Before: Sims an informal gatekeeper to the lightweight Top 10--but she’s got greater ambitions than just being the big-girl Jennie Garth, “I don’t see why the media would be writing me off as a title threat,” Molly grouses in preflight, “Physically, the only girl close to me is Charlize--and I’ve got better legs and a prettier face, so really, why wouldn’t I get more of a push? I just have to win the fights I get--that’s important--and hat’s why it’s SO important to put Adrianne down. I need something spectacular--maybe a big knockout or 10-0 rout--something that will remind people that Molly Sims is a major player in this sport.” Adrianne not pushing any buttons--young fighter being a professional in and out of the ring--she’s just here to do her job. “I respect Molly a great deal--and actually--her wins over Taylor Cole are part of my own personal reference library, because molly really showed tremendous form in those fights, I don’t know what problems she’s had, or issues she’s got--and I don’t care. She’s the girl Sceej is putting in front of me next: I need to get past her. I’m not putting pressure on myself to impress: Molly’s a good, experienced veteran--I’ll take an ugly UD10 if I can get it.” Adrianne in white bikini, ring connections white gloves. Molly in green bikini with gold strings, white gloves.

During R1: Molly cautious, circling to her right flopping out the backhand jab and flinching away from receipts. Adrianne the aggressor--dukes up, elbows in: she’s taking Molly’s jab on her arms, then lunging to counter-hook or drive home hard rights. Molly leggy, ranging round the ring--hard for Palicki to line her up for anything big. Adrianne adjusting in second half--cutting off the ring--jabbing to Molly’s stomach, and as Sims backs up--Palick’s stepping-with and driving right crosses up top, Grazing contact, but tactical adjustment an eye-opener for Molly: Palicki well-schooled, imposing herself early.

R2: Palicki continues to work a nice big-girl stick: plenty of pop on the jab--good distribution as Adrianne works tummy, tits and face. Molly frowning, poked off her  rhythm: Palicki really disrupting Sims, confusing her. Minute mark, Adrianne able to flow a drifting right cross to chin off her jab, tossing Molly’s head aside: Sims quick to clinch, legs buzzed. Second minute--Adrianne patient--walking Molly down, touching her the jab: Palicki stalking her prey, breaking her down from outside, Final minute--Molly’s been pushed to the perimeter--sliding to her right with vinyl at her back: Adrianne stepping-with, paralleling course, keeping the jab on Molly’s chest. RIGHT HAND ADRIANNE! Palicki choosing her moment to commit, again driving in off the jab: ropes. Palicki saucer-eyed, but staying disciplined: left hand extends to knuckle into Molly’s chest, stabilizing her: Sims groggily faces into the pulverizing right that ends her night. Thunderclap whack sounds out--Sims’ head sloshing about as she implodes straight down into canvas--frightening KO2, Adrianne Palicki.

After: Sims actually entering a favourite at some books: her rep takes a terrible drubbing as young Adrianne stalks her, marks her,, and takes her out in chilling fashion. “I’m  thrilled,” an almost sheepish Adrianne says in post fight--she’s obviously shocked that it’s over. “Molly’s a big, rangy puncher like I am, so we wanted to be patient, work on her smart--I didn’t think I’d be getting clean right hand looks until the fifth or sixth round. I hit her that first one and she just sort of slumped; second one was just for insurance--I think she may have been out at that point, not sure.” Great win for Palicki--kid drawing comparisons with a young Jeri Ryan for that patient approach setting u the bone-crunching, compact right hand.
