Team Canada continues it's bold introduction into BBU competition with the stable's primary fighter Alaina Huffman accepting the challenge of former lightweight champion Lisa Maffia from the Beever Babes. Fight has been arranged in BBU Arena in Cardiff with Team Canada's Karen Cliche making the trip along with coach Amanda Tapping in support of Huffman (allthough some inside reports indicate that Huffman and Cliche are not the best of friends).

Meanwhile Lisa Maffia returns to action after a heavy KO3 loss to Sayuki Matsumoto at the beginning of November and has promised to produce a much better showing this time around. BBU TV's Denise van Outen has spoken to Maffia before the fight and the Londoner Maffia has stated the following:

"I've definitely underestimated the Asian girl. These newcomers are not neccessarily random jobbers. Huffman has also had only a couple of fights under her belt, but she's been impressive. A win over such highly-touted rival will boost my position among the division and I hope Rochelle Wiseman is watching this one carefully as I plan to snatch that title wig of hers pretty soon!"

Denise van Outen was hoping to get a word with Huffman as well, but she was shoved away by Tapping and Cliche. "We will issue a press release only after the fight!, don't distract us now" coach Tapping was firm in her corner and the glare Huffman gave van Outen was more then convincing that there will be no interview before the opening bell. Fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Both women seem to acknowledge each other's potential and there's a lot of fake punches at the start. Neither is risking a lot and they are happy just to keep the distance. Halfway through the round Huffman jumps forward and throws the first solid combination of this bout, but Maffia covers that cleanly with her glove and responds with a big hook that forces the blonde to weave away and step back. Maffia threatens to jump for the follow up and has Huffman circling around the ropes, but there was no real intention behind that one and more half-hearted jabs come next with Maffia still focused on the task ahead. Huffman continues to cricle around the ropes, but the Londoner doesn't allow herself to get teased into any banzai moves.

Round 2:
Maffia steps in early and catches her opponent by surprise landing a big jab to the mouth. Alains jumps back, but Lisa follows up and manages to land a couple of more jabs to the midsection which back the Canadian against the ropes. Lisa unleashes more low jabs, but Huffman covers up and weathers the storm for a moment. Lisa continues to land single punches from each side, but enables the blonde to finally clinch her after an unsuccessful tirade. Ref separates the girls and Maffia unloads another big jab, but this time Alaina was prepared and blocked it off before responding with a solid hook herself. Lisa quick on her feet, easily moved away from that one but in the meantime so did Huffman and both girls continue to circle around each other with Huffman looking somewhat bleak in the fight tactics department. Lisa tries to step in again but Huffman is all over the ring, trying to outsmart her with some fancy footwork. This only annoys the Londoner who begins making gestures at her rival. Huffman stone cold, ignores the teasing and bides her time until the bell.

Round 3:
Huffman's corner still unmoved despite their girl not showing a lot of aggression early on. Maffia much more confident, jumps from her stool and throws a jabbing sequence to the guts before trying an uppercut to the jaw. Blonde's guard is rock solid though and Alaina responds with a nasty stiff jab that shakes the Londoner's defence instead. Huffman moves in, thrown nasty jabs from both sides and nails Maffia in the ribs proper. Lisa holds firm and throws a big hook to the head, but Alaina ducks away from trouble and clinches in middle of the ring as both women chest-crash into each other. A brief struggle for supremacy occurs, before Lisa finally shoves her opponent away and immediately tries to nail her with a flying hook. Alaina weaves away again and as Maffia comes forward, she nearly walks into a hugh hook that only skims off her ear as she pushes the blonde against the ropes. More hostile struggle occurs with both girls trying some low jabs to the ribs before referee spearates them again. The bell sounds soon afterwards and prevents further action in the third.

Round 4:
Maffia all over Huffman early on, peppering her ribs from both flanks, but the self proclaimed Alpha Blonde doesn't back away anymore and engages in a ruthless punchfest instead. She jabs the Londoner's boobs with a couple of jabs before rocking her with a big hook to the nose. Lisa jumped away just in time but Alaina steps on her again and throws another combination to the jugs before launching a jabbing sequence to the stomach. Maffia backs against the ropes and covers up as the Canadian has thrown her out of the comfort zone for the first time tonight. However Alaina can't break Maffia's guard and land one big punch and sees most of the efforts crash off the Londoner's arms and gloves. Huffman gets annoyed and reluctantly allows Maffia to clinch her and the ref separates them. Back to action, Huffman throws a couple of fake jabs, but seems to have accepted the fact she let her first big chance drift away into obscurity. Lisa circles around the ring and looks happy to survive a brief moment of Huffman's dominance as Alaina doesn't really threaten her again in this round anymore.

Round 5:
Heated exchange of words between coach Tapping and the Alpha Blonde during the interval. Back in the crowd, Karen Cliche sports a big smile on her face. Denise van Outen tries to make her way through to the brunette Canadian as she's intrigued of Cliche's behaviour. We hope to catch on her later, but in the meantime the fighters are back in the ring and Maffia throws a solid combo to the midsection only to see it covered well by the blonde. In response, Alaina nails her in the chest before landing a good hook to the side of the head. Maffia caught by surprise, tries to jump back but loses her footing and allows Huffman to inflict further damage by pounding her ribs without any response. Things suddenly turn awry for the Londoner who gets pushes against the corner post and Alaina just reigns in with massive hooks to the midsection and odd ones to the head. Lisa covers up, tries to duck away, but Alaina just doesn't let her off the hook! Big left swing breaks Lisa's guard open and she pours in with a right and nails her foe in the ear proper! Maffia's knees buckle and she's destined to hit the deck, but her comes the ref and drags the stunned Huffman away. He saw the last punch as a lacing cheap shot and gives the utterly shocked blonde an official warning. Coach Tapping is furious in her corner and Karen Cliche bursts out laughing just as Denise van Outen was seated next to her. Hogwash! Huffman argues with the ref, but he's having none of it! Lisa watches this tirade from her corner and happily accepts the chance to get her breath back. Fight finally resumes and Alaina wants to finish the job off, but Maffia dances along the ropes and keeps the distance. Huffman in red mist mode, but just can't catch her rival before the bell anymore.

Round 6:
Huffman off her stool quickly, but suddenly here comes Maffia with a charge that enables her to land a couple of jabs to the blonde's jugs and follow up with a good hook to the mouth. Some start from the fighter who was almost on the floor just moments ago! Alaina seems equally surprised and there's more bad news for her, that last punch has split her lip! You don't damage the Alpha Blonde without getting punished for it! Ignoring the bitter taste in her mouth, Huffman responds with an angry charge herself, jabbing with ferocious intensity. Maffia blocks most of those shots off and jumps away into safety as she senses the oncoming danger. Huffman really angry now, throws hooks from both sides and forces Lisa to weave around without a second of breather. Finally she fakes a left hook and pours in with the right that skims off Maffia's gloves and grazes the top oif her head. Maffia briefly rooted to the spot, allows Alaina to step in quickly and land a couple of big jabs to the chest. Lisa moans in pain and covers up, but Huffman moves on her again and backs against the ropes. Angry charge from the blonde, she tries to dismantle Maffia's guard, but just can't break through it! Alaina moves around her rival and tries to nail her in the midsection, but the Londoner soaks up all the pressure and finally clinches when Huffman runs out of steam and drops the tempo for a moment. First signs of fatigue creep into this bout and both girls are happy to shove each other around before the bell. Blonde's eyes still throwing venom at her rival, but Maffia holds her own regardless!

In the meantime Denise van Outen has finally caught up with Karen Cliche during the interval before the seventh:

Denise: "Got a minute Ms Cliche?"
Karen: "Just call me Karen, honey"
Denise: "OK, Karen, I must say I was wondering what's your take on Alaina's performance tonight. You seemed pretty joyful when Lisa was knocking her around earlier?
Karen: "Well, it's only a matter of time when someome sends Alaina packing..."
Denise: "That doesn't sound too supportive of you, Karen."
Karen: "I'm not going to defy the logic, numbers speak for themselves. Maffia has a lot more experience under her belt and experience counts a lot here. Alaina has a solid punch, but so does Lisa, so it's not entirely impossible to see Alaina on the floor tonight."
Denise: "Very interesting deduction from you there. Some BBU insiders told me Maffia is a washed-up entity after her loss to Matsumoto."
Karen: "Neah, she'll come back strong eventually. If she doesn't romp over Alaina tonight I expect either Wiseman or Matsumoto doing so later."
Denise: "You still haven't gotten over losing to her a month ago?"
Karen: "Have I? I'm into welter now, I'm leaving Alaina alone in the lightweight for the time being. Amanda forces the issue on her and as long as she keeps winning, I won't cause too much trouble. Or I think I won't. But enough about me, what about you? Still active or do they pay you more for doing the talking?"
Denise: "I make my own life in BBU and no one challenges me lately apart from one Irish jobber whom I crushed easily. Perhaps some of you Canadians give me a shot.. I mean there's not only Alaina among your lightweights."
Karen: "Get in touch with Amanda and you'll find some challenges alright... OK, here they come again... I almost see that blonde bimbo going down now! Ooops.. you didn't hear me saying that, honey!"
Denise: "I didn't hear anything, anything at all..."

Round 7:
Alaina's lip has been patched up for now, but Lisa tries to open it up again "You're gonna bleed again, slut!" Lisa has seen the proverbial blood and works around the blonde's head, but Alaina weaves away from the Londoner's punches well. She counters with a low jab to the ribs before landing a big uppercut to the nose herself. Lisa shakes it off though and steps forward, Alaina quick on her feet, avoids a big hook and counters to the midsection before another big hook catches Maffia in the jugs. She jumps away for good now and circles around the ropes as the blonde tries to nail her down with jabbing sequence to the chest and stomach. Lisa pauses for a moment and weaves around with her upperbody as Alaina tries to guess her moves.. left, left, right... no good!!! Lisa drops her gloves and teases the blonde before laughing off her efforts. Huffman finally breaks loose with anger, steps in and throws a stiff jab to the jaw, Lisa blocks it off and responds with a nasty jab to the ribs making the blonde cringe in pain. She follows it up with a couple of jabs aimed at the face but Huffman just manages to move away from that one before backing herself against the ropes. Lisa traps her there and unloads a couple of big hooks to the stomach and Alaina tries to clinch. Maffia leans on her and laces her in the ear with a borderline punch. Ref turns away from that one, but he also ignores Alaina's excessive clinching attempts as she literally tries to drag the Londoner on the floor. Maffia tries to push her away, but she can't and her efforts are eventually stopped by the bell.

Round 8:
Maffia looks in slightly better shape during the break, but Huffman is far from being finished yet. Off we go into the eight and immediately Lisa throws a big hook to the head which goes wayward and Alaina jumps up to her and lands a solid jab to the stomach. Maffia moans in pain and tries to counter her to the ribs, but only hits Huffman's arm and suddenly gets rocked with a big hook to the side of the head. She turns away from the follow-up. but the Canadian pours in another low jab to the guts. Whoa! Lisa looks shaken and allthough she tries to clinch, Alaina sends in another jab to the boobs which almost knocks the Londoner over! She struggles to breath as Huffman pushes her to the corner post and lands several big shots to the body. Lisa covers up and allthough the intensity of the blonde's onslaught, drops pretty quickly, she's unable to catch a break and has severe trouble breathing. Alaina's fitness level is not at it's best anymore, but she notices her rival struggling and continues to pound her in the corner. Single jabs from Huffman are good enough to further pull the plug on the aching Londoner and she pins her against the corner post where she lands few more unanswered shots to the stomach before Lisa can clinch her in a desperate attempt. Maffia's eyes are closed now as she wraps her arms around the blonde's neck, but Huffman nails her one more time in the ribs, before she can cover them up with her elbows. Ref separates them after a moment, but Lisa is breathing very heavily now and Alaina jumps up to her. Maffia mighty slow on her feet, gets rocked with a couple of hooks to the ribs and then another one to the mouth. Alaina throws more punches, but Lisa jumps away one final time and survives until the bell as the Canadian was just about to move in on her again.

Round 9:
Both women going forward in the closing stages, but Alaina much quicker on her feet, continues to jab with more intensity and Lisa suddenly drops on the inferior side. Huffman's face is swollen and that lip doesn't look all that great either, but she steps in on the Londoner and nails her in the boobs for the umpteenth time already. Lisa's guard is all over the place, overprotective to the head and vulnerable down low. Alaina throws in another jab between teh elbows and more painful groans come out of the Londoner's mouth. She tries to jump away to the ropes, but gets caught in the nose by another flying hook from Huffman and almost stumbles over. Alaina moves on her as coach Tapping in cheering wildly in the corner. Maffia struggles with breathing and covers up just as Alaina nails her with more jabs and hooks to the body. Several unanswered blows follow as the Alpha Blonde digs to her last resorts of energy. Lisa bends down as she soaks up the punishment and tries to clinch but the Canadian just beats her arms away with her gloves and suddenly enjoys a target practice at the Londoner's expense. Maffia can't stay upright for much longer, can she? And there it comes, a vicious right hook to the nose and down goes Maffia seconds before the bell!!! She lands on her knees and bends down in agony as the ref starts the count!!! She scrambled back at her feet at seven, but there's blood coming out of her nose! Alaina cannot keep a smile off her face and there's a delay as the ref orders Lisa's nose to be patched up! Few seconds left on the clock and Maffia just backs against the corner waiting for more punishment, but Alains just teases her with some fake punches.

Round 10:
Alaina slowly circles around her wounded rival and Lisa really looks dead on her legs now. She'd be happy to go the distance and hope for the judges' verdict going her way and it's not entirely impossible for her to get the decision in the end. Huffman's corner is also aware of that and they leave nothing to chance urging the Alpha Blonde to confirm her Alpha status. Huffman slow on her feet too, aching and struggling in her own regard, but Maffia not responding to the challenge, looking to clinch herself through this round. Alains throws some fake punches and makes Lisa duck away a couple of time, but there's that jab to the ribs landing again and Huffman follows up with a stiff one to the jugs. Lisa's chest has been successfully targeted one too many times tonight and as she tries to move away, Alaina nails her in the nose again. The previous wound has been opened up again and Lisa seems to lose her focus alltogether now as Alains rocks her in the guts. Maffia bends down and tries to clinch, but she's awfully slow, invitingly slow for the Alpha Blonde who pounces on the opportunity and lands a big hook to the side of the head. Lisa's knees give way alltogether and before she hits the canvas, Alaina laces her in the mouth with one final punch of the night. With one minute and twenty seconds left on the clock, Lisa hits the deck face-first and it looks like she's had enough! Ref starts the count, but it makes no difference. Lisa lies on the floor with her eyes closed, blood flowing from the busted up nose and she has nothing left in her whole body to give anymore. IT IS OVER!! KO R10 Alaina Huffman in a last woman standing fashion!!!

Post-fight:
Alaina Huffman too exhausted to celebrate, too exhausted to abuse her fallen rival anymore, she walks slowly to her stool and simply slides down on it as coach Amanda Tapping leads the joyride herself instead. In the stands Karen Cliche shakes her head but seems pretty amused by the outcome nonetherless. Denise van Outen reports she overheard Cliche talking to herself "won't happen again", but what that exactly means, remains a mystery for now as she disappeared into the locker room before our reporter could get to her again.

Lisa Maffia completely blown out of any willpower has to be helped onto her stool and she looks a mess. Face all busted up and blood stains everywhere. She nearly grinded out the verdict, but came up just short. Despite losing, she may not have fallen much down the lightweight pecking order but a potential rematch with Rochelle Wiseman doesn't sound like a top priority for BBU anymore, at least for the time being. Washed-up entity? Not a chance either!

Final result: Alaina Huffman def. Lisa Maffia KO10.
