the ear - O'Dell getting cuffed and buffetted as she seeks to plant and drive into Charlize with her shots. Theron's eyes swelling horribly, mouth open - she's a mess, but she's cute enough fighting off the ropes to prevent Jenny from closing her out. O'Dell fresher, punching harder, but getting clipped pretty cleanly - some of the snap going out of O'Dell's leather by the end.

Rd 10: Jenny attacking as she has all night long - Charlize forlorn, but gutsy, sagging against the ropes, hands at her thighs and waist, rolling her torso cute and looking to curl licking punches out of her defensive movement. O'Dell caught and rocked from those loose, low slung blows, drawing hisses of anxiety from her corner, but she won't be backed off. Jenny still collecting THUMPING connects off Theron's chest, bashing fists off Charlize sleepy, busted up face. Great ebb and flow as both girls are worn down, but giving everything they have - crowd roaring as girls push lefts and rights back and forth at one anothers faces late in a torrid rush to the finish line. Jenny exuberant just to go the distance, Theron gasping, all used up - could have used a few more weeks of road work for a fight like this. Comes back a shattering UD10, Jenny O'Dell!

After: Jenny climbing her corner ropes, exulting with the crowd - she puts it all together to pound Theron round after bruising round to establish top 5 credentials at long last. Nothing fancy - O'Dell beating Theron's chest and torso early, setting a muscular tone, then landing wallop to the face - Charlize clearly not prepared for the kind of heat JOD can generate early in a fight.

"Theron looked confused," says one stunned BLONDE! staffer. "Do I box this kid? Do I slug her? O'Dell isn't a short notice kind of fight - you need to get particular sparring to prepare for her, you need to amp the pressure in your camp, get in top shape, and Charlize really didn't have any of that."

Theron surprising a lot of folks by pushing through the crowd and shaking a suspicious Jenny O'Dell's hand. "Hey - it was the biggest night of her life, I came out flat and she kicked my ass," Theron explains. "I just wanted to congratulate her and tell her to enjoy it. It's all downhill for Jenny O'Dell from here. This time next year - she's out of boxing, maybe mopping floors at our gym IF I'm feeling generous."
