BEFORE: "I'll work her to ribbons," predicts a bubbly Billie P in prefight. "Jewel's strong, but she's getting old and she's never been hard to find. I'm the British Buzz Saw and I never stop punching...Jewel's going to be battered silly!" Kilcher acting every inch the favourite, giving Billie her due...but not an inch more. "She'll be tough early," Jewel predicts. "I expect her to come on like a whirlwind, spend herself up against my defences, then I'll slowly take the fight from her. End of the day, she's a poor man's Allison Mack...and I've got the real deal working with me in camp, so...do the math!" Billie in white sport top; shades-of-blue ocean print swimsuit bottoms twist-tied at sides; white gloves; hair in battle bun with bangs framing face. Jewel in pink bikini; white gloves; hair back in smooth low ponytail.

During R1: Jewel in frame defence - right cupping her temple; left at her chin, elbows in. Billie in weaving earmuff, looking to get close with hooks, bang-and-bump once inside. Jewel trying to stubby-jab but Piper weaving under-and-in...Billie able to drive Kilcher back under swarming pressure. Jewel safe behind her guard, but walloped about her lats/arms/ears...Billie a non-stop force atop Jewel, suppressing her, owning her at ropes.

R2: Jewel stabbing jab out from her guard, tracking Billie better: whole different fight. Kilcher able to hook off the jab, cuffing Billie on the ear as Piper's leaning forward. Jewel stepping in off the jab, bumping left-shoulder into Billie's chest, stepping her back. Jewel working both sides of the waist right/left in close: Piper keeping elbows in, then clubbing back in reprisal. Down the stretch, Jewel working her plan...she nips Billie a swatting-short left hook inside as Piper's loading up a sweeping hook...BILLIE'S ROCKED! BP stepping in fence post holes, all wobbly-butt and hurt at the bell.

R3: Brutal, hard fought exchanges on the inside - Jewel getting shoulder to shoulder and swapping chop with busy Billie. Girls keeping elbows in, bobbing on the spot, trying to bend into short, chopping lefts or rights: it's thick, hatchet-style punching inside. Billie bangs out the advantage, though Jewel won't back up and is obviously taking Piper's punch very well through 3.

R4: Pendulum swings back to Jewel. Same close-in bashing back and forth, but Jewel's stepping her body into Billie, pushing her back, walking her down. LIttle bit of extra aggression and tummy-on-tummy beligerence proving the difference in a close heat.

R5: Same again - Jewel pushing off on Billie, then walking her down. Piper fighting hard in all the exchanges - still trading those vicious, short-chopping lefts and rights inside...it's just that Kilcher's got Piper giving ground.

R6: Billie finally stops Jewel's forward progress - bumping and mauling to hold canvas. Girls mopping each other's upperchests with sweaty foreheads as they shift position side to side - pulling hard rights or lefts into offending lats or temples. Billie working an extra thick left hook in under Jewel's elbows to get at that belly: Kilcher ashen faced, giving ground to ropes where Piper cleans up for swarming points. Jewel still standing after facing into a swinging right/left clean on either jawline...Kilcher's legs proving extra sturdy under Billie's clocking haymakers.

R7: Oh the humanity...fighters stumble into ropes, take turns reversing each other around, working each other over on the cables. Bruising, artless work...fighters pushing in with left shoulders or scalps, pumping to offending belly, hooking up top to pound jug, clanging away on skulls in short, chopping delivery. Only difference is Billie's batting double hook landing loud in Jewel's paunch...Piper digging for points like a little badger through 7.

R8: First listless round for Jewel as she's bodied to ropes, then basically covers up, looking to counter off the black. Billie given free rein to belt the waistliine/paunch both hands; clobber away on ears/temples; push and bully to her heart's content, trying to beat down Jewel's air-tight guard. Kilcher sponging it all up - never in danger of going down, but hanging around in one spot, getting shoved-and-slugged by a busy little brit ain't gonna get it done.

R9: Billie much invigorated by signs of fatigure from Jewel: Piper atop Kilcher at ropes, working her over systematico. Kilcher just lounging, slow-rolling her torso in the pocket, keeping dukes pressed tight to cheeks, elbows in. Billie grunting as she slams away - lefts and rights bouncing loud off lats; digging hooks pounding that paunch; clubbing wallop rebounding off scalp. Piper repeatedly trying to reach in, wrestle apart the guard and get at that rack: all that does is give Jewel the opportunity to tie up and get ref's breaks.

R10: Another bell to bell suppressive effort, Piper on Jewel...Kilcher just covered up and taking, confident she can take Billie's weight. Jewel absorbing terrific punishment, but not moving her hands...she's just there for Billie's fists, solid and sullen as Piper's hands spank-bounce off Alaskan beef. Nothing fancy - Billie just squared away, grunting and working and pushing on Jewel. Bell: Billie still shoving in heavy, straight rights and lefts to Jewel's stubborn guard until ref pulls little Britain away. Comes back UD10, Billie Piper.

After: Piper overjoyed - hugging and jumping around in victory...Jewel downcast, sweaty, ass-kicked and non-expressive. "I just had too much vigor for her," Billie bleats in postfight, obviously thrilled with the work. "She's tough - very durable - but I proved early on that if she punched-with me, I WOULD knock her out. There was never any doubt about that. Jewel Kilcher chose to survive rather than compete tonight and I can't blame her!"
