This should be a good contrast in styles – Katy’s a little quicker with the mitts, but Martine's a good doughty competitor who can take a punch, stand her ground and trade – trade rough if she has to, as well.

Into the ring come the girls, Martine first, looking trimmer these days and wearing a black bikini tonight, followed swiftly by a nervy looking Katy in sexed up red bra and knickers – the girls look ready for battle.

Round 1

Both girls jab at the outset, trying each other out, with Martine the one having to take evasive action at first, then beckoning Katy to come on in, before sidestepping her way out of trouble, then she stands and double jabs Katy, covering up, then spotting Perry some more. As the round moves on, Martine’s landing some nice shots, then in comes Katy, wildly swinging and missing to set up a pinpoint perfect counter-hook from McCutcheon to put Katy down in second minute, the younger girl looking all mixed up as she rises at 6. From there, Martine hustles and bustles, and just won’t let Katy settle, giving her some tasty punches to take the points.

Round 2

Katy’s a little slow off her stool, and Martin takes advantage of that, nad lands well, then down goes Katy again - Martine's first knockdown may have looked lucky: not this one - she jabs Katy's face, drops in a tidy right hand and Perry's on her butt in minute one. Katy ROARS off canvas at 5, battering Martine in reprisal, really cuffing the Brit around the body, leather slapping hard into her midriff. McCutcheon shows her sturdiness by absorbing the beating and returning fire late. Most cards will have this at 10-9 by the bell for Martine given Katy's rally, but it's also noteworthy that Martine was the one punching at the very end.

Round 3

Katy starts this round better, settling down at last, and realizing that she’s not going to wipe Martine out with one punch, She starts to vary her shots a little more, landing a few headshots, but working the Brit to her body as well, and she’s far more effective, now. She catches Martine some very hard licks in the flanks and ribs, and has the actress gasping as she takes her medicine laying on the ropes, with Katy starting to weaken her resolves as she hits her with some real power to take this round.

Round 4

Katy continues to get off first, hit Martine hard, and move her back. The Brit is getting a little bit of a beating as Katy works her hard to the body, and now begins to take her attack upstairs, and she rocks the older girl with a left hook, which has the actress wobbling to the ropes. Martine won’t go down though, much to Katy’s surprise, and the American comes in after her again, really hurts her now to the belly, has her girls nicely softened up for the finish, surely – but no, Martine’s legs are holding her up under heavy fire in this round, which is easily won by Perry, but most girls would have dropped from that beating.

Round 5

Out come the girls again, and Martine’s starting to look puffy round the eyes as Katy takes charge, giving the actress a bit of a battering at the beginning of the round again, then, as Martine backs off, she has those hooks ripping into the older girl’s flanks, each one bringing a little squeak from Martine’s lips, but still the girl battles on, clinching and holding where she can, never really letting Katy have total control, especially in the final minute when she battles back, but it’s not enough to stop Katy clocking up another round in what’s becoming quite a surprising contest.

Round 6

Again the girls exchange in mid ring, but Martine’s jabs aren’t registering any pain in Katy now, and the singer rips into her, banging her a couple of times really hard with that left hand of hers, then she hurts Martine again quite badly with a right hook that has the actress wobbling and staggering back to the ropes, but she clings on like a limpet when Katy comes in too close to go for the knockdown, and now Martine, with her left eye looking suspect, is becoming a target for Katy’s right hook, but she kind of overworks the idea, and by the final minute, Martine has her wits back and she's working hard to hit Perry and knock her head back repeatedly, giving the singer a late two fisted blast – she’s a very durable girl is Martine, and she’s taken some good shots tonight.

Round 7

Martine tries to get her jabs in first, but Katy's having her way here now, outworking and outhitting the actress, and she gives her a nasty moment with that right hook again, spatting it right into her mouth, and again, and a third time, but the Brit still covers up and carries on. Martine’s rocked there, then in comes Katy again, straight after the girls are broken, and she’s got her with a left hand there which has the Brit’s knees buckling, but she’s refusing to go down. The round goes on the same way, with Katy spreading Martine against the ropes once again, and she turns the older girl’s head sideways with a booming left hook just before the end. Katy returns to her corner a little shocked that she didn't get a knockdown after some very clean connects.

Round 8

Martine somehow has renewed energy after the interval, and she starts to land punches around Perry’s ribcage, then she’s half punching, half pushing the singer around the ring, and she gets Katy into the ropes, and she works her over! There’s nothing fancy in Martine's work as she just plunders the Perry body with heavy punching – now she’s looking for the knockdown as the American seems to be running out of gas and ideas, almost letting the actress give her some stick to her body, and getting hurt too – in the final seconds, Martine gives that famous rack a few choice little uppercuts, and that will surely spur the singer back into action when the resume after this great effort by Martine.

Round 9

Sure enough, Katy comes off her stool looking angry, but she’s reverted to that silly wild bar-room brawl style again, really wild, and that didn’t work before, so it won’t work now. Perry calms down the manner of her attack, but not the severity, and she sustains a remarkable tempo of punches, once again finding the mark by the halfway point, and she staggers Martine with tow good right hooks to that lumped up eye of hers, before landing a left hand to the older girl’s mouth which sends her backwards to the ropes. Martine clinches, buys some time, then gets hurt again after they’re broken, with Katy now clearly looking to finish off the badly hurt actress.

Round 10

Incerdibly, we reach the final round, and Katy unleashes hell, battering Martine pillar to post in a bid to finish the fight. McCutcheon is getting hammered virtually senseless, but still refusing to go to the floor, even when Katy lands a punch to her mouth which sends her mouthguard spinning to the floor. Martine just waits for it to be replaced, then poses again in defensive mode, with Perry just unloading everything she’s got, sending the British girl reeling to the right, then to the left, her face a desolate mass of lumps and bruises, but somehow she’s standing at bell.

Despite being floored twice, Katy Perry takes the fight on points over Martine McCutcheon, whom she congratulates after the fight for putting up such a great defensive performance – boy did she take some shots out there!
