Before: Raitano continues to build Mo with hand picked cuties--Eggert a feather-fisted slugger, but the “Baywatch”  pedigree gives her cred. Pundits eagerly watching Raitano’s every move as Natalie billed as the “Next Big Thing” by the media, with super fights on the horizon. Nat in black push up bra, red retro bikini bottoms, Nicole in flower print push up bikini, ponytail.

During R1,2: Eggert giving Natalie a little lesson on in-fighting early as Raitano walks straight in, loading up for one punch, and getting drilled, smothered by Nicole’s savvy tactics. Early in the first, Raitano eats a lead right hand blasts as Nicole times her perfectly, bending low on follow through and tying Nat up around the waist. Raitano spends the rest of the round shaking off cobwebs, often held and hit as Nicole fights inside Nat’s trunks as it were. Second round more of the same--Raitano unable to really torque it up with Nicole on top of her--Eggert wrapping up Raitano’s right arm, walking her onto her heels, working the clubbing right in on Nat’s breasts and belly. Eggert up 2 rounds to love as Raitano show tell-tale signs of frustration/inexperience.

R3,4: The real Raitano makes her appearance, grabbing back points in bunches with good sustained pressure in these rounds. Eggert unable to clinch consistently, forced to retreat and Natalie exploit’s the collapse with running rights and lefts to Nicole’s body, pinning the blonde to the perimeter with a shoulder and strong leg drive. Raitano earned for straying low the double hook to the belly. Nicole clearly outraged as fouls pile up.

R5: Great two-way action erupts as Nicole retreats in good order, stepping back, bending low at the waist to get into a nice slip and counter rhythm, begins to tag Natalie as Raitano surges forward. Raitano winging her punches, still loading up, but sheer volume is starting to get to Nicole as she is rattled by the odd spanking haymaker. Late in the round, Natalie swings a wild left hand over the top, off balance and Nicole steps in and under, pivots, and clocks a sweet left hand from the oblique angle, catching Nat clean on the jaw over her left shoulder. Raitano dropped to her side gets up wide-eyed and shocked. Nicole caps the round with a surprising beta down of Raitano on the ropes--Natalie standing straight up, gloves at her face, taking lefts and rights in between and around her mitts as Nicole piles on at the bell.

R6,7,8: Natalie Raitano takes revenge with three punishing rounds of body punching, walking Nicole down, banging with 6 and 7 punch flurries, then chasing as Eggert starts to run. The seventh sees Nat at her best, punishing a desperate Eggert along the ropes as the blonde bobs, slides, blocks, but can’t answer the brunette’s punches. Natalie more controlled, settled down, fires from a compact stance, ripping her punches, and pulling her fists back into her boldly to reset as she explodes into the blonde. After 8, Nicole isn’t the same fighter, badly swollen along the left side of her face, and looking worn.

R9: Nicole with a shutout! Eggert pre-empting Raitano with a short left jab, right cross on the mouth, then clinching, has Natalie stumbling into punches this round. Raitano uncertain, gloves at her lips as she stands outside, then walking in, gets picked up by the one-twos, then reaches behind Eggert’s back to accept the clinch as her corner goes ballistic. Fight is even going into the 10th, and Natalie’s corner lets her hear it.

R10: Raitano answers with a punishing shutout of her own, getting her face on Nicole’s chest and rolling her shoulders to bludgeon fists into blonde belly from bell to bell,. Nicole grimacing, cheek bunched up against Raitano’s sweaty scalp, can’t get off, and hasn’t got enough left to push Raitano away. Eggert clinching, slowing the action down, sits on the ropes, soaking up punches whenever she can’t tie her brunette up. Raitano leaning in, legs out straight behind her, keeps the weight on, and leaves Nicole trembling at the bell. Long wait for the judges’ decision comes back narrowly in favour of Raitano--scattered booing upon announcement.

After: Surprising effort from Eggert exposes Raitano to some degree. “She can’t fight inside,” Nicole assesses. “She hits hard to the body, but she doesn’t know what she’s doing. I was in control the whole time and its just a shame that judges don’t appreciate ring generalship anymore.” Maybe a little biased and self-serving, but Raitano did struggle on occasion, looking indecisive when Eggert didn’t just fold up and blow away. Still, Raitano’s response to being knocked down shows she’s not just a typical bully, and is the positive she can take away from this fight.
