Catherine is smiling as she steps back into the ring “The final title fight tonight, for the welterweight championship, and here’s your champion, from Eastenders and Bionic Woman, London’s Michelle Ryan.” Michelle has chosen a navy blue strip tonight, and looks good as CZJ continues, “Her challenger, also from London, the singer, Javine Hylton.” The tall black girl looks good in all white.

Round 1

Confident Michelle controls the early exchanges, bullying the singer around the ring, hitting her hard to the body, but she is using a lot of energy at this stage, and a grinning Javine is able to soak up most of the intended bodyblows with her arms, before dancing out of trouble, rapping Ryan’s face with a couple of sharp lefts to the cheek, rocking the champion’s head back. Unfazed, Michelle mounts another attack to the taller girl’s body, but finds herself eating leather and is backpedalling by the bell.

Close round – maybe just Michelle.

Round 2

Javine is content to let Michelle push her around again in the first part of the round, defending her body tightly, still able to catch the champion with that looping left lead, a kind of hook/jab which is finding the shorter girl’s cheek a hittable target. Michelle backs off to the ropes, takes two good lefts to the face, then charges out, a big two-fisted attack, the singer staggering backwards, then catches Ryan again to the face before taking shots to her ribcage before the round ends.

Close again – Michelle busier, Javine accurate – depends how you see it.

Round 3

Michelle less keen to push Javine around at the start of the third, but still trying to drag the taller girl into a brawl – a challenge not met as Javine carries on picking the champ off with that looping left lead while Michelle is searching in vain for the big punch to the challenger’s body. Ryan is being punished for overconfidence midway through this round, on the ropes and being hit to the face, but she is powerful enough to turn her girl, gets a nice one two to her body, and has her covering up and grunting at last, but as she looks to switch the attack to Hylton’s face, the champ gets a faceful of left hand again, halting her in her tracks, and staggering at the end of the round.

Possibly just Javine’s round.

Round 4

Now Javine looks more confident, and she’s landing those lefts to Michelle’s face too often for the champ’s health, the skin reddening and swelling. But Ryan persists with her assault on the black singer’s body, and she is hurting her, the challenger gritting her teeth, in a corner, getting a good one to the belly, then for the first time in earnest having to take blows to the face, a little shower of saliva puffing from her mouth as the actress’s punches smack her head back and forth. Michelle’s trying to finish this fight now, and she gets Javine hard to the body, making her writhe, but the taller girl won’t go down – in fact, she fights back, lovely left to Ryan’s swelling cheek, then a right to the mouth, and it’s Michelle covering up as the round ends.

Michelle’s round, but her eye is closing.

Round 5

Javine licking her bleeding lips as the round starts, frowning as she closes in on Michelle, digging that left into the champ’s face, banging her into the ropes, then she starts to work her right into the actress’s ribs, playing her at her own game, making her gasp, then backing off, looking for the big uppercut – too soon, Javine – Ryan sees the punch coming, and rips four big hooks into the challenger’s flanks, alternate rights and lefts, and she has her in trouble, the guard’s coming down, and Michelle gets her to the mouth again, only for Javine to bang that left hook into her swelling cheek, sending her stumbling across the ring, kness buckling as Hylton cracks a good right across her jaw, and the champ is hurt, and holding on at the bell.

Javine takes round 5 – clear cut.

Round 6

Michelle is breathing hard as the round begins, her right eye closing and smothered in grease, but she still bravely takes the fight to the taller Javine, landing a couple of punches to that toned body, but they are not as hard as they were a couple of rounds ago, and the tall singer just thuds a couple of left hooks into that cheek, then she rocks the champ with a right hook to the other cheek, then another, follows up with a left to the mouth, and Ryan is struggling to stay up, swaying into the ropes, taking a good shot to the body, now hanging on to Javine, whispering in her ear, “You won’t put me down – you ain’t good enough!” which simply earns her a hard punch to the gut before they are broken. Against the ropes again, Michelle gets caught with a lovely left hook to the cheek, then a right to the mouth, her gumshield sent flying into ringside seats, only the bell saving her from more punishment.

Javine’s round again – will the ref stop the fight?

Round 7

Michelle’s right eye is now closed, and it’s business as usual for Javine as she homes in on it, battering the actress’s swollen face, those left hook/jabs just not seen by the actress, then the right handers are beginning to damage the left side of her face, her nose dribbling blood after taking a solid straight right, a looping overarm left smack onto that eye, and Michelle hits the floor – the champ’s on her knees taking an 8 count. She’s up again, but this is pointless, surely, the girl is beaten, and now that eye is cut as well, blood running down her face from a horrid split in her eyebrow, but she nods that she’s OK, then gets a big chopping right to the mouth, and she’s down again, sat on her ass – she tries to get up, but it’s hopeless as she falls forward and is counted out, facedown on the canvas.

Javine Hylton knocked Michelle Ryan out in round 7 to become the new BBU welterweight champion.

Javine is full of praise for Michelle after the fight, and the actress reluctantly apologises for suggesting Javine wasn’t good enough to beat her – but she wants a rematch!
