The Best of Seven series is a relatively new concept to be introduced in the FCBA.  However, in the span of a few short years, it has managed to earn a reputation both as the most awe-inspiring and most demanding type of gimmick that the FCBA has ever known. 

On paper, the premise is simple - two contenders engage in a series of fights until one of the two has won four matches.  The reality, however, is far more complex - merely participating in one of these series all but guarantees that the two fighters will go down in FCBA history as having one of its great rivalries.  Due to this distinction, the stakes are automatically raised - while all fighters want to go down as having won a Best of Seven, no one wants to be remembered as having lost one.  Thus, competitors will usually give everything they have to win. 

The emotional toll of a Best of Seven series can be heavy, especially if the two fighters were already engaged in a heated rivalry, then the price of defeat can be especially high.  Win or lose, the effects on a fighter's subsequent performance are often quite noticable. The term "career-ender" is not thrown around lightly.

To date, no Best of Seven series in the FCBA has made it to a seventh fight.
