Thanks to FightFan for this repost.

Before: Richards responds to the dissing, brushing aside her management and taking this on-set fight to prove a point. "I'm tired of everyone treating me with kid gloves" says Richards, " I can really fight, and I'm not backing down from some punk rocker with an attitude" Spin doctors try to play it down, calling the bout a sparring session, but both girls are coming to win, and Manson none too shy about making predictions. Still, Richards is the trained boxer of the two, arguably fitter, and more experienced, at least in terms of fighting in the ring, with gloves, and rules (however rarely enforced.) Denise in royal blue sportsbra, grey aerobics bottoms, white sneakers and gloves - ponytail. Shirley in tiny black skirt, crop knit chainmail style tank top.

During R1: Manson sneering and stalking, gloves low, looking ready to slug - Richards on her toes, gloves high, chin tucked, eyes wary. Denise Richards spends the first minute stepping left and right around Manson, pounding the singer's nose flat with a straight jab, and midway through the round, Denise walks Shirley into a popping right hand on the chin that nearly produces the fight's first knockdown. Manson suffering leg lock, stumbles forward and Richards puts her fists together in a series of competent combinations to the bell as Shirley takes flush - clearly no idea what to do in terms of defense.

R2: Manson responding with sheer violence, storms out this round, hurling wide lefts and rights with some effectiveness. Richards unable to counter, but doing a good job of keeping the gloves up, rolling her torso with the punches, and retreating in good order to avoid the worst of it. Still, it's Shirley's round as she chases Richards all over the ring, scoring the occasional slapping blow as Denise steps away.

R3: Denise standing her ground more this round, realizes that Shirley's mechanics aren't as dangerous as her ferocity. Richards punching inside the wider blows, drilling lead right hands to the bleeding nose and pounding back Shirley's head with increasing ease. Manson starting to tire, labouring to punch, and getting caught with 2 and 3 punches in return as Richards works behind a robotic, but effective jab.

R4: Denise Richards actually enjoying the pain she's inflicting, finally has Manson in retreat, rubbing at her nose and looking uncertain. Denise bouncing in and out, sticking the jab and landing flush right crosses with heartless accuracy this round. Midway through the round, with
Richards calmly retreating and spearing Manson with successive jabs, Denise leans into a beauty of a straight right, pounding out Manson's mouthpiece and leaving the singer helpless at center ring. Richards stunned at the force of the blow herself, takes in the wreckage, then steps in with another right hand on the top of the head as Manson tumbles to the canvas. Shirley beats the count, and flails away to actually force Richards to run the clock rather than fight in the final minute.

R5: Richards using her legs early, dances in a wide circle around Shirley, forcing the mouth breathing Brit to spend precious energy in pursuit. Denise's superior conditioning and legs making this an easy bout the longer it goes, and she stops to drop quick bursting combinations before taking flight again. Midway through the round, Richards again lights Shirley up coming in, this time with a sucker lead right uppercut on the mouth that rocks Manson sideways. Once again, Shirley responds with pure heart, putting her head down, pinwheeling her arms like a demon, and making Richards back off instead of press to a finish.

R6: Denise glowing with confidence, cockily stepping around the Brit with left hand low, right hand cocked like a puncher. Richards turning her torso to pump lead right hands, steps and pounds away at Manson's battered face as Shirley reels. Manson finally lunging at Richards with a looping right, but Denise times her perfectly, ducking in and banging the short right hand off the singer's chin in a pre-emptive strike. Manson cascades past Denise to crash to all fours, and the ref pushes Denise back as the once brash rocker tries to stand. Pathetic sight as Manson's limbs betray her, shaking like a new-born colt, and she will not beat the count. Satisfying, and surprising KO6 Denise Richards.

After: If Attitude won fights - Manson would have hospitalized Richards on this night, but Denise rose to the moment, refused to be intimidated and handed out a b###h-slapping to the shock of those in attendance. Normally sweet tempered Richards punctuated the beating with unsportsmanlike conduct, bodying up on the woozy loser after the fight for some foul mouthed trash talk until respective handlers could get involved.
