BEFORE:

"I went ten with Neve Campbell," says a confident Amanda. "She's bigger and stronger and tougher than Nicole. This is a big opportunity at this point in my career. I'm not going to waste it."

"Amanda's slick," says Nicole. "She's a veteran. And she's planning to pull a Halle Berry tonight. But she's going to find out that she's not Halle Berry. Not even Halle Berry is Halle Berry."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and..."

McCarthy: "What was The Original Dancing Hooker TALKING about. She doesn't think Halle Berry is Halle Berry? I must have hit her too hard when we fought..."

Tess: "Instapoll number two. Vote now, fans. How many of you think Mac's head will explode before she figures this one out?"

McCarthy: "Shut UP, Wal..."

O'Dell: "And there's 'Brighter Than Sunshine' by Aqualung and here comes Amanda Peet. Peet making her way to the ring, climbing in, helped off with the robe...looking good in that white number, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Yet ANOTHER woman looking hot as she heads for 40..."

O'Dell: "And, speaking of hot, that's 'Don't Cha' and here comes 'The Hawaiian Hammer', Nicole Scherzinger..."

McCarthy: "Hot? This girl has the most overrated figure in the FCBA..."

Tess: "Well, perhaps the body doesn't go as you near 40, but clearly the eyes do..."

McCarthy: "My eyes are just FINE..."

O'Dell(sighing): "Hey, we're into the third bout and still on the air. Let's call that a win. Nicole into the ring, helped off with the robe...Wow. Nicole looking great in a pink, purple, and white striped number..."

Tess: "THAT body is overrated? I'll bet just about any woman here would trade for it..."

McCarthy: "Well, I, for one, would NOT..."

Tess: "You'd need yours and a Playmate to be named later to get the deal done..."

McCarthy: "Listen, you skinny..."

O'Dell: "Mac, how about a prediction?"

McCarthy: "I'm going with the cougar again. Peet may not be Berry, but Berry's Berry and Berry beat the Dancing Hooker so Peet can beat the Dancing Hooker even if Peet isn't Berry, because Berry IS Berry!"

Tess: "Translations of that will be made available after the fight...assuming we put about four Crays on it right now. Meanwhile, the fans are making their predictions and they're overwhelmingly for a Scherzinger victory."

McCarthy: "Well, they made Jewel the favorite, too, and who was right about THAT one?"

O'Dell: "And there's the bell for round one. Scherzinger bobbing and circling, looking to locate with the jab. Amanda showing angles, using her length and her own long left to keep distance. Nicole not able to put anything together..."

McCarthy: "Peet might not be Berry, but she's using Halle's blueprint..disrupt The Dancing Hooker's rhythm. Halle used slick defense and inside work and clinching to smother her. Peet's combining the slick 'D' with reach..."

O'Dell: "BOOMING RIGHT HAND, PEET! OH, SHE CAUGHT SCHERZINGER CLEAN AND HAS HER HURT!"

McCarthy: "Great shot. Set that up beautifully!"

O'Dell: "Amanda going to work now as Nicole covers up. Scherzinger wobbly as Peet lets the hand go. Amanda landing a straight right between the gloves that snapped the head back, hooks the body, puts together a three-punch combination, two of them landed clean."

McCarthy: "Peet being smart about this. Not going all in. Sticking with the plan. Scoring in bunches."

O'Dell: "And there's the bell. End of the first and a great round for Peet."

McCarthy: "Check the replay on the big right hand. Amanda got Nicole reaching. Watch as Scherzinger reaches out with that left, stretching too far, leaves her vulnerable for just a second and...BAM! Peet whips the right to the chin! Perfect!"

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Back to live action now and Peet right after Nicole, using that reach to work the left and fit right hands. Nicole forced to cover up!"

McCarthy: "Scherzinger still a little buzzed from the last round, Jenny!"

O'Dell: "Looks that way, Mac, and Peet's figured it out! Amanda letting the hands go, taking the fight to the former number one contender. Peet moving in now, crowding Nicole, smothering her, landing good shots."

McCarthy: "Peet very agressive, Jenny! Burying that head in the chest and getting off. Taking full advantage of a wobbly Scherzinger!"

O'Dell: "Amanda busy, working, LANDS A HARD LEFT-RIGHT THAT WOBBLED NICOLE! Scherzinger backed to the ropes. Peet lands a straight right. Another. Scherzinger in a tight guard, all defense as the round ends! Nicole wobbly back to the corner. Another big round for Peet."

McCarthy: "Amanda IS Halle Berry. She's using Berry's strategy perfectly. And she's got Scherzinger in trouble just like Halle did. She's also up 20-18."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Into the third round now and Peet back to that jab. Nice, accurate, long lefts..."

McCarthy: "Using that to control Scherzinger's speed instead of clinching in tight like Berry did, but it's working just as well."

O'Dell: "Nicole unable to put anything together. Landing one punch at a time. Peet getting a lot more work done...BIG RIGHT CROSS, AMANDA! SCHERZINGER WOBBLED AGAIN!"

McCarthy: "Got her reaching again! She's frustrating The Dancing Hooker and Nicole's getting sloppy. And when she does, Amanda's making no mistake."

O'Dell: "Peet banging away again, forcing Nicole backward. Scherzinger again with the guard up, forced over to the defensive. Amanda staying disciplined. Working the jab, crossing off of it. Putting together nice flurries. Scherzinger again back in the ropes getting worked over as the bell rings."

McCarthy: "Peet's totally dominating her. I've said all along that Scherzinger is no top-tier fighter, and Amanda's proving me right!"

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Into the fourth now, and, if you just joined us, you're hearing me right. Amanda Peet is pitching a shutout!"

McCarthy: "Scherzinger eats a double-tap jab! Peet's just totally controlling this girl! Nicole can't get anything at all done. Totally flummoxed..."

Tess: "And now we know what word was on Jenny's 'Word-Of-The-Day Calendar' this morning..."

McCarthy: "'Flummoxed' was last week! Today was 'puerile'!"

Tess: "I couldn't PAY someone to write this stuff.."

O'Dell: "PEET WITH A STRAIGHT RIGHT! SCHERZINGER STAGGERED...LEFT HOOK, AMANDA...RIGHT HOOK! NICOLE ALMOST GOES DOWN!"

McCarthy: "Got her reaching AGAIN, Jenny!"

O'Dell: "Peet chasing her to the ropes. Scherzinger backed up. Amanda snapping the head back with a pair of hard rights. Left hook and Scherzinger staggers! Right hand snaps the head back again...IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER! Amanda Peet leaping in the air in celebration! She did it! Amanda Peet stops Nicole Scherzinger! Un. Believable!"

McCarthy: "Well, you fans who took MY pick to the windows have some extra spend money now, because the winner by TKO4 is Amanda Peet!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go to the ring and Tess Valmore..."

Tess: "Amanda, I hope you won't be offended if I call this an upset..."

Amanda(smiling broadly): "I was, what, EIGHTY spots behind her in the last rankings? Yeah, I think you could call it an upset."

Tess: "But, you seemed confident coming in, seemed that way the whole fight..."

Amanda: "I knew I could do this. I can FIGHT, Tess. But, like a lot of girls, I just haven't had the opportunities. I got one tonight, and, at my age, I knew there wouldn't be many more of them. I HAD to take advantage. And I did. Now, all I can do is hope my phone starts ringing."
