Before: Ringside broadcaster’s table welcomes an enthusiastic Terry Farrell to the guest mic. “It’s great to be here,” says Farrell, ‘and what a terrific match up! Visser’s one of those new-breed athletes--very fit, very quick. You know she showed some power against Ali Landry, but she’s not really a big puncher, she’s more of an attrition fighter, discouraging girls with her legs and work rate. Romijn’s one of may favourites, and no, not because she reminds me of me--but she foes have that educated jab and those long lines that can really dominate a big-girl fight, I’d say it does really boil down to Becky’s jab--if she can neutralized Visser’s speed then I think Romijn can control Nikki, maybe even stop her. I don’t think Nikki can count on finishing Becky early--she’s got to go to the body, jab with the jabber and counter well to make Romijn think twice about throwing the stick. It’s a juicy match up, any way you slice it--I can’t wait to see how it turns out!” Visser in white bikini top, blue and white splash print, tie side bottoms--Becky in black bikini top, grey bottoms.

During 1,2: Terry oohing and aahing over Becky’s jab--Romijn owning center ring, pounding away on Nikki’s face, chest and shoulders with long left hands, making Visser pay for every offensive rush. Becky dropping a reaming stick over Nik’s shoulder, but also dipping and backhanding the punch up into the face from underneath--ref warning Romijn early and often. Nikki unable to establish a rhythm--Romijn boxes to take both rounds.

R3: Romijn stooping down to belly jab Nikki--Becky starting to enjoy herself and ROMIJN GOES DOWN! Visser with lightning bolt counter right hand, catches Beck as she reaches for the tummy once too often--Romijn sputtering to all fours as Nikki chops cheek. Becky rattled, but in good shape--she gets on her bicycle the rest of the way, conceding the round, but refusing Nikki the chance to put together a finishing run. Farrell appreciative of Romijn’s presence of mind--”Becky’s showing real maturity tonight.”

R4: Romijn still on the run--stung and dropped by Visser--big blonde very rushed, almost panicky as she thrusts the jab out, skirts the perimeter with Visser in stalking pursuit. Nikki moving her head well side to side, weaving the stick, scooting with her feet and leading with straight right hands to the sternum--Visser trying to settle Romijn down with body work and ring her up the hook to chops. Becky utilizing groping, long-armed clinches to compliment her jab, accepting Visser onto her chest and reclining into the ropes--Nikki clearly frustrated, but also the aggressor--she pulls into the lead on all cards.

R5: Nikki pressing, thrusting lead rights to the body--now it’s Becky’s turn to lure her foe into hurt. Second minute--Becky fades a reaching Visser right, immediately angles in and down with a long walloping right on the ear and VISSER’S STUNNED! Nik soaking up shock, dazzled at midring--she covers up woozy--Becky steps to the right, touching nik with the right palm to measure and REEFING at her midsection with that whip-arm hook, Visser beaten in stages to the ropes--Becky stepping with and shoveling it on--free-swinging, looping power shots, meanspirited backhand jabs to set things up--poor Nikki just reeling, trying to keep her guard together. Romijn often long with her wider shots, wrapping around Nik’s shoulders--Becky using it  to her advantage to pull Nikki into headlocks, turn her and drag Nikki’s eyes and open mouth across the top rope as the girls stagger along the apron. Ref busy taking a call on his cell misses most of the infraction--but Visser outraged--she’s rung up, bullied this round as Becky gets into Aussie’s head a bit.

R6: Visser shaky-legged--Romijn re-asserts command midring. POUNDING jabs slam away at the upper chest and face of Visser--she’s leaning away from the pulsing punishment, hands up, face pinched--Romijn leaning into tearing right crosses as Nikki stands up pretty for the blows. Visser trying to counter-attack, getting low and looking to close distance, but Becky’s hanging back behind the jab, waiting on vicious right uppercuts that intercept Nikki’s chin, wobbly Aussie backside and sending her staggering back the way she came. Masterful bell to bell dominance shown by rangy Romijn--Visser punished, disorganized in comparison.

R7: Nikki doubles up her jab, refusing to concede the punch to Romijn--getting the better if fencing thrust and parry in the first minute. Pendulum swings back to Romijn as she closes up her stance, backhands that jab and slides in with her left shoulder impacting hard against Nikki’s jaw, blocking Visser of balance. Nikki with sharp combinations down the stretch, rolling her shoulders to spank Becky’s tummy, cleaning up with a tight hook up top--Romijn defensive, right at her cheek, left across her body, leaning over to her right as Visser out punches her in the 7th.

R8: Romijn collects another gorgeous counter right uppercut to stagger Visser early--Becky’s jab channeling Nikki’s attack straight into the punch and Visser’s put wobbly butt once again. Romijn measuring Visser with stick, then leaning into screaming right hands over the top--even hurt, Nikki has the presence of mind to duck-with, take the sting off these missiles. Down the stretch, Nikki in a nice bob-and-counter rhythm, ducking under Becky’s right, snap-snatching at Romijn’s long torso with tight combinations spank-spank off the ribs to avoid the shutout.
]
R9: Visser mounts a sustained rally late, showing off those tireless gams, hounding a fading Becky Romijn around the ring. Rebecca mouth breathing, pushing out the jab as she backpedals--hard, decisive punches rocket back from Visser as she chops out either hand from her chest. Becky caught repeatedly on the mouth--she’s in constant retreat as Visser up tempos, closes with her feet and gets off jagged with either hand, straight punches. Shutout Visser.

R10: Becky with that gorgeous, spearing stick, hammering Nikki’s head back in the first minute--Visser forced to step out and circle, recalculate her angles. Second minute--Nikki flutter-jabbing up at Romijn’s face, ducking in and down to bounce hard right hands off the torso, then swivel-pivoting to the left--Becky’s turn to look flustered, step put and circle to regroup. Down the stretch it’s anybody’s fight--Visser trying to penetrate, but Romijn keeping her distance, using the ring well and pacing Nikki out with long, well-timed jabs to the bell. long delay as cards are tallied and retallied--comes back UD10 CLOSE…Rebecca Romijn.

After: Farrell whistling at the scoring--basically decided in the last minute of the fight as Becky preserved the win, Romijn drawing some criticism of fouls--the backhand jab which is epidemic in the FCBA and outrageous rope-burning she gave Nikki which isn’t--but Becky shrugs it off with the old “If Cat Bell had done those things--you guys would be calling it ‘veteran savvy’” routine. “I don’t agree with that,” says terry in post fight summary. “Becky can’t compare herself to Cat--I mean, it’s a fine line between being rough with a girl and outright fouling her, and Becky crossed it tonight, pure and simple. I don’t want to diminish how she handled Nikki though--Becky’s got the best stick in the division now and Visser had problems with it. You know, with Becky, Ali and Nikki, and maybe Daisy Fuentes if she gets her act together--this division is in very good hands. Any one of these girls is good enough to expel Kristanna Loken, who is nothing more than a cheap opportunist who’s looking a little gushy of middleweight punchers to me.”
