Charlize Theron (5'10"; 36y/o; 130#) vs. Anne Hathaway (5'8"; 28y/o; 123#) by simgrrl

Theron-Hathaway had been expected to be the 'main event' after a Jen Lawrence-Blake Lively tilt, but negotiations bogged down and then Lawrence moved on to face Elizabeth Banks. Charlize had been working with Jen "personally" while preparing for her own fight with Anne Hathaway; taking advantage of own Jen's recent experience against Hathaway. Theron not bashful in laying Jen's problems to a, "...lack of experience" as well as, "...some improper training methods."

Charlize insisting Jen put in the necessary time - and maybe lose five pounds or so to reach her ideal fighting weight! She also mentioned Jen "...hopefully can increase her endurance which has seemed to be a problem since she does well in the opening minutes of rounds, but then fades late." Adding, "Opponents are aware of it and have used it against her so fitness is 'job one' that, and working on her jab and timing, movement.. all of that."

Charlize wants Jen to take on Blake Lively, which seems a tall order (and Blake is taller). Also, since Lively has already beaten Theron in ...a shocker...there's one school of thought (Tractorpull) that thinks Theron is trying to use Lawrence as a risk-free way of getting 'payback' on Lively! Charlize doesn't think Blake can box all that well. "She's just another big puncher," she explains. "IF I'd boxed with her instead of slugging, I'd have torn her up."

Of course, critics quickly point out this could simply be a case of Charlize trying to use Jen to do her dirty work for her...perhaps soften Lively up for a Theron challenge. And since Lawrence's next fight isn't set, it's something that Charlize is angling for. Jen keeping her own counsel in public, leading to speculation that she may well bite... but instead she settled on someone else...Elizabeth Banks, Lawrence's costar in "Hunger Games" where there were rumors of friction on the set between the two.

Theron-Hathaway the 'main event' but the prelim turned out to be Jen Lawrence-Elizabeth Banks instead of Lawrence-Lively! In prefight interviews, a grumpy Theron making no secret she's "disappointed" with Lawrence for "ignoring my advice" and signing to fight Banks instead of Theron's preferred opponent, Lively!

Lawrence putting her foot down, asserting her independence. "I appreciate the time Charlize spent with me in training; she's a valuable resource - as a sparring partner - but she's not my manager, or my trainer. My team and I make our decisions based on what we feel is in MY best interest, not necessarily what's best for Theron's long-range schemes. I've no doubt Charlize wants to repay Blake for what must have been a stinging defeat, but I'm not here to pave the way for her. She can do her own heavy lifting. If she wants to get Blake in the ring all she has to do is ask since I'm sure Lively is looking forward to proving her win was no fluke!" (ouch!)

Attire: Theron wearing her usual cream color bikini, hair in a ponytail, feet bare; Hathaway, hair in a battle braid, chooses a bright red, sheer lace, bra/panty combo with white thigh-hi's and black trainers. White gloves for both women.

During R1: The crowd still buzzing about the great finish to the prelim as the bell rings for the main event. Hathaway springing off her stool, leaping into Charlize before the big blonde gets halfway across the ring. Anne getting to Charlize's body in the opening minute with hammering hooks; digging right hands...and a couple of well-placed elbows out of the referee's sight! Theron breathing hard in the second minute, using her height/weight advantages to bully the smaller brunette back to open up room for her punches. Charlize scoring with the left hook to the body as Hathaway stays aggressive but Anne landing a couple of big rights: getting the better of the trades! Theron unable to get off as Hathaway's swarming body attack forces the blonde to fight on the defensive down the stretch; letting the younger woman showboat with flashy combinations that buffet Theron's head about on her shoulders.
Hathaway beaming back to her corner; Charlize grumpily back onto her stool with a sweaty SPLAT of glutes on wood.

Charlize showing both anger and frustration, and receiving a snide quip from Bell as a consequence. "Well, I know you like Lawrence, but letting this b###h smack you around just so they'll forget what she did to Lawrence is going a bit far... don't you think?"
"Aww, cut the crap, she just got the jump on me," Charlize grumbles. "OK...she's fast I admit, but I'm going to slow her ass down. She's got that big nose and she'll need a new one after the next round!"

R2: Anne calm as she stands before the bell and is out on cue. Charlize is out fast too, on her toes, guard up and ready this time. The brunette steps in to pick up where she left off, and eats a hard Theron jab that bounces off her jaw. Stubbornly the brunette keeps on coming, throwing one of her own. No one home Charlize is in constant movement and constant jabs and rights have Anne eating leather and off balance. But instead of backing off, she tucks her chin looking to get inside, and does but she can only get one off before Theron snaps off a quick combination and then is gone. Now, it's Hathaway that seems a step behind. Theron's controlling the pace and picking the fights, Anne's slowly being steered back towards the ropes.
It's one forward and two back as Theron has set a furious pace. Anne bores in again still determined and Theron nails her with an uppercut that snaps her head back, hair flying as she staggers away and hits the ropes. Now Theron settles down and opens up her big guns. It's two up top, and three down low. Anne's moving away, but not fast enough as Theron uses those long legs to keep her target in front of her, Hathaway is hitting back, desperately as Theron as just beating her down the ropes under constant bombardment. Another big right lands like a thunder clap and Anne falls into the corner catching the top rope for support. Charlize seems to smile as she moves in, and Anne lunges forward and grabs the bigger blonde by her biceps and just won't let go. Charlize struggles but can't seem to wrestle out of her grip.
Ref breaks in and pulls them apart and, somehow, Anne manages to spin them both around so Theron's back ends up in the corner. Taking a big breath, Charlize sends out a jab, but Anne slips it and the right that follows! Hathaway's able to duck under and come up a solid right to Charlize left breast that has her gasping off balance. Looks like this is what Anne had been waiting for! She pounces like a wildcat on wounded prey. A right from Anne bounces off Charlize chin, sending a shimmy down those long golden thighs. Theron's jab misses and Anne goes gut! Anne has the bigger blonde sucking air and Charlize is forced to back-step behind a wild roundhouse right that may have worked if it had landed before Anne's own roundhouse right. But it's Theron's head rocked as she is driven back to the turnbuckle hurt!
Hathaway fans on their feet cheering as the brunette goes to work like she's on fire; pounding Theron with everything she can! Theron tries punching back, but it's all off-balance, unfocused and ineffective. Anne's beating Theron's arms and body and... THE BLONDE'S DOWN!! A solid right short-circuits Theron's legs and she goes dodwn in a heap, on her right side; all awkward and dazed. Anne stands over her, screaming at her, "Get up and fight!" Hathaway kicks Theron's butt for emphasis before the ref can grab her and pull her away. Theron's not out, but she's taking her time, shaking her head. That was no slip, but she seems OK if a bit winded.
The count reaches eight before she's upright; the ref checking her while Anne does a victory dance across the ring. It's not over, but they're celebrating anyway. Ref checking Theron closely, her head bowed, but she seems OK and in comes Anne as Theron goes into reverse... DING! DING!

Theron's expression turns from panic to relief as, shoulders slumped, she wanders to her corner where Bell waits grim-faced. Hathaway marches to her corner, gloves up, fans cheering...a stark contrast to Theron's backers who sit in stunned silence, and disbelief at what they've seen - Hathaway mopping up their big, heavily-favored blonde 'Goddess.'

R3: Theron gets a slap on the backside from Cat Bell as she stands for the third round. Hathaway already on her feet, eager to resume her assault on the 'Queen' (Sinatra reference). Charlize working behind that 'stick and move' jab, circling to her right, forcing Hathaway to move her feet more than in previous rounds; opening up her left side for chopping rights over Anne's left shoulder. Hathaway shaken several times; the second one buckling her knees briefly before she can clinch and tie up Theron's arms. Charlize digging to the body, freeing her right hand and coming over the top to rattle Anne's head once more.
Theron shoving Anne away, creating punching room, whistles a hard right that Anne just leans back away from in time. Hathaway bouncing on her toes, turning and jogging away, forcing Charlize to chase. Anne stopping, turning right, dropping low under Theron's left to drive a sweet left hook to the breadbasket that doubles the blonde over gasping. Anne straightens up behind an uppercut that rocks Theron back on her heels! Now it's Charlize desperately hanging on, clinching, tying up Anne as they wrestle along the ropes. Hathaway hammering the body with gut-busting blows; Charlize's face pinched in breathless agony as she wraps her arms around Anne's shoulders.
Hathaway shrugging off Theron's embrace, whipping a short, chopping right across the blonde's cleavage that brings a bleat of pain from Charlize's lips. Anne, head on Charlize's chest, piston-punching with both hands to the body, then coming up the middle with lightening strike uppercuts to pound puppy! Charlize gaping-mouthed in pain, body arched back over the top rope; Anne just punching away at that long, exposed, mid-section as Charlize baby-steps along the ropes to her corner where she gets stacked and racked again! Closing seconds, Theron lands a desperation left hook to the mouth that shakes Hathaway to her core and both women hang on to the other at the bell!
Both battered beauties trudge back to their corners: Theron folding limp onto her stool, her flushed bosom heaving, gulping in air. Bell apparently wanting to scream at her charge, but realizes those hard body shots by Hathaway have her hurting. "You've got to keep her away, champ. Jab... and for God's sake, stay off the ropes!" Theron merely nods.
Hathaway getting a hurried ice pack to her swollen left eye as she contributes a gob of bloody saliva to her spit bucket. Her eye is cut and they're desperately trying to stop the bleeding. Ringsiders can't tell what's being said, but the seconds actions are frantic.

R4: Bell sounds and Charlize is up fast, having regained her breath. Anne's a bit slower, and Charlize greets her with a couple jabs, that mostly land, but it's not the brunette's style to back up. She seems willing to eat a few to get to her feast. She gets in a combination and Theron gasps and backs up a step. Anne advances again, and takes and upper cut to the chops, this time without a reward, as Theron's back on her toes. She's hard to find when she in that mode and Anne takes another couple jabs for the trouble. even though she still aggressive it's clear she's not liking this. Impatiently she lunges inside, the right lands, but the left is shot and Theron hammers a right to the top of Hathaway's head, her legs shake as Theron snaps off another jab that cracks off Anne's ear and she drifts sideways. Trading with the big blonde is NOT a contest she can win!
Anne's got her gloves up, but before she can get anything Theron slips inside and goes for the brunette's chest. a couple taps, that get Anne's attention. As her gloves come down a notch. Theron gets off a left jab that lifts Anne's head a bit and ... WHAM... a Thunder Clap right lands right on target and the brunette's head snaps back and to the left...(later repeated viewing of the video shows clearly it's back and to the left... back and to the left...back and to the left...)
Anne's legs are trying to catch up with the rest of her, but it's too much. She seems to almost have regained her footing when - there's Theron again, hammering back to her chest and Anne folds as she staggers back, falling against the ring post. Another left uppercut and her arms drop to her sides, eyes rolled back, hair flying. Anne's lifted up onto her toes, but before she settles back down, Theron - sooo focused - nails her with still another straight right flush on the pretty brunette's exposed chin!

Yabbada...yabbada...that's all folks! Anne's out cold before she hits the mat... which she does, hard, face first! Theron, knowing the fight is over, dances back to make room as Hathaway does a half-gainer. There's no need to count, everyone knows, like Charlize, that Hathaway ist kaput! Charlize adds the exclamation point; planting her foot on Anne's round butt, arms flexing, gloves clenched overhead, beaming with victory. Her fans eat it up...Hathaway's supporters, not so much!
The ref pulls Theron away, leans down for a closer look to be sure, then waves for the medics. Ann's out cold as a mackerel. Charlize Theron the winner by KO at 1:57 of the 4th round!

After: Theron ecstatic... "She's nothing! If she didn't fight dirty, she'd be nothing. You could all see it; once I hit her, she had nothing left. I should have dragged it out...pay her for the way she treated Jen, but I was just sick of the b*tch. Take a good look; see what I did to her; and she was talking like I'm scared of her? Do I look afraid? Yeah, after all the crap she was talking I just wanted to lay her out.. they'll have to stretcher her out... she's nothing I tell you...nothing!"

Cat Bell comes over, puts a robe over Theron's shoulders and prods her toward the exit, is overheard telling her, "That's enough Charlize, time to leave her wreckage behind and move on to bigger...and better...things."

During an interview later that night, Jen Lawrence was asked what she thought. Not surprisingly she said, "I was very happy to see Anne get 'crushed' although Charlize seemed to wear down as each round wound down. Perhaps she should heed her own advice about conditioning..." then seemed to realize what she'd said and added quickly, "But really, Charlize is THE star of this evening."

Critics from "Tractorpull" would point out, "Charlize seemed to run out of gas late in the rounds; something that's been a worrying trend for her lately. Maybe her training's not up to her old standard?"

Certainly Jen Lawrence has noticed and critically sniffed, "I don't see where she comes off telling ME that I need to work harder when she looked like an old woman in some of those later rounds. She's just lucky she wasn't in with one of the big hitters like Lively, Prepon, Righetti, Biel or even the Cat Bell of ten - or fifteen - years ago!"
