Before: Rangy, raw boned Jorja Fox takes on curvy veteran Katherine Heigl in a stepping stone bout. Heigl once a promising prospect in her own right--several lackluster or inconsistent efforts have given her an “opponent” label that only victory can remove. Fox showing signs of being a heavy handed lanky puncher, trying to develop those boxing skills that can realize the potential of her lean physique. Pink bra and panties for Fox, pastel blue bra and panties, blonde ponytail Heigl.

During R1,2,3: Identical rounds, First minutes--Jorja starts strong behind a shattering jab, backing Katherine straight up and leaving her vulnerable to booming right crosses. After that, Fox gets a little wife, starts to sling, starts to hang around in front of Heigl and the solid blonde gets the better of stubborn trade in a phone booth. Fox loading up, cranking underneath with long right hands, getting her weight on her front foot and pulling around the whippy hook in tight--she’s using her body and elbows to push Heigl off, but this is Katherine’s fight. Toe to toe, Kathy bashing the arms and body to good effect, shouldering Fox into the ropes, and clubbing skull with curling overhand rights--Heigl bangs out all 3 tough, hard hitting minutes.

R4: Fox finally able to sustain her form throughout a round. Jab is punishing Heigl, backing her off, making her hesitant to close, Fox extending on blistering right hands--Kathy wants no part of them either. Against the ropes, Jorja getting her long body in behind lashing licks up underneath, just thumping her fists off Katherine’s body, dropping the back foot to lean out, then swaying inside again with looping power.

R5: Jorja keeps it up--keeping Heigl on the end of her punches, extending on pulverizing rights off the stick and midway though a picture perfect one-two nails Katherine stepping straight back, dropping the girl to her buttocks at the ropes, Heigl takes 8--Fox immediately shouldering her beefy int the ropes, then getting her long licks in, tightening up her strokes, just shrugging in punches, turning her body as she pulls her fists into Heigl’s shuddering frame. Nice lanky bodied beating leaves Katherine humming at the bell.

R6: Heigl stepping in like Tyson against Botha--quick measuring left, SHORT right hand from her chest pounds in over Fox’s irresponsibly low left and JORJA GOES DOWN! Fox sprawled senseless by the walloping shot--she beats the count, but legs are GONE! Gut check Jorja as Heigl mounts up. Kathy palming, bodying her girl against the ropes, probing and pulling at Jorja’s guard in order to free up right hand heart punches that SHAKE the brunette to her ankles. Fox survives, but she’s open mouthed I pain from driving rights under her left breast--Heigl getting hamhanded to brawl her way bak into the lead.

R7: Heigl pressing early, just reaching her left in to stabilize, then shunting her body into that bashing right hand to the chest. Fox grimacing , but gutty--she’s starting to use her legs, turning Katherine, stamping out that jab to create distance. End of the second minute--Fox getting her way--Heigl’s following her around, unable to pull the trigger, taking a stern stick to the face. Jorja stepping left, right hand under her right eye, left hand smacking back Heigl’s available face and THERE! Slashing right cross catches Katherine perfectly on the chin--Heigl suddenly a swoon, tilting forward, feet stomping at random. Jorja knuckles up, steps to the right, bends in another screeching right across the jaw, dips and RIPS a lanky hook off her waist across Heigl’s shellshocked face and KATHERINE GOES DOWN! Heigl sprawling stunned to her back, hands in her head as she just can’t go on. KO7 in spectacular fashion Jorja Fox!

After: Jorja may  be strongest at big lightweight, but she proves she can hit welterweights and knock them out--Heigl a strong blonde, but can’t take the withering crack of Fox’s crashing fists in a shootout. Jorja with a slugger’s heart, made the fight tougher than it had to be by standing and trading--but she’s got the tools that will only improve with experience.
