The last fight of tonight's event brings up the strongest woman in BBU competition, former lightweight and reigning welterweight champion Sabrina Washington in her third title defence against Catherine Tyldesley (Girls Friday) whose challenge for the crown has been labelled as a major surprise considering her short resume of just three fights. Is there a need for BBU to ehance their welterweight division in wake of Washington's dominance? Most of the pundits don't give Tyldesley the smallest of chances if Washington takes this bout for real. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Champ is taking this bout for real, stepping up immediately and launching couple of hooks to the head and Catherine can only cover up straight away, unable to keep up with Sabrina. Washington piles on with more big hooks, testing the blonde's guard to the extreme and one left hook breaks through, nailing the challenger on the mouth. There's more to come as Tyldesley gets pushed to the ropes under a relentless barrage and soon Washington rocks her head from side to side with more hooks. The blonde still hasn't unloaded a single punch and Sabrina scoffs at her with anger, no resistance to speak of and the champ is angry. She catches Catherine in the chest before circling away and enabling her to catch a breath. That was almost a sign of sympathy towards the blonde. Tyldesley stunned by the onslaught barely lowers her guard, but Sabrina has no intentions of punishing her anymore. Crowd is dead silent as they're not sure what to expect from the champ next, but they'll have to wait until round two to find out.

Round 2:
Massive cheer at the start as Catherine throws and lands her first punch of the evening, grazing Sabrina's breasts, but the champ responds and rocks her with a left hook around the guard that catches her in the nose. Tyldesley winces and immediately covers up, but Sabrina steps on her, jabbing to the midsection and delivering a massive uppercut that breaks the blonde's guard. Straight jab in the nose brings out a loud moan from Tyldesley and Sabrina scores more single shots to the face as she cuts through her rival's guard with ease and backs her against the ropes. Catherine tries to clinch but gets laced in the guts couple of times before Sabrina lands a nasty jab in the ear and that's more then Catherine can handle. She bends forwards and gets helped on to the canvas by a cracking low jab from the left. Tyldesley lands on her knees as the ref starts the count. She gets up at six and breaths heavily, her face pretty swollen already after the neverending onslaught from the champion. She nods her head but gets a reality check immediately after the command with Washington lacing her in the mouth couple of times. Tyldesley back on the ropes again, covers up, waits for the bell and Sabrina pummels her with sharp jabs from both sides. Blonde sinks further down on her knees but gets saved by the bell as Sabrina's charge just came a fractgion too late. She oozes confidence walking to her stool and Catherine's just happy to make it this far.

Round 3:
Tyldesley tries to bide some time by circling around the ropes, but Sabrina jumps up to her and lands a couple of jabs to the face. Catherine winces but throws a hook in response and that barely misses the champ's head. Here's the counter though, right hook from Sabrina lands straight on the jaw and the blonde gets stunned as she pays the price for not raising her gloves quick enough. Another hook from the left nails her in the ear and it's back to the head rocking from the champion who literally pounds the will to fight out of the hapless challenger. Tyldesley's guard is gone, she drops her arms alltogether and there's a right hook in the mouth sending her spinning down on the canvas. Don't bother with the count. It's all over!!! KO R3 and STILL the BBU welterweight champion Sabrina Washington!!!

Post-fight:
Sabrina barely sports a smile after the fight. It was as routine as any practice day in the gym. Bookies could have well pulled this bout from their sheets. The only surprise was that it lasted three rounds, some hardcore fans expected Mike Tyson-like 90 seconds blow out, but Sabrina toyed around with the challenger too much, especially towards the end of the opening round.

Catherine Tyldesley is a promising fighter but definitely not in the Washington's league. She was given a very rough treatment and hardly made the champion sweat tonight. One cannot predict whether this loss will affect her career in a serious matter, but heads up, there are still many women in the division who'll come second best to this very brave blonde. Challenging Sabrina Washington for the BBU title requires a lot of courage and all credits to Catherine for throwing down the gauntlet even if she ended up way short of the mark.
