Before: Alba coming off a brave, but losing performance--little doubt in  most observer’s minds that young Jess has come down to a must win against vicious Jaime P. Pressly bogged down in the worst slump of her career--maybe Jessica getting her at a good time, but Jaime’s deadly serious about righting her own ship. “I’m hurting Jessica,” Pressly says in preflight, “that’s it, that’s the whole plan. Hurt her, finish her, move on. Jessica Alba won’t get out of the third round with me.” Jaime in classy-serve black bikini, short blonde bob, white shoes and gloves, Jessica in red bandeau bikini, black shoes and gloves.

During R1: Sleek lithe lines all around, girls nice and loose, stepping smartly around one another, then going flat footed, looking for leverage. Alba with her hands up, palms out as she moves, batting the left to measure Jaime, throwing sudden right hands straight at Pressly’s face. Pressly crouching and straightening, sliding into range, bending into whippy rights, crowding close, then trying to pull the slinging left across Alba’s face while dipping right. Nifty supple action, lots of ring coverage--Jessica on control by the final minute as she starts to circle Jaime, containing the blonde with superior footwork.

R2: Jaime jumping in, looping the right hand wide to stroke Alba’s jaw, crowding in close, shrugging home the left, getting another swabbing right--Jessica stumbling backward as her face takes licks. Jess striding out, opening up the canvas to regroup. Pressly glaring as she whittles down the ring, feints in, steps out then times a HAMMER right uppercut as Alba darts forward, catching Jess on the point of the chin. ALBA GIES DOWN! Shattering blow brings a shout from the crowd--Alba dropped to her back, writhing in shock--she BARELY beats the count. Oh, shabby Jess--ON COMES JAIME! Pressly marching as Alba reclines ropeside--blonde dipping in to whiplash a wide right hand to the ribcage, dipping out to take a look-see--Jessica cringing, digging in. Jaime with a licking right on the jaw, slashing left on the jaw, long limber strokes cinched up tight to make devastating contact--Alba just absorbing the shock,. Limp in the strands and THE REF JUMPS IN! Jessica out on her feet--Pressly trying to get in some cheap shots as the ref bodies her back--TKO2 Jaime Pressly.

After: Alba devastated, stunned into submission by whip-mitted Jaime P. Pressly climbing the ring ropes and screeching at her fans--her biggest triumph in a log time lifts the monkey of svelte blonde’s back. Talk about a crossroads bout! Jessica’s future in limbo--this was exactly the kind of performance she could at least afford, a very chinny, shaky loss indeed. Matters worse--Carmen Electra ringside jumping to the apron and shouting abuse at the slumbering brunette lending credence to rumours that Alba’s loss just might be Carmen’s gain
