Prefight comments by Kylie Minogue

This is set to be the fight of the night. Two beautiful girls, one a Czech model and Victoria’s Secret Angel in Karolina Kurkova, who has had one fight for one KO victory. The other is a Miss Universe and face of Myer in Jennifer Hawkins, who has also had just the one fight, where she lost her AWUBA Lightweight Title to Abbie Cornish. This is probably Downunder's last hope to level the series but the Lioness Club’s best chance to put it beyond doubt.

Round 1

Kurkova working behind the jab, on the attack early and has Hawkins backing up but Jen is working her jab in retreat. Jen planting her feet now, ducking under the jab, and firing good shots into the Kurkova six pack. Kurkova working that straight jab, landing several punches to Hawkins face. Really strong right jabs by Kurkova, HARD RIGHT HOOK and another STRAIGHT JAB put Hawkins on notice at the bell.

Danni: Good round there by Kurkova, on the attack right from the beginning and Hawkins didn’t really have the answer.

Kylie: Well that’s one round Hawkins has to get back.

Round 2

Hawkins getting underneath the Kurkova jab this time and blasting her left hook into Kurkova’s ribs. Kurkova looks a little breathless, wincing as those hooks continue to blasting into her ribs. Kurkova backs into the ropes, throwing the jab at Hawkins face who has switched off and is relentless in her attack at the body. Kurkova tries to spin off the ropes and loses her footing with a Hawkins hook digging right into her lower back. The ref giving a warning to Hawkins but that was unavoidable. Hawkins continues the body onslaught, blasting hooks into her mid-section and DOWN GOES KURKOVA right on the bell.

Danni: Big round by Hawkins. Absolutely dominating that round and the body work was all too much for Kurkova.

Kylie: The Czech girl couldn’t take it anymore; it will be very interesting to see how she starts the next round.

Round 3

A surprising start from Kurkova who goes toe to toe with Hawkins. Ugly exchanges in the middle. Hawkins continuing the body onslaught, having her way with her stomach and ribs and consistently backing Kurkova up. Kurkova still firing that jab into the Aussies face, taking more body shots and clinching. Out of the clinch and Kurkova buries a STRAIGHT JAB in Hawkins face and that backs Jen up. Hawkins cut. Kurkova landed some pretty little jabs right in the money, good combinations of jabs and hooks following and suddenly Hawkins face a reddened. Kurkova finishing the round with lightening quick combinations to the Hawkins chin to the bell.

Danni: Brilliant finish from Kurkova as Jen was looking at continuing the body attack.

Kylie: Jen is cut, her face is red. Kurkova has a fiery red torso and is puffing a little. And it’s only the end of the 3rd.

Danni: A long way to go sis.

Kylie: Kimberly Davies has not stopped giving it to Liz Hurley either by the way. And Liz has started giving it back!

Round 4

Hawkins back on the attack, ducking the Kurkova jab and driving her back to the ropes with that body onslaught, beating her ribs with vicious hooks and touching her up with jabs to the chest. Kurkova taking shots but landing strong jabs to Hawkins forehead. Hawkins relentlessly pounding away at the Czech’s stomach, CRASHING RIGHT HOOK as Kurkova tries to cover it with her elbow but not before another CRASHING RIGHT HOOK smashes into the same spot and she falls to the canvas, KURKOVA DOWN! The Czech wheezing in agony but toughs it out and she is on her feet at 6. Kurkova fighting through the pain, trading hooks with Hawkins, but takes another head shot to the face and stumbles to the corner. LEFT HOOK to the temple Hawkins turns Kurkova shaky on her feet and she cops a pasting of jabs, uppercuts and hooks to the bell.

Danni: Hawkins all over Kurkova that round. Although the Czech is still landing punches but she has gone down for the second time this fight due to powerful body blows. She can’t sustain that for much longer.

Kylie: And Jen just treated herself at the end to Kurkova’s open face and the poor Czech is a site for sore eyes at the end of the round.

Round 5

Hawkins consistent body blows continue but now she comes up for some tidy uppercuts to Kurkova’s chin. Kurkova totally on the back foot, trying to dance away, no more advancing from the Czech. She is working from the outside but it is no good. Jen is just relentless, ducking under soft jobs and looping hooks to fire 3 and 4 hooks to the body and then blast those uppercuts directly under the Kurkova chin. Hawkins now landing precision jabs to the face, landing SOLID HOOKS to her temple and Kurkova looks to be out on her feet. Kurkova swaying, bobbing, trying to get away from the Aussie onslaught but every punch is scoring at its all Hawkins to the bell.

Danni: She is totally in control now Hawkins. Kurkova really with nothing to offer. Sucking hard, several cuts, red raw belly. I think this could be all over this round sis.

Kylie: Yeah the Czech has not offered much for a round and half.

Danni: Just quietly, did you notice Liz Hurley is out of her seat and Warnie is now standing between her and Kim?

Kylie: Interesting.

Round 6

Kurkova throws and lands a SOLID JAB to Hawkins nose, splits it, Hawkins cut and bleeding. Kurkova pouncing firing weakfish jabs and hooks at the Hawkins face. The Aussie blinking, back pedaling, gloves up, palms out, swatting at the Kurkova offering. Kurkova pounding the jab through Hawkins schoolgirl guard, knocking Hawkins head back and forth. Hawkins back hits the corner has Kurkova wades in, ripping uppercuts into her belly, Hawkins heaving, eyes wide, mouth agape. Kurkova driving the STRAIGHT JAB into her open mouth, RIGHT HOOK to the temple, LEFT HOOK to the temple and DOWN GOES HAWKINS! Brutal knockdown out of nowhere by Kurkova has the Aussie flapping around on the canvas like a stunned mullet. Hawkins up at 8, long face, tears and blood streaming down her face, eyes puffing up and knees shaking. The ref lets it go. ON COMES KURKOVA, driving straight rights into the high guard of Hawkins, going down low and treating herself to the Aussies six pack, blasting shots off one after the other as the Hawkins guard drops and she fires a RIGHT UPPERCUT under the Hawkins chin which shakes the foundations and DOWN GOES HAWKINS AGAIN! Right on the bell.

Danni: I can’t believe I am saying this but STOP THE FIGHT! Kurkova mauling Hawkins right from the outset with the jab that split her across the nose.

Kylie: Kurkova has clutched victory from the jaws of defeat right there.

Danni: Come on Jen! We cannot lose this fight.

Kylie: Remain impartial sis.

Round 7

Kurkova totally in control. Hawkins being taught a boxing lesson. Kurkova has a new lease of life, her jab like a lightning strike, putting Hawkins in her place, back on the ropes. She is just propping her up with the forearm and then blasting the jab and hook to the chin. Kurkova putting shot after shot on the Aussies face. The straight right smacking her head over the top rope, buckling the Aussie over with a CRUCNHING RIGHT to the torso and then crouching and launching into the RIGHT UPPERCUT which lifts Hawkins off her feet! OH SHE KEEPS HER STANDING with another uppercut to the chin, propping her against the ropes with the forearm again, firing hooks and jabs to the belly. Hawkins knees bending in ways as the Czech girl continues to bash her senseless against the ropes until finally the REF STEPS IN and it’s over! TKO7 Karolina Kurkova!

Danni: What a turnaround from a girl who was down and out. She has done the unthinkable here and absolutely torn Jen apart. Hawkins unconscious on her feet and is now flat on her back at the ropes. Another Downunder girl knocked out cold.

Kylie: It’s a dark night for Downunder boxing as the Lioness Club take an unbeatable 5-3 lead in the series. Elle MacPherson fighting for her own personal goals and for Downunder pride now.

Liz Hurley: YOU AND ME, IN THE RING, RIGHT NOW

Warnie: Honey that is not such a good idea!

Kimberly: Oh he fights your battles now does he? I’ll take both of you on right now!

Danni: What’s this sis? Liz Hurley and Kimberly Davies are making their way to the ring.
