Boxing on the Beach

"One of the reasons I came to the beach," Brittany tells BLONDE! magazine, "is that Demi Moore is here, and I felt I needed to sort her out with a decisive beating." This in reference to a stirring battle last year in which Moore outworked the young blonde for a close decision - it's festered in Daniel's psyche ever since. Both women looking to reinvigorate fighting careers that have hit roadblocks. For Daniel, the endless summer that was supposed to be the beach circuit hit a nasty patch in the youthful form of hard-punching Taylor Cole - suddenly Brittany's got to earn the accolades everyone had assumed would be hers on the sand. For Moore, devastating early round defeats have critics and friends alike calling for her retirement, but the competitive fire still burns in that proud brunette heart. "I see a girl like Brittany," says Demi, "and I just want to put her down. I can't help it. The day I don't feel the urge to subjugate a Brittany Daniel is the day I'll hang 'em up." During R1: Brittany in a nice, compact Miguel Cotto stance - gets respect early with a biting left/right on Demi's sheet-iron abs - Moore fades to the ropes, sets up supple to counter. Moore with right at her cheek, left at her stomach, left shoulder pointed at Brittany to slip and roll - blonde stepping strong and raking hooks across the target. DEMI GOES OUT! Shout of shock from the crowd as a hook squeaks inside the protective right, catching chin and putting Demi limp, but upright - she's loose, hands dropping and Brittany catches her a chopping right, pounding hook chin and face to slump brunette in a state of defenceless vulnerability. Unabashed glee as Daniel ROMPS to jug - getting up in there with both hands shrug-chugging away - Demi out, face blank, head lolling as her chest soaks up ruinous punishment - it's senseless, one-sided marauding, but it goes on and on until Moore finally topples to her left shoulder, cheek wet against the canvas. After: Daniel reminding all of what a dynamic puncher she can be, gets on Demi and rubs her out with a spellbinding slugging peformance. Demi brought around in stages and Daniel is immediately on her - shoving her up into the corner, climbing the ropes to loom over the devastated brunette. Moore in a state of blubbery shock as Daniel wraps her left fist in those glorious black locks, gesturing skyward with the right. Blonde standing there for quite a while - waving to the crowd, smoothing her hair behind her ears with both hands as she smiles down - just enjoying the moment as Moore groans beneath. Demi simply not taking punches well, going out with queasy ease at the first jarring blow - friends and physicians redouble their efforts to get the brunette legend to quit in the days following this disasterous set back.
