UNIFIED WELTERWEIGHT TITLE

Before: Jewel answers the critics by finally inviting Ali no the “Big Dance“--it’s a fight most felt Kilcher would never take. “You’ve got to give Jewel props,” says welter rival Terry Farrell, “she’s had a nice safe title run for the most part, and she had another payday type fight with Jamie Lee Curtis on the table, but she wanted to make a statement instead by defending against Ali. Good for her.” Tall order for Jewel--Landry the most balanced of the big women, easily capable of mimicking Farrell on  the outside, or Jewel herself on the inside--no easy way to take her down. Jewel coming off a devastating non-title beating at the hands of Farrell--champ insists it’s all behind her, but pundits will be watching blonde legs very closely in this one for signs of shimmy. Landry in gold bikini, Jewel in teal bandeau bikini, slick ponytail.

During R1: Ali all pageant early--showing Jewel the jab, staying well outside, lightly stepping back whenever Kilcher gets low and looks like she’s coming forward. Jewel bobbing, weaving, but landing only glancing blows against Landry’s golden ribcage as the taller brunette owns the space between the two fighters this round.

R2: Ali steps up her jabbing campaign--first jab just to get Jewel to commit, second jabs’s the payoff, spanking hard against blonde’s pretty face Landry moving well to her left, keeping Kilcher on the end of her punches. Midway through, Landry drops a sweet right hand on the eye as Kilcher leans back from the jab--punch sends blonde reeling off balance to the ropes. Patient follow up from Landry as she steps Jewel down, jabs her left eye with shattering lefts and leaves Kilcher swooning at the bell

R3: Ali Landry supremely confident--steering Jewel with the jab, keeping the fight at midring, loping to her left whenever she pleases as Kilcher turns, follows. Stick has champ tamed--challenger able to pick and choose when and where to drop right hands, leaning in to pound at chest, belly or chin from outside. Kilcher soaking it up, crossing her arms, but simply unable to negotiate her distance, Jewel back to her corner with a drooping left eye and bloody nose after 3 one-sided rounds of surgery from Landry.

R4: Ali out with her best jab of the night--POUNDING that fist off Jewel’s groggy skull with sickening force--crack, crack, crack. Kilcher weaving, trying to get in close to work, but Landry’s legs own the night--brunette moves left top make the blonde turn, moves back to absorb Jewels desperate power, then gets herself back into position whenever she wants. Final minute, Ali working with a batting series of left hooks, up and down Jewel’s right side and jaw line--Kilcher coming apart at the seams starts to topple forward as Landry hops back, picks her up with more cute swatting lefts. Landry finally walking Jewel into a glittering left uppercut--all buttock and shoulder behind the short, short punch--Ali  steps to the side and blows a mocking kiss as Kilcher falters to her hands and knees. it’s over--Jewel trembling, unable to rise--demonstrative KO4 Ali Landry.

After: Ali bringing Jewel to the front of the classroom, bending her over the desk and beating the bejesus out a dazed and horribly outclassed champion tonight--near perfection for the dazzling brunette in this heartless display of clinic execution, Jewel heartbroken, but offering no excuses, “Ali was the better woman tonight, it’s just that simple. NO, I don’t think Farrell had anything to do with my performance--her punches were powder-puffs compared to what Landry was throwing tonight. To be honest, I shook off Terry’s work pretty easily--I was back in the gym after a couple of days. Right now, I’m hurting, If I lost, I lost to the best Ali Landry’s anyone’s ever seen, and I doubt she’ll be hat good next time.”
