Similar career arcs for both women--success at the higher weight with Kidman actually owning the belts for a time, but durability a question as hard big-girl punching tended to wear both beauties out. The solution was to drop down and be the big woman in most contests south of 130 in he hopes of papering over suspect chins and delicate ribs. When this bout was announced both camps felt it to be a shrewd move. In the end, neither girl truly felt that way.

Kidman started the fireworks with some sizzling, straight one-twos, pinpointing Famke’s available chin, lighting it up something awful and unhinging Janssen’s long legs time and time again in the first. Every punch seemed to rattle Famke and send her reeling, recalling the damage of past fights from which the rangy brunette has never really recovered. Famke get out of the round, but be betrayed by her high cheekbones and prominent brows--badly busted up under Kidman’s accurate hardhearted punching. The second saw Nicole continue to steadily attack behind her jab, placing right hands at will on Famke’s raw-boned face, and again, Janssen’s long pale legs trembled and shook, threatening to give way as the brunette staggered hurt pillar to post. In the third, Janssen began to get her own jab off, surprising Kidman who isn’t used to being run onto an opponent’s jab at lightweight and finally, Famke managed to stop the bleeding by boxing Kidman to a standstill. And then , fourth round would erupt, going down as one of the very best tall-girl brawling rounds of the year.

Kidman did her best to close fame close--pounding away relentlessly with glorious, spearing long rights over Janssen’s left shoulder, but the lanky Belgian refused to go. As Nicole’s form grew wild--Famke started tagging her back, nailing a thudding right on the jaw as Kidman attempted to pull back--both beauties growing ramshackle from damage, both desperate to finish. It ended as both leaned into slamming rights to the jaw and Kidman folded back from the collision, sprawling mindlessly on her back as Janssen staggered away on her heels. Nicole wouldn’t even hear the 10 count much less beat it--Janssen would collapse in her corner on the verge of submission herself. Famke gets hit too much a pedestrian puncher like Kidman had Janssen careening, but the sexy brunette’s got buckets of heart and enough pop to be a danger to anyone at sub130.
