Before: Swimsuit company needs some pub, Packard needs a title, lawyers get together, and this fight gets made. Kelly at sixes and sevens since losing the sub 110 pound-for-pound diadem, looks forward to fighting a very fit, but rusty Alfonso. Packard the most elegant boxer in the game, and she’s had to be to protect her delicate features and chin. Alfonso a slugger in a boxer’s body, once known for sudden bursts of KO power, and an ability to take a good punch. Packard a heavy favourite, but die hard fans of Kristian from the old days are boasting of an upset, and they like the fact their girl’s the bigger of the two come fight night. Mauve athletic bikini, suitable for hiking, swimming, and of course boxing, for Packard; Royal blue bikini for Kristian with high neck. White gloves and sneakers for both women.

During R1: Packard picks and pecks at Alfonso early with straight combinations, Firing the left jab, straight right, Packard leans into a bobbing motion well out front of her lead leg, making Alfonso miss with amateurish swatting. Packard cruising, but with seconds left in the round, Alfonso shows her perchant for violence out of the blue. Kristian loops a counter right uppercut underneath Packard’s jab, then steps into a crushing left hook to Kelly’s cheek, catching the blonde flatfooted, and knocking her stumbling backwards. Kelly is definitely hurt, wide eyed and tremble-bodied, she clinches, holding on for dear life at the bell as Alfonso sneers.

R2: Packard learns her lesson, and moves her feet the entire round. Bouncing backwards clockwise around Alfonso, Kelly smacks the jab, doubling and tripling the punch. Kristian’s face gets a shoe shine this round, as she leans back from the jab, thinking irt can’t hit her, and simply stands there when it does,. Packard with no real reach advantage, looks the rangier girl simply by virtue of her excellent judgment and technique.

R3: Alfonso steps right to cut off the ring, and bangs some short hooks off Packard’s midsection early. Kelly responds, and a fight breaks out midway through the round as both girls welt one another with lashing body shots and right hands to the chin. Alfonso coming forward, steps into a straight right hand from Packard and Kristian stumbles to all fours. It’s a flash knockdown, but Alfonso not as aggressive afterward, allowing Packard to hook her tummy and head to the bell.

R4: Kelly Packard dishes out a very feminine beating this round as Kristian follows the blonde around the ring. Bouncing off her heels, Kelly gets that limber jab going, sometimes stinging, sometimes slapping. 2 or 3 punches, then Kelly rocks the left like a cobra at her side, looking for the next opportunity. Kristian slavishly stumbles forward, getting her head knocked back repeatedly, and the sheer repetition of the punches has Alfonso droopy eyed and a little shopworn at the bell. Kelly just reducing Kristian with the stick, allows herself a saucy smirk as she struts back to her corner at the break.

R5: Kristian knows she has to get Kelly off her game, and roughs the blonde uip this round. Catching Packard with a cruel elbow to the forehead early, Kristian follows up with punishing strokes to the midsection, then has Kelly opening up in toe to toe trading the rest of the round, Alfonso has those quick hands, and Kelly just doesn’t punch hard enough in the exchanges, allowing Kristian to counter very effectively. By the final minute, Packard’s arms look weak, pushing at Kristian more than punching, as the brunette continues to answer with vicious short hooks and chopping rights. A pounding left to the ribs--left to the jaw shocks Packard, who goes wobbly butt and sinks to the ropes. Alfonso pounces, swinging away with lefts and rights to the slender waist of the blonde, but is robbed by the bell, Alfonso with a forearm shove, pushes Packard into the ropes before stomping back to her corner.

R6,7: Packard regains her composure--both women have shown a lot of resiliency in this fight. Re-establishing the jab, Kelly once again punches Alfonso into a daze, and even begins to showboat, bolo-ing with the right, popping the left, while circling, Alfonso’s offense comes in short bursts of churning shots with both hands, but more often than not, she just can’t make contact.

R8: Kelly punching and bobbing, gets a little complacent this round, and Alfonso rips the right uppercut counter, left hook to put the blonde on her butt midway through. Kelly up at 8 is hurt with a lot of time left on the clock, but she is brilliant in the final minute. Scoring with single left hands to the midsection, or straight right hands to the chin,  Kelly bobs after punching, holds and slips Kristian to the bell, neatly escaping what could have been a tough situation.

R9: Packard with her legs back under her, stays patient, content to lump-up Kristian’s beautiful face with that insistent jab. Alfonso’s eyes, lips and cheeks are all swollen and shiny after the continued left hand strikes through 9.

R10: Kelly puts on a terrific show in the final round, sincerely seeking a stoppage despite having the fight  sewn up. With Kristian sluggish and despondent from the jab, Kelly starts to hook off the stick, getting her wiry body in behind damaging blows to the temple and jaw, and Kristian starts to wobble. Packard forces the issue gouging at the body and clubbing at the head with 2 and 3 hooks at a time, driving Alfonso in a meandering path around the ring, in the final minute, Packard actually measures a sleepy Alfonso with the right, then cranks a whipping left hook to the jaw which smacks Kristian’s mouthpiece clear into the first row. Alfonso battered senseless in the last round, nonetheless finishes on her feet, and gets a warm hug fro the victor at the bell.

After Janzten happy with the fight, happy with the champ, and Kelly picks up the corporate trinket while waiting for bigger fish. Good effort from Alfonso after a long lay off, still shows flashes of form that could make her dangerous at the lighter weights if she wanted to be.
