BEFORE: "Alicia needs to know that I train with UCLA gymnasts all the time," Hayden boasts in prefight. "They spar with me to work on their boxing - I work medicine balls and do clinching with them for conditioning...I know all about gymnasts, trust me. Sacramone's a little juggernaut, but I'm not too shabby myself, and if she thinks she's just going to blow through me, she's got a whole new world of truth coming at her!" Alicia feisty, upbeat: nobody loves spotlight like a worldclass gymnast. "I'm a huge fan of the FCBA - we always get all the PPVs and cheer our faves and stuff...but I'm here to prove that no actress on earth can fight a world-class gymnast. I know Hayd works out with the Bruins, but whatever: doing a bunch of crunches and pull-ups doesn't make you gymnast-strong. All I can say is, I'm going tummy on Hayden, and there's not going to be one damn thing she can do about it!" ASac ends her spiel by fronting on Hayden, lifting up the bottom of her tank top to reveal hard fighting abs while making steely eye contact: Panny blushing crimson at the brazen tummy-reveal - generally considered a face-slap amongst female competitors.

Venue: outdoor beach fight on Venice boardwalk (standard ring, outdoors). Cast of Make It Or Break It is there to cheer on Alicia, along with dozens of college gymnasts; Scerbo acting as chief second for Alicia, accompanying her to midring for instructions - huge distraction for Hayd as she gets into staredown with Scerbo instead of Alicia!

White bikini for Alicia; small white diggin' mittens; curly blonde hair in battle bun. Hayden in red/white horizontally barred bikini; hair in tidy battle bun; small white diggin' mittens.

During R1: Loud thumping sound of Alicia's feet stomping on canvas as she rushes Hayden: Panny sidesteps right, feints - stiff-jabs Ali's face, scoots away to earn a smattering of applause at open. Scerbo cheerleading loud from the corner: "YAH! Get 'er 'leesh! TUMMY!" Another Sacramone bull rush: another jab-reject from Hayden and step-out as Panettiere refuses to engage. That's the way of it - ASac clearly wants to clinch-fight: Hayden sidestepping, feinting, using a stubby jab to fend Alicia off/steer her about the ring. Down the stretch, Hayden puts a right hand behind the jab, clouting chin; puts the hook on top - reloads and hops in close with a MUSCULAR hook to jaw: Alicia Sacs stumbles back on her heels in shock, but taking it well...ominous news for Hayden fans as she hit Sacramone with the kitchen sink there. Still: Hayden's round. Some commentators noting that Scerbo's turned Alicia around to fight conventional instead of southpaw - at least early on.

R2: Hayden thoughtful, focussed - crouching with right fist under her chin, chin tucked behind left shoulder, left hand cocked to poke stiff jabs. Crisp, stubby stuff from Hayden: jolting left jab punching Ali's face as she's scooting in; biting, stubby little hook chipping her chin as Hayden's pivoting clockwise - Panny walking her gymnast into harm early. ASac able to bob/weave her way to Hayden's ribcage in second minute - crowd roaring to see brawny shoulders rolling - fists bumping out hup-hup rhythm against Hayden's stocky torso. Hayd doesn't shy away - she hup-hups right back at Alicia's breadbasket and ribs, testing the brawn. Final minute - Hayden disengages, circles to her right with a pretty little scowl: jab-rejects keep Sacramone outside, stealing the round for Hayd.

R3: Asac shoulders hunched, torso weaving: she's looking to bore-in, get to diggin'. Hayden jabbing Alicia's hairline, stepping out on her, drawing her forward: Panny with that quick, jittering footwork proving tough to clinch or corner. Rapid fire stuff back and forth - Hayden pursing her lips and chugging away hup-hup when it's time to get off robusto: Alicia walking through everything, ripping at Hayden's abs hup-hup, but also whirling in palm-down rib-chippers behind the elbows. Hayden separating herself with cute, picturesque power shots: fish-hook left uppercut picking Alicia's head up smart off her gloves; compact hook-and-pivot routines, toggling Ali's chin; rapid shoe-shining hup-hup to jug, tidying Alicia's pecs up in flurries before Hayden steps out.

R4: Alicia stubby-jabbing out of her crouch, working her way in closer: she's able to cram tuff right hands into Hayden's tummy early, drawing Panny into clinch. Girls sliding strong left arms in under opposing rights - grunting and pushing mouth-on-shoulder while right hands works bodies underneath. Sacramone unquestionably stronger here, but Hayden cute along the ropes - using good leverage to twist-reverse Ali into ropes and punishing her in spots. Asac loves the clinch though - always able to wrestle back on top, shouldering Hayden into compliance and getting work DONE downstairs. Bell: Ali pushes up off Hayd at ropes all dimples-n'-grins: Hayden scowling at the extra touch and weight she's forced to take.

R5: Hayd smart-steppin', jab-rejectin'...face serious as she anticipates and triggers pre-emptive poke to Ali's face. Sacramone heedless - walking in, getting off late as Hayden scoots away: Panny at her most disciplined, letting Asac be the aggressor, but touching her up on the way in. Midway through, Hayden hunches forward like she's going to drop a short right hand - rips hook-to-abs instead as Ali crouches in earmuff. Hayden: bounces tight right hand off ribs behind Ali's left elbow; picks up jug a tidy left uppercut inside; chops a right hand to Ali's left temple; picks Ali's face up all startled via TIGHT little fish-hook left uppercut. Hayden a real cling-clang kid of the rim-ram room here...putting Ali Sacs wobbly butt for a moment - but Sacramone shakes her head, hunches her shoulders and goes right back on the attack! Astounding conditioning for Sacramone allows her to shrug off Hayden's best combination leather, walk-in and start pounding torso! It's Alicia hounding Hayden to ropes late - blitzing her a stamping barrage of palm-down left/rights hup-hup-hup to chest/arms as Hayden crosses wrists at tits/keeps elbows in tight to absorb the thumping.

R6: Hayden disheartened: Alicia quickly atop Panettiere, sliding left arm in under Hayden's right, muscling her to ropes. Bruising, grunting clinch-fight ensues - Ali bossing Hayden against ropes - crowding her with left shoulder in tits - working the body tuff, stuffing right hands THICK. Hayden grumpy, sweaty, getting jostled and thumped at ropes: she's digging back righty in spots - working gymnast abs/leftside hip-and-ribs with swat-n'-dig delivery. Asac's a tireless working - stocky legs stamping, toned backside ringing as she keeps Hayden pinned down, outworking one of the best pound for pound actress/clinchfighters in the world. Bell: Ali pushes up off Hayden all big-girl; Scerbo standing on the apron, big-clapping above her head while smiling huge at Hayden's discomfort.

R7: Hayden composed, compact - she slides back in her stance, knocking jabs against Ali's oncoming pate, then LIGHTING her up the tidy counter right uppercut off the back (right) leg. Short, sudden jolt to chin sends tremors down Ali's legs: Hayden sidesteps, allowing gymnast to stumble face-first into ropes! Payback hurt issued to Alicia: Hayden squaring away, going at her foe in earnest - letting her hands bounce off hard gymnast biceps/rib meat/tummy meat/flanks/lats. Alicia open-mouthed, really getting tanned: Hayden working, then shoving Sacramone brawny, ragdolling her into ropes! Hayden careful not to fall into clinch here - keeping both hands moving. Down the stretch - Hayden stamps palm-down straight left/rights onto Alicia's chest, then works palm-down rib-chippers around Ali's elbows, THEN stamps palm-down left/rights down into tummy. Alicia groaning, crossing arms against body with a sick expression of hurt: Hayden cleans up hup-hup to bell, sitting Ali in ropes with body work! Immediately after the bell - furious Hayden seething, cocks a right hand...but doesn't let it go. Alicia flinching to cover up, then staring in confusion: obviously she's been told Hayden's cheap and heartless in such situations - Panny proving more honourable than expected.

R8: Maybe Hayden SHOULD have smoked Ali cheap: Sacramone erupts out of her corner this round, tackling Hayden into hers and treating her to one of the worst beatings of her career. Brutal shove and slug - Sacramone ragdolling Hayden, bodying up to stack, bludgeoning her pecs/biceps/torso with non-stop chugging. ASac reaching her RIGHT arm in under Hayden's left - pushing in on her while digging LEFT hands up into body: Hayden now having to deal with southpaw clinch fighting - her right hand trying to grab at Alicia's left wrist as they struggle ropeside. Bell to bell BIG for Alicia: Hayden all busted up, body throbbing...she sags into ropes, hugging herself with pained expression as fuming Ali Sacs stomps back to her corner to a BIG hug from Cassie Scerbo!

R9: The heart of Hayden Panettiere! Ali Sacs out to finish up...but there's Hayden in that anticipatory clinch - issuing stubby jab-rejects, stepping out and around, being all sneaky/bouncy outside! Sacramone constantly turning to the attack, pressing up the middle: Hayden's jab knocking at pate; Hayden's feet jitterbuggiing out and around as she circles her foe. Midway through - fake right hand sets up snap-snatching hook to breadbasket, getting Ali to crouch down. Hard-hearted Hayden tight-lipped as she hacks a cold-blooded right in palm-down atop Ali's left hip, then dips right, arches her back and picks Ali up a gorgeous snug little right uppercut. Picture perfect - Hayden's weight on her right leg, right fist tucked tight to her own left shoulder on follow through...Ali's head flying back, eyes shut tight in grimace, hands down at her tummy as sturdy legs soak the shock. Sacramone doesn't go down, but she's rocked: gymnast forms groggy earmuff, stooping forward while Hayden steps back in good order, bouncing TIGHT lefts and rights off Sacramone's biceps/waist. Hayd so compact here - twisting her stocky torso side to side as she bounces the punches off on-coming Sacramone torso. Gorgeous stuff: weary Alicia nodding in acknowledgment at bell, showing her class after a tuff, tuff ass-kicking.

R10: Hayden engages - fighting with Sacramone forehead on forehead, swapping tidy shots underneath. Panny busy, but not stupid: she won't lay in, she just trades, then slides to the side, turning Ali Sacs on the spot. Scerbo screaming for Alicia to "TIE HER UP!" - but Sacramone just groggily working punches, trying to be busy. Hayden takes body work, but keeps initiative - turning Ali, pushing her in spots, stepping out to make her stumble forward...lots of little boxing tricks helping to keep Sacramone from imposing her strength. Bell: Ali nodding, immediately offering to hug it out all brawny at midring: Hayden accepts as Scerbo's stamping her foot, crossing her arms in disgust at ringside. Comes back UD10 Hayden Panettiere in bruising fashion.

After: Girls standing side by side, an arm behind one another's back: Hayden's won Alicia's respect in this fight. "I didn't think it was possible for an actress to go with me," Ali Sacs admits. "I mean - I've knocked out dudes with my punch, and I dominate our gym...but Hayden's special - not to mention tricky and smart: I trained to fight her in the clinch 'cause Cassie said Hayden wouldn't be able to resist! I had my chance to stop her in the 8th - gave her a hella-beat, but she took it like a real gymnast, so I'm proud of her!" Panny smiling - badly scuffed up, but pleased with herself. "I know from my own experience that working in the clinch with a gymnast makes for a long night," Hayden admits, "so we wanted to use our footwork, keep Ali guessing - really make her box more than fight. I was super-worried she'd come out with a bunch of southpaw angles and trickery, but she squared up fairly predictable and I didn't have any trouble with my reads. Thanks Cassie - that was great advice!"
