Taking a microphone Malika says in French: "I am so happy to bring fans of French celebrity boxing a True Champion one worthy of their loyalty and support at last." (She smiles over at the woozy Elodie Frege slumped on her stool) "Mlle Elodie fought as best she could, but, in the end, my victory was inevitable for I possessed the greater will to victory!"
(The fans cheer. Elodie apparently grasps some of it and gives the new champion a scowl of defiance, which probably fortunately for her, Malika is too busy basking in the glory of the receiving the Unified French lightweight belt, to notice).
Then evidently aware of her new international fan base Malika adds (in English): "This is a wonderful night for me. I must thank Kate Winslet, Marvin Fox and Danielle Harris for bringing me to Foxfire Atlantic Boxing. I promise to bring them more championship victories and make Foxfire Atlantique the Home of the Champion."
Malika then strolls along the ring ropes waving to the crowd looking even prouder than the evening she became Miss France. She pauses in front of Elodie Frege, who looks up at her with sad eyes as she sees some else wearing her cherished belts. Having made her point, Malika moves on to complete her Circuit of Victory and then departs the ring with queenly grace.
An amazing night for La Grande Malika and the fledgling Foxfire Atlantic organization. But what challenges lie ahead for the young fighter?
She still has dangerous opponents ahead (Alaina Huffman, the undefeated prinary lightweight of Team Canada, for one). Already the fans are waiting see what happens next... |
