BBU Stable Flyweight Tournament: Semi-Finals

Before: Kara Tointon (Double A Boxing) coming off an upset win over Foxfire Atlantic’s Tiffany Mulheron is now 3-6 (3 Kos) now faces Beever’s Babes entrant Michelle Keegan. Michelle beat Heidi Range (Lioness Club) boosting her record to 8-6 with 8. Oddsmakers prefer Michelle’s solid record and make her the favorite. Kara claims not to care: “Nobody thought I had a chance against Tiffany but I beat her. I can’t wait to cut down that arrogant twit Keegan..” Michelle says: “I was surprised she won, too, Mulheron must have underestimated her. I won’t make that mistake.”

Round 1

Michelle comes out determined to put Kara in her place and she does so with a series of straight right and lefts over Kara’s guard to knock her head back again and again. Kara tries to jab back but Michelle is blocking the counters. Keegan then switches to some meaty hooks into the Double AA fighter’s stomach. Kara looking uncomfortable, but keeps trying to come forward and land on her opponent. Late in the round, Kara finally able to loop in a shot to Michelle’s left eye and Keegan reels away. Kara follows, but Michelle regains her composure and fires more shots into Tointon tummy. Kara forced to pull back. Michelle pursues, throwing lots of punches, but Kara covers up to ride it out defensively to the bell.

Round 2

Kara charges Michelle at the bell and tries to pound her back into her own corner. Michelle flustered, takes some ringing shots to the jaw and midsection, but she moves left to evade Kara’s attempt to trap her. Hard jabbing to Kara’s head makes the Double AA fighter pay for the offensive, but Kara won’t quit trying. Two gradually work their way back out to middle of the ring and fall in shoulder to shoulder for a fierce exchange of punching that has the crowd out of their seats and cheering them on. Kara trying to get at that left eye of Keegan’s which is getting red and swollen, but for every punch she lands on the eye, she takes 3 or 4 to her belly. Slugging continues to the bell, Kara Tointon takes a drawn round against Michelle Keegan and has given her that left eye to worry about. On the other hand, Kara’s took an awful lot of punishment down low and she moves slowly back to her corner.

Round 3

Michelle Keegan has seen enough of Kara Tointon for this fight. Kara summons her reserves to make another rush at Keegan, but she moves too slowly and Michelle has already anticipated the move. Keegan with much fresher legs moves faster and it is Kara who finds herself hurled back into her own corner. Keegan sets her feet and just pounds Kara from waist to the head. Kara trying to jab but it is ineffectual and she can’t seem to adjust her guard fast enough to cover whatever area Keegan is attacking. Double AA girl takes a terrible beating.

“CLINCH! CLINCH!” Kara finally hears her corner shouting and reaches to clinch, but she is so dazed that it is in a slow motion and Michelle simply steps back, striking with that murderous straight right hand to the head and the hook into the belly. Kara desperately lunges at Michelle still trying to wrap her up in a clinch, but she is totally wide open as Michelle rams in shots from underneath and to the head from side to side.. Hard to say which punch does it, but suddenly KARA TOINTON IS DOWN! Kara has stumbled to all fours, then her arms give out causing her to slump forward and her butt is sticking high in the air, until she falls over to her side, scarcely moving.

Referee has to push the fired-up Michelle Keegan back before he can count, but it does Kara little good. Kara stirs, tries to lift her head, but it falls back and she is sleeping as the count reaches 10. Shattering KO3 win for Michelle Keegan.

After: Michelle delighted to win, but she knows her swollen left eye is soon going to be a spectacular black and blue shiner. Irked at the thought that Kara left her mark on her, Michelle waits for Tointon to be revived on her stool. Then she grabs the defeated girl by the arm and forces her on a walk of shame, pausing at each corner, so Kara can be forced to her knees as though submitting to the “superior” Michelle. Kara numbly goes along with this, but when she later regains her senses, she is furious at what Michelle did to her and is said to vow: “I will make her pay for that!”
