BEFORE: "Granted, I've not put my best foot forward in America," Rachel acknowledges in pre-fight, "but I'm still very steady, and I feel I'm a more mature, more rounded and grounded fighter than ever before. Jessica Simpson is well within my capacity to beat, and beat her I shall. Savagely, if necessary!" Simpsy spoiling for a fight, anxious to keep pace with glory-hogging stable-mates these days. "Rachel Stevens is what we like to call in Texas: 'cannon fodder'," Simpson grins, "and baby, I'm bringin' the cannons! Easy fight boys: hard hits will discourage Rachel, and I'll take her out from there. Great chance to see me in a bikini though - just don't expect to get too long of a look!" Jessica in pink dukes bikini; blonde hair in loose curls; small black gloves. Rachel in black bra style bikini with silver hummingbird insignia on left hip; small black gloves; frosted hair in loose french twist. ASIDE: Simpsy making weight on her third attempt - chubby little blonde still a mouthwatering sight, but softer than her Dukes days. Jessi tells BLONDE! During R1: Blockbuster swinging-and-missing from Simpson sweeps Rachel to apron: Stevens digging in ropeside, staying compact. Walloping blonde right claps to Stevens' left ear, shunting her right side into ropes and RACHEL'S DOWN! Simpsy heaving bricks early, drops Rache to all fours inside a minute. Stevens up for a clear-eyed 8: she elects to stay at apron, dukes at cheeks as Simpsy wades on in. Jessica pounding away lusty - big, robust left/rights batting against Rachel's flanks: Stevens in the pocket, blocking on her shoulders, then fitting Jess for quick little hooks and nipping crosses in receipt. Third minute - fun pitch-and-catch sees both girls getting tagged...Rache dips down in her stance; straightens up into a short left hook, snapping Jessica's chin aside and BUCKLING JESSICA'S KNEES! Blonde girl hurt, swooning out of orbit to blunder face-first into ropes just off Rachel's left shoulder...Rache swings around, plowing right hand into Jessi's lower back, cutting power to Simpson's left leg and dropping her to one knee! Jess panting, hands in ropes as she stares out into crowd...ref ushers Rachel away with a warning as bell sounds to end a torrid first.

R2: Rachel keeping dukes at cheeks, ducking inside a wild Simpson right...girls get cheek-by-jowl as Stevens crowds inside. Rachel bumping compact right/lefts to Jessi's paunch, then nipping short right uppercuts to jug...Simpsy chopping short-left to chin in tight; mating it with a short-right, buffetting Rachel in the pocket. Hard-scrabble back and forth as neither lass wants out of the kitchen - digging, bruising work both ways. Late brace of hooks finally forces Simpson into whimpering retreat...it's Rachel coming forward all pouty-strong; Simpsy wincing at bell.

R3: Rachel bending at the waist, weaving looping lefts and rights from angry American: British girl keeping her cool, slipping shots, easing Jess out of position, then touching her short hooks, blunt right hands. Snappy stuff from Rachel - she's getting off from close range, biting at tummy, tits, or chin - mostly with hooks - keeping the right hand tight to her cheek as she delivers tidy. Jess taking a good shot - often getting clipped on the chin or smote hard to body...buxom blonde girl refusing to back off, even as Rachel's fists find the mark.

R4: Bruising bump-and-slug sees Jessica crowd Rachel to ropes: bitter digging on the inside as girls go mouth-on-shoulder. Jessica on top, using her shoulders to bump and grind, working the tummy right/left, then looping up top with hopes of chin. Rachel keeping elbows in...where Jessica loads up and heaves her shots, Rachel's much tighter in form, snapping short, chopping/cuffing clouts to chin, tits or tummy, always bringing the mitts back to cheeks as she pushes forward with her head. Down the stretch, nice insistent set of stubby right uppercuts from Rachel worries at Jessica's chin, putting blonde girl wobbly-butt at bell.

R5: Jessica bouncing in all frisky, muscling Rachel to ropes and working her over lusty. Stevens elbows in/hands at cheeks/crouching down...she's wincing as blonde girl's landing loud to either flank - Jessi trying to beat apart Rachel's sound defensive front through main-force. Simpsy working up quite the sweat - heaving blockbusters into British lats and side-ribs; pushing covered-up Stevens into ropes to reset. Rachel not answering much - electing to absorb, let Jessi spend up some money in the 5th.

R6: Jessica across the ring all jugs a-jumpin' again: she's mouthbreathing, obviously feeling the effects of her own labours, but game to bring the fight to Britain. Stevens sturdy on the apron - right foot back, just underneath bottom rope; left foot forward strong; left shoulder pointed Jessi's way; hands up/elbows in. Blonde girl attacks the presented shoulder - heaving right hands over the top, using the left hand as a push-prod. Rachel bobbing on the spot - she's slipping Jessi's rowdy rights - answering back jagged little right uppercuts out of the bob, nipping tits and chin. As Jessica starts to get touched up, she slows, but maintains her frontal assault...Rache bumping with her left shoulder; nipping the short right uppercut; mixing in swatting hooks as she's leaning torso-right in the pocket. All adds up to a bit of a beating for Jessica...blonde girl proving sturdy-strong and stubborn as hell, but she's not landing clean while Rachel's picking Jessica apart in return.

R7: Same again - Rachel with her back to ropes at apron, but bracing weight on front (left) leg and facing Jess with the left shoulder...blonde girl comes in square against Rachel's angled front - Simpsy just trying to be the big girl and slug Rachel out. Stevens calm, compact in the pocket, bobbing on the spot while keeping left shoulder in Jessi's tits...Rachel really managing Simpsy well from ropeside position. Stevens short, crisp clouts clip at Jessica's chin, snatch at her paunch, chop at her jugs...pesky little touches add up, putting Jess wobbly butt from the halfway point on. Down the stretch, Stevens straightens up into a short hook to jaw, toggling Jessi's chin: blonde girl's legs give a shimmy, and she's suddenly in trouble. Jess: blonde curls in her eyes, hands at her waist...Rache eases Jessi backwards with left shoulder in chest; swat-hooks Jessica's tummy, then HOOKS the chin a cracking shot as Simpsy's backing up. Jess stumbling backward over her heels and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Delayed effect sees Simpsy blunder backwards a few steps before sitting down/sprawling onto her back. Jessica hurt, sitting up with legs outstretched, her weight on her right hand...snarling Rachel steps-to, straddling Jessi's legs, stooping and HOOKING JESSICA'S FACE! Clipping little shots - poor Simpson stunned, taking as she sits there - ref pulls Rachel away after a couple of freebies have Jess sleepy on her buns. Count delayed as fuming Rachel's read the riot act: Jessica able to escape certain stoppage when she beats the long count.

R8: Jessica's will's finally broken: it's Rachel able to come forward now, walking a gunshy blonde girl down, all around the ring. Simpsy looking disheveled - curls in her eyes/long hair draping both breasts...she's walking to her right, throwing the left out in a don't-hurt-me gesture. A minute of stalking finally sees Rachel jab Jessica to ropes: systematic pummeling ensues as Rachel reduces her blonde like an engineer. Jessica: pouting; wrists crossed at breasts; back to ropes. Rachel: weight forward, but not crowding - she's at medium range - deploying either hand in short, palm-down, straight attacks to Jessica's upperchest/pecs, keeping the breasts under constant threat. Simpson whining, sliding to her right along ropes...Rache stepping-with, keeping mitts on meat. Finally, after the tenderizing approach - Rache hops into a short left hook to face, punching Jessica's head back/knocking her into ropes. Extra hook up top clouts Jessi's open mouth; straight right angles down onto Jessica's paunch; super-short hook clips across Jessica's chin, buckling her knees...Jess swoons into ropes, blinking in confusion. Jamming right slams to a halt on Jessica's jaw, completing the demolition on Simpson's knees...blonde girl drops straight down, propped on right hip/right hand as ref moves in. Jessica beats the count blubbering, but she's too hurt: ref waves it off, hugs Jessi to ropes as ass-kicked little blonde whines sleepy protests into his shirt. TKO8 Rachel Stevens.

AFter: Stevens glowing pink around her ribs - testimony to Jessica's heavy hands early on, but steady British discipline proves decisive on the night. "I came in the fitter lass," Rachel says in postfight, neatly pouring salt into Jessica's wounds without seeming to mean to, "Jess was soft - her tummy wasn't serious about providing resistance, and I was able to wick away her power as a result. She's shabby, and I'm trim! Yes, she was dangerous early - she's hard to read at times and hits with full commitment, but I wasn't about to lose this fight. I know I'm in the prime of my career now, and all I have to do is prove it on girls like Jessica!"
