TESS VALMORE

We have to admit that we had our worst week ever in predicting this card. We went 12-10, Not good.

ROBBIE/ PARRILA Two Newbies face each other. The winner would probably get another fight. The loser would get her picture on Archer’s history site and the record of her only fight. After Robbie got off to a good start taking the first two rounds, Parrila took the next three via fouls in all three rounds. She got her just due, however, when Robbie caught her with a right to the ear, That setup a Robbie blitz that ended with Parrila being counted out

CUCUO/ VANDERVOORT. This was an entertaining bout even if it was one sided. Vandervoort didn’t get on the cards until the seventh round. She had a great eighth when she floored Cucuo and came close to finishing her. Close was not good enough and Cucuo recovered to take a wide decision

CARTER/ SCARLIOTTI The upset of the night. The fight developed as we expected for the first four rounds as Carter built up a big lead. Then Scarliotti came on strong in the fifth and sixth. She dropped Carter in the sixth with a right to the eye. Carter got up but a series of rights put her down for the count. A huge win for Scarliotti in her first fight

DOBREV/ CYRUS An extra round fight. Dobrev controlled the first half of the fight and Cyrus the second half. Cyrus scored the only knockdown, but after ten the fight was called a draw. Dobrev then took the eleventh and twelfth rounds to get the decision

GLAU/ BENZ Benz continues to feast on younger fighters. The fight was even through six. Benz the took a good lead by winning rounds seven and eight. Glau came back in the ninth but Benz salted away the fight in the tenth.

CHABERT/ HUDGENS This was a good fight, but I was surprised when the fight was called a draw. I had it scored five rounds apiece but Chabert had two knockdown so I had her winning by a decision She did win by a decision, but it took fourteen rounds to do so, as Chabert took rounds thirteen and fourteen

NOLIN/ FREEMAN. Am I biased? Well I guess so since I always enjoy seeing Nolin lose and I really enjoyed this fight. I must say Freeman really impressed me. She really poured it on Nolin. Didn’t give her a chance to foul, It wasn’t a single punch that ended Nolin's night in the third, but a barrage. Lightweights better take notice. Note Freeman’s recent losses were to welterweights including Righetti.

COOK/ MORRISON Cook in her first fight since dropping from lightweight to bantam. It certainly wasn’t easy. Morrison built up a comfortable lead in the first four rounds. The next four were inconclusive. I thought if Morrison could stay away from Cook for the last two rounds, she would win. She couldn’t keep Cook away, and Cook’s punching power proved decisive, as she beat Morrison helpless and the fight was stopped

GREENE/ DUSKU Dushku is one of those fighters that I never bet against. For the majority of the fight she was making me look like a genius. Going into the tenth Eliza had the fight in her hip pocket. A wide decision. Then a wheels came off as Greene pounced. A right to the chin put Dusku in a bad way. A flurry of blows dropped the Sheriff who managed to get up, but although helpless, managed to finish the fight and get the decision. Should the fight been stopped? A good question

SCERBO/ LONGORIA I have been accused by Mr Hawkeye who I respect, of pushing Scerbo. He’s right. I am guilty but I think he is concerned that Scerbo is the biggest threat to HISC dominance. This fight was a case of point. Longoria had no chance. Scerbo punched her around in the first and beat her helpless in the second, when the fight was stopped.

STEVENS/ J. SIMPSON This wasn’t much of a fight. Stevens dominated the bout. Simpson was saved from a knockout in the seventh by Steven’s illegal tactics which resulted in a long count. The reprieve was short as Stevens punched Simpson into a TKO daze in the eighth to win the fight

WILLIAMS/ STONE Michelle fresh from her Golden Globes win notches an FCBA win. It was a fine first round as Williams dropped Stone, who then came back to have Williams hurt at the end of the round. Stone had Michelle hurt again in the third
In the fourth Stone got off to a good start only to have Williams turn the tables with a couple of fouls that stacked Stone up against the ropes. Williams then beat Stone helpless and the fight was stopped

TORV/ DAWSON. While I thought Dawson was impressive in the early rounds, the fight was fairly one sided in Torv’s favor. She had Dawson hurt repeatedly, The ninth was a sensational round Torv was decked. She got up and put Dawson on the floor. At the beginning of the tenth Torv had recovered while Dawson was shaky. Anna took the advantage and finished Dawson with a straight right. Torv by a KO10

SWAN/ ROWLAND An entertaining bout while it lasted. Swan got off to a big start hammering Rowland in the first. Rowland came back to return the favor in the second. She floored Swan in the third, The fourth round was sensational. Rowland floored Swan, Swan floored Rowland, then a four punch flurry put Rowland out of it and the referee stopped the fight for a Swan TKO4

HEWITT/ SEYFRIED. Another one sided fight. Hewitt took three of the first five rounds and then the last four to gain a very wide decision, Hewitt decked Seyfried in the third and in the tenth and came close to stopping Amanda in the last round.

LEYODEN/ SEYDOUX. The second upset of the night. Leyoden was the favorite. The fight lasted six rounds and Leyoden won every round in which Seydoux didn’t foul. The foul in the sixth left Leyoden open to a Seydoux assault that left Virginie unable to defend herself and the fight was stopped.

McCARTHY/ CHUNG. I think tonight Jenny showed she belongs in the broadcast booth rather than in the ring. Chung was making her look like an amateur through five. In the sixth Jenny managed to hook to the chin that undid Chung. Jenny went on to pour on punch after punch until Chung went down for the count. Yes Jenny won, but remember Chung had only won one out of four and lost her last three by KO’s

RIGHETTI/ LOKEN You watched this fight and you knew it was only a matter of time. Amanda just looking for the opportunity to turn Loken’s switch off. Loken might have startled some by taking the second and third rounds, but in the fourth Righetti found what she was looking for. A couple body blows and then to that glass chin and the fight was over. Righetti is awesome.

KELLY/ WILDE Another one of those strange, one sided fights. Wilde had a very wide lead taking taking seven of the first eight rounds and putting Kelly on the canvas twice. Kelly staged a comeback in the ninth, and in the tenth nearly pulled the fight out with a KO win. She had Wilde totally out of it and helpless, but the bell saved Wilde who got the decision

GARNER/ PATTON The flavor of the month goes against a aging Hall of Famer and gets a lesson. Jennifer set the stage with a first round knockdown. According to our card, while the rounds were hard fought and some close, Jennifer took every round. By the ninth Patton was groggy and slow. Garner brought the show home with a rousing blistering assault which ended only when the referee stopped the fight

STRAHOVSKI/ THERON Miss Ginny wished for Righetti and got her. She wished for Strahovski and got her. Theron is having nightmares about who Miss Ginny wants next. This fight was hard to watch. After the fourth when Charlize went down, she was only cannon fodder for Strahovski. Theron was lucky to finish the fourth, sixth and seventh. She didn’t finish the eighth as Strahovski savagely beat her into a helpless stupor. We said Theron would lose four in a row. This is number two. if we read Miss Ginny correctly, the next up should be Taylor Cole and loss number three for the once great blonde Lookout should’t be too jubilant. This was not the great Theron that Strahovski beat, but a shadow of that fighter

ALBA/ BREWSTER. This could be called an upset, but was it really. Alba took the first round but Brewster came on in the second and third. In the fourth Brewster went head hunting with great success. flooring Alba. Alba would get up only to be bludgeoned into oblivion. This was Alba’s sixth straight loss. She might either consider another line of alternate work (to her entertainment career) or schedule some easy marks to get back on track

CUTHBERT/ MUNN I thought that Munn might win this fight as Cuthbert was due for a let down. It didn’t happen. As I watched the fight, I thought it was a great one, but when you set back and analyze it, it was one sided. I think Munn only took two rounds. She did put Cuthbert on the canvas once, and went down once herself. In the end Cuthbert retained her title by a decision

REGAN/ LANDRY Let’s face it. The welter division is a two fighter division. The R & R division. The Regan and Righetti division. Put Landry on the fringe and that’s the division. Oh you can drag up Romjin and some of those seldom seen old timers but they are no threat. This fight showed the power that Bridget has. Landry was looking good through four. Late in the fifth, Regan started landing body shots. In the Sixth, Regan continued to work Landry’s body to great effect. She continued early in the seventh before going for Ali’s chin to put the finishing touches on her opponent. Regan retains her title by a KO7. I thought that Landry might win this fight, but I am happy for Bridget.
