BEFORE:

"Madeleine's in great shape," says Jewel. "She can still fight. I've heard the people saying she's too old and should retire. She's the same age as Sharon Stone. So, people might underestimating her. But, I'm not one of them."

"Age is relative,"says Stowe, smiling beautifully. "Do I LOOK over the hill? Well, I don't FEEL over the hill, either. And, tonight, I'm going to PROVE that I'm not."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and...well, apparently Madeleine is going to play along with the narrative, because that's 'Stacy's Mom' by 'Fountains Of Wayne' and here comes Ms. Stowe..."

McCarthy: "I agree with Madeleine. Age is relative. If you still feel good and look good and are still in shape, there's no reason you can't still be a good fighter no matter WHAT your age..."

Tess: "Says the woman who turns 40 this year..."

McCarthy: "Don't start with me, Walmart..."

O'Dell: "Madeleine into the ring, helped off with the robe...and that red bikini shows she's still got the body of a fighter..."

McCarthy: "Gotta hand it to her, she looks great..."

O'Dell: "And that's 'Intuition' and here comes 'The Mama Bear'..."

McCarthy: "Jewel isn't over the hill. She's as good as she ever was. Read: 'Not Very.'"

O'Dell: "Into the ring climbs the blonde, helped off with the robe by Neve and Britney, and Jewel also looking great in that purple number..."

McCarthy: "She wouldn't make Playmate if there were 40 months in a year..."

Tess: "Instapoll, fans. Vote now. How many of you think Mac knows how many months there actually ARE in a year?"

McCarthy: "I know how many teeth are going to be in your mouth in a second. NONE..."

O'Dell: "Ladies, please. Can we get a pick, Mac?"

McCarthy: "I'm going with the cougar. I think Stowe can do the same thing to Jewel that Stone did..."

Tess: "The fans have been making their picks as well, and they don't agree with Mac. They're making Jewel a strong favorite."

O'Dell: "Well, we'll see. There's the bell...and Stowe let's the hands go quickly, lands a couple of nice shots there, stopping Jewel in her tracks. Madeleine aggressive early, sticking that jab, keeping the shorter woman at bay a bit with it."

McCarthy: "Stowe has some reach here, and it's clear she's game planned to use it."

O'Dell: "And Jewel's game planned for it, too. Working her way forward now, getting inside, working the body."

McCarthy: "Game plans becoming very clear early on. Jewel wanta to pressure and bang, Stowe wants to box."

O'Dell: "And Jewel having her way at the moment, working past the jab, crowding Stowe, banging hooks to the body, forcing her backward."

McCarthy: "Typical Kilcher walkdown. Stowe may not have the legs to counter this kind of thing anymore..."

O'Dell: "Jewel lands a good, hard right at the bell and that's round one. After the early Stowe flurry, all Jewel."

McCarthy: "Definitely Kilcher's round."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second underway now and Jewel again working her way forward, crowding Stowe, working body. Nothing pretty about this, Mac, but it's effective..."

McCarthy: "Stowe isn't going to be able to leg away from this pressure. She's going to have to punch for respect at some..."

O'Dell: "NASTY LEFT-RIGHT, JEWEL! Stowe wobbled, Jewel a short left hook...straight right...Stowe in trouble...Jewel backing her into the ropes...BIG FLURRY AND MADELINE HAMMERED TO HER KNEES!"

McCarthy: "Stowe's got to be rethinking the idea to come back to the ring..."

O'Dell: "Madeleine getting to her feet, taking the mandatory, and Jewel right after her, backing her into the ropes and going body..."

McCarthy: "Stowe can't keep her off, Jenny. Jewel just going to town..."

O'Dell: "Madeleine covering up, clinching, Jewel punching free. Good right hand wobbles Stowe again. Madeleine tying up as the round ends, but Jewel's in firm control."

McCarthy: "Up 20-17 on the cards, but, even more importantly, she's getting her way in there."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Into the third now and Jewel continuing to pressure. Stowe working the jab, but the blonde's walking through it...THAT got her attention, Mac! Nice, clean right stopped Jewel in her tracks!"

McCarthy: "Best punch of the fight for Stowe. This is what I was talking about. She has to punch for respect."

O'Dell: "Nice double-tap jab by Stowe...AND ANOTHER HARD RIGHT! That wobbled Jewel's knees!"

McCarthy: "This is what Stowe needed! She's backed Jewel off now. She can get some space and box for points..."

Tess: "I'm going to point out to the fans that Mac's analysis has been right on in this fight..."

O'Dell: "Guys in the truck, call Hell and get me a temperature reading. Meanwhile, Madeleine using that space very well right now, working the jab and fitting rights off it. Keeping Jewel at a distance. Scoring well. There's the bell for the third and that's Stowe's first round of the night."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Bell for the fourth, and Madeleine Stowe boxing rangy right now. Keeping Jewel outside with a pinpoint jab, putting punches together..."

McCarthy: "Age is nothing but a number, I tell you..."

O'Dell: "Jewel working inside again, going body now. Kilcher wants to pressure, looking to grind the older woman down. Hooking the lats, working to slow Stowe and bring that guard down. Stowe lands a nice short right...JEWEL COUNTERS WITH A LEFT HOOK AND STOWE'S HURT!"

McCarthy: "Perfectly timed. She was waiting on that right..."

O'Dell: "Jewel bangs back to the body. Stowe covering up...LEFT HOOK AGAIN! DOWN GOES STOWE!"

Tess: "Jewel has a ton of power at this weight, and she's wearing Stowe out with it..."

O'Dell: "Madeleine up at seven, takes the count, quickly backed into the ropes, covering up as Jewel goes back to work on the body. Stowe hanging on in a high guard here, catching the high stuff on the gloves. Jewel concentrating downstairs as the fourth ends. And we've got a touch 'em up here! A little mutual respect. Jewel giving it up to Stowe..."

McCarthy: "Got to give her credit. She's down 39-35, but she's competing out there."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Action underway in the fifth now, and Stowe looking to jab and circle now. Good flurry right there for Madeleine! Landed some clean stuff..."

McCarthy: "Stowe is slick. Slicker than I thought..."

O'Dell: "Jewel firing back now. Getting squared up and backing Madeleine up with a couple of hard lefts. Stowe covers up as Jewel goes body again..."

McCarthy: "Any questions about Stowe's chassis are being answered, anyway..."

O'Dell: "Sure are, because Jewel's giving it a workout. Walking Stowe down, thumping away with lusty hooks downstairs and some hard straight rights to the head."

McCarthy: "Stowe needs to get off those ropes..."

O'Dell: "RIGHT HAND, JEWEL! Stowe wobbled again! Jewel letting the hands go! Stowe clinching, hanging on. Jewel back to the body, getting the hands free, lands a couple of hard shots to the head! Stowe reeling at the bell!"

Tess: "What's holding this girl up?"

McCarthy: "It's called 'pride', Wal-Mart. And Madeleine Stowe's got plenty of it."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth round underway now and Jewel forward quickly, walking through Stowe's jab, baging back to the body..."

McCarthy: "Seeing some winces of pain from Stowe now. This kind of body attack takes its toll after awhile..."

Tess: "Yeah, I remember what YOUR face looked like when Neve gutted you in that title fight..."

McCarthy: "Neve...she...that's...SHUT UP, WALMART!"

O'Dell: "Weather forecast for Hell: HOT. And the forecast for Stowe is mostly painful with scattered body shots...and THERE'S A NASTY RIGHT-LEFT FROM JEWEL! Stowe is hurt again! Jewel rocking her along the ropes. Madeleine stumbling toward the corner, trying to clinch, slips away to the center...AND ROCKED WITH A LEFT HOOK! Jewel hammering away, routing Stowe. Madeleine wobbles back toward the opposite ropes. Jewel pounding at the body as Stowe gets the guard up. Referee looking closely..."

McCarthy: "This guy needs to stop this fight. Give Stowe credit for tons of guts, but..."

O'Dell: "Stowe being driven along the ropes toward the other corner, getting punished pillar to post. Bell! That's the sixth and Jewel is I command."

McCarthy: "I have it 59-53. Card's looking as ugly for Stowe as that last round did."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Into the seventh now and Jewel looking to put this one to bed. Right at Madeleine off the bell. Stowe lands a nice, hard right and follows with a left hook, stopping Jewel's advance..."

McCarthy: "Kilcher's making a mistake here. This fight is hers. She's got a huge lead. She needs to keep doing what she's been doing. No need to push for the KO here..."

O'Dell: "Stowe lands another nice combination. The right hand snapped Jewel's head back. Kilcher getting a little sloppy here and Stowe making her pay."

McCarthy: "You know, this is probably Stowe's last FCBA fight..."

O'Dell: "What makes you say that, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Think any of the younger girls who might have been thinking about using her as an opponent are having second thoughts?"

O'Dell: "Good point. And there are some more points for Stowe. Another nice flurry stopped Jewel's advance. Stowe circles away behind the jab, lands ANOTHER one-two!"

McCarthy: "Jewel a little unsteady after that last flurry..."

O'Dell: "Stowe double-pumps the jab at the bell. Excellent round for Madeleine!"

McCarthy: "She's still way behind, but give her credit. She's tough and proud and she can still box. Age. Is. Nothing. But. A. Number."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "On to the eighth round and Jewel back to her pressure tactics, working her way in on the taller woman, hooking the midsection. Stowe being forced backward. Jewel a left hook and...BIG RIGHT HAND, STOWE! STAGGERED JEWEL! STOWE ALL IN, LETTING THE HANDS GO! JEWEL COVERING UP IN THE
ROPES AND..."

McCarthy: "He stopped it! He stopped it!"

Tess: "What? No way!"

O'Dell: "The referee has stopped this fight and Jewel is LIVID! Campbell and Spears out of the Front Street corner protesting..."

McCarthy: "I'm sorry, but that's a bad call. No way should that have been stopped..."

Tess: "I'm with Mac on this one. Referee blew it. Jewel was defending herself. Terrible call!"

O'Dell: "Boys, check that temperature down in Hell again, would you? And, while they're doing that, I'm gonna chime in and say 'bad call', too. If you're going to stop it there, you have to stop it about ten times before this when Jewel had Stowe hurt. But it's going to stand. The winner by TKO8, Madeleine Stowe! No hard feelings from Jewel toward Madeleine. Wraps the arm around her, congratulates her. Neve'd like to wrap something around the referee's neck, and it isn't an arm. "

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring where Tess Valmore has our winner."

Tess: "Madeleine, a little bit of a controversial decision, but a great effort on your end..."

Stowe: "I wouldn't have wanted to lose like that, that's for sure. I want to thank Jewel and Front Street for giving me this fight. I wanted to show I could still do it, and I did that. I'm not going to be making any title runs at this point in my career, but I like to fight and I'm still good at it, and I'm hoping my performance tonight might get me some more opportunities."
