About

Founded in 2009, coaches Maria Ford and Mariska Hargitay ran Hour Glass Fitness until the stable’s decision to step back from full professional competition in 2010. The stable then ceased to operate independently and subsequently worked more closely with the Front Street Boxing stable.

Hour Glass Fitness saw its two fighters Shakira and Britney Spears perform to a high standard in this early period, with Spear’s defending her Unified Bantamweight Title whilst with the stable. 

The Hour Glass Fitness brand then remained dormant for a number of years until a British company purchased its assets and returned the organisation to competition in both the Female Celebrity Boxing Association and in the national British Boxing Unlimited.

The reformed stable moved to a European base in Brighton, East Sussex.

A gym and training facility is located on the eastern end of the beachfront.

The 31,000 seat Falmer Stadium is used to stage fights after agreement to the joint use of the stadium was made with Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club. 

Following retirement, British boxer’s Louise Redknapp and Kerry Katona were appointed Managers of the stable by its new owners in November 2023. A new roster of female fighters were assembled at the same time.
