Before: (Buenes Aires). Pierce stunning all Argentina by defeating Gaby in a televised La Conquista game ( for more into on La Conquista see: http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/4629183/La%20Conquista). British tabloids lable Gaby SOBatini--it’s scandalous for a South American to lose at the notorious beahc game. Boxing match sees Gaby carry Argentina on her shoulders against the statuesque blonde. Sabatini older but still in terrific shape, still a better athlete than Mary, but Pierce showed her strength on the sand anc critics wonder if Gaby’s legs will be up to the task of of holding Mary off in the ring. Small workout gloves for both women, navy Nike sports bra and light blue tracker sprinter’s trunks for Pierce, black sports bra and red track trunks for Gaby. Fought outdoors under the hot S.A, sun.

R1: Mary stalking forward, taps Gaby with a sturdy double jab to the face--brunette jumps to the ropes, and looks to bob and weave as Pierce steps up to the plate. Fearsome George Foreman swings to the waist and left side ribs as Pierce loads up straight arm rights and bashes away--Gaby forced to clinch, hooking the thumbs of small gloves in the waistband of Pierce’s trunks at the hips and walking the blonde back to center ring, Gaby controlling the blonde’s trunks, keeping her left thumb snug under Mary’s belly--proceeds to tug and punch--totally legal in Argentina apparently. Pierce hauled off balance, pushed around, takes several cracking blows to her face that leave her woozy, but she eventually grabs at Gaby’s biceps to stop the punishment. Final minute sees the girls wrestling awkwardly to the ropes, both girls very grabby with their nimble gloves, headlocking, holding and hitting at every opportunity. Makes you wonder why they even have a ref.

R2: Gaby showing flashes of youthful leg, giving Mary some left and right misdirection. lifting arrogant punches off her thighs to jam right between Mary’s gloves. Pierce walking her girl down however lands thunderous lefts and rights to the tanned goodness of Gaby’s belly--once again the brunette is hunching forward, looking to tie up or grab trunk. Mary’s not having it--she’s getting brawny on Gaby, reaching up under the brunette’s arms and bodying her heavily to the ropes, palming her back and pounding away with crude right hands to the jaw and belly. Sabatini wearing down, bullied and in the final minute, Pierce with her weight on Gaby, digs in a pair of shuddering right hands to the pit of the stomach, drawing a wail of protest from Sabatini as her long legs shimmy. Bell sounds to save the brunette as Pierce won’t let her off the ropes until ref intervention.

R3: Pierce a confident aggressor now--cutting off the ring, snapping at Gaby’s face with a thudding a double jab--Sabatini bounding and running around thje ring with a worried expression. Sabs with her hands low, dancing right, suddenly drops a snapping counter right hand over a reaching Mary left and PIERCE IS HURT! Mary’s legs buckle as she stands with arms outstretched and Gaby jumps aboard. Small gloves grab at Mary’s biceps, pulling the arms away and allowing Gaby to hold and hit mercilessly to the body--big blonde groaning as she is belted back to the ropes. Sabatini staying on top, clutching Mary’s right arm at the elbow, slamming away to the stomach and chin with cruel right hands and PIERCE GOES DOWN! Mary’s cheeks streaked with tears as she bawls on her haunches and SHE’S NOT GETTING UP! KO3 Gaby Sabatini!

After: Classic punk job from Pierce--folding under the first sign of pressure and punishment from Gaby. Sabatini’s guts propped up by the feverish home rown crowd--she had her back to the wall tonight and responded like a champ. Sabatini takes a sobbing Mary Pierce for a walk of shame to a rousing soccer chant from the thong, guiding Pierce around with the right hand form in the waistband of Mary’s lower back.
