BEFORE. Holland finally finds a new face in boxing after years of Famke Janssen in Sylvie van der Vaart. Sylvie's petite but muscular, certainly fit enough for BBU. Her first bout against German idol Jeanette Biedermann ended with a hard-fought defeat, and now she's impatient to get her first victory in her native Holland. "I know Virginie has a lot of experience, but she's gone through a lot recently and she doesn't seem as good as she used to be. It'll be great to have a victory against her!" Ledoyen certainly in some trouble in these days -she is on a losing streak in the FCBA and she can't afford to lose here against the rookie Sylvie. "I am certainly feeling better now -I think that my fight with Hayden was great, and Sylvie is in no way comparable to her. I will have a great victory tonight!" Virginie experience can't be denied, but upsets are certainly possible when new, underappreciated fighters make their appearance at such levels. Sylvie in orange bikini and gloves; Ledoyen in navy blue bikini and red gloves. And crowd totally on Sylvie's side, of course -will it be a factor?

R1. Both fighters out quick, getting to the middle of the ring with a combative attitude. Sylvie uses her jab to check Ledoyen's gloves, pat pat on leather, but gets too close, dropping a little her guard AND LEDOYEN ROCKS HER WITH THE RIGHT HOOK! Crowd frozen, silent for a moment as Sylvie sprawl on all fours, surprised by Ledoyen's hasty hook. Virginie jumps around, smiling, while Sylvie gets up at six. Sylvie manages to get some rest here, staying on the outside, with Ledoyen slowly in pursuit, but then attacks again! Ledoyen now tagged by Sylvie's sprinkling right, she has to retreat and leave the initiative to the home girl. Still, Sylvie's hittable by Virginie's counter right -not with the same power of the earlier hook, but with enough power to keep Virginie ahead in the whole first round.

R2. Ledoyen tries to slow the pace, planning to hit Sylvie with her longer arms as soon as the Dutch rookie commits a mistake. Sylvie accepts the test, jumping on her heels, but then charges at full speed again. Ledoyen tries to stop her with a straight right, but here Sylvie ducks and answers with a right uppercut that crashes on Virginie's mitts, but Sylvie is quick again and gets to Virginie's head with a blistering left hook AND VIRGINIE GOES DOWN! Crowd erupts as the veteran French fighter takes a knee, shaking her head in disbelief. Virginie up at four, still fresh, but clearly touched in her pride by the unexpected reaction of Sylvie. Virginie does not shy away here -she shows Sylvie what she's capable of with a quick flurry of punches to the head. Sylvie now the one to retreat, pressed to the ropes by the enraged Frenchwoman -quick exchange there still favoring Virginie, but Sylvie takes the round and a shot of confidence in the process!

R3. Virginie does not stop, she marches on Sylvie, jabbing from the outside to the body, hitting the proud Dutch fighter with her right with Sylvie not answering back. Virginie pours in when she wants -the home fighter has to do something to stop the assault now. Finally, Sylvie open her guard a little, starting to use her right to counter Virginie's attacks -nice exchange in the middle of the ring now, with Sylvie getting the better of it as she blocks one of Virginie's punches and counters with a crisp right hook that finds Virginie's head. Ledoyen shocked -and enraged! Virginie steps forward again, going on autopilot -Sylvie tries to cover, yet she's forced to backpedal to the ropes. Virginie traps the shorter woman there, punishing her torso, then going to the head -right/right/left find little to no defense in Sylvie's gloves AND THE DUTCH IS DOWN AGAIN! Crowd murmuring silently -Sylvie clearly dazed here, she tries to do her best to rise to her feet with the help of the ropes. Virginie keeps the pressure -Sylvie resorts to clinching to let the round end. Three rounds, three knockdowns, with Virginie leading the count 2-1 and leading the fight too. Frantic work in Sylvie's corner -FAB's people know she has to do better to fight Virginie.

R4. Sylvie out quick, but she's struggling to keep the pace. Virginie too quick for her now -her jab works on Sylvie's body, eliciting constant yells of pain and disbelief from the Dutch fighter. Van der Vaart tries to step forward, but Virginie pushes her back again, finally hitting her with a right hook that makes Sylvie reel on her heels. Sylvie covers now, Virginie attacks -uptempo action from the French veteran puts pressure on Sylvie again. Virginie gets closer, working on Sylvie's belly, then shifting to the breast, and then goes up with the uppercut and OH NO SYLVIE GOES DOWN AGAIN! Dutch girl ruins on her derriere, then falls on her side, rolls over and grabs the ropes, desperately trying to beat the count. Sylvie groggily gets up at eight, and then she's checked by the official. Virginie now shouts "Stop the fight, ref!" but apparently Sylvie is good to go. And she is- Virginie follows up, trying to get closer to finish the fight, but Sylvie answers in rhymes! Virginie touched at her breast, even bamboozled by the spirit of the Dutch girl -Sylvie scores for points in the last seconds, telling everybody she's still in the game.

R5. Virginie's not happy, you can tell it from her face, and she resumes her one-sided attack to Sylvie. Crowd now very vocal, cheering Sylvie, but it's not enough to push her forward. Sylvie hesitant, too hesitant on Virginie's feisty attack, with the jab that again hits her straight in several occasions. Sylvie's legs buckle for a moment AND SYLVIE GOES DOWN! Sylvie sprawls on all fours, with Virginie pumping her fist in the air as if she were to celebrate her victory. But Sylvie gets up again -for fourth time in the fight- with Virginie frowning in disbelief: "You have to stop this fight!" she shouts again to the ref, but he clearly does not agree. Sylvie now shuts off Virginie, clinching, trying to buy as much time as possible -she's wounded for sure, but she has heart! Sylvie's right catches Virginie unprepared, then she hits Virginie's right temple in the following exchange, with the French veteran almost out on her feet! Virginie now trapped at the ropes, Sylvie pounding her with anger -the crowd simply erupts at this unexpected resurgence of their idol! Finally, the bell puts an end to the round -Virginie's clearly ahead on points, but she has been punished in the last part of this round by a very resilient Sylvie van der Vaart!

R6. Girls start slowly - Virginie trying to find Sylvie's weak spot, Sylvie simply trying to get more oxygen. Virginie still mobile, legs supporting her well, and she's able to jump around Sylvie, faking twice with the right AND THE VIRGINIE UNLEASHES HER LEFT HAND! Sylvie caught off-guard, stumbles forward, and Virginie follows with a right/left combo to the face AND FINISHES HER WITH A RIGHT UPPERCUT TO THE CHIN! Oh poor Sylvie -she finally collapses to the mat with a dull sound and there is no doubt she's going to stay there for a long time. The ref doesn't even bother to count -Virginie Ledoyen has stopped Sylvie van der Vaart with a brutal KO 6!

AFTER. Virginie check on Sylvie -she wants to be sure that she's OK- but she's immediately pushed away by the FAB security "Hey I just wanted to check she was OK" she shouts to the booing crowd. Finally, order is reestablished, paramedics check that Sylvie is OK, and finally the Dutch fighter is escorted to her locker room. "It was a nice fight -Sylvie is not quite ready yet, but she has heart and she will do better than she did tonight. As for me- I think that I have left some defeats behind. I am doing great against dangerous fighters, and I feel it's time to step up against big names. I have a rematch with Emily Browning scheduled for the near future, and I've just learned that I will fight Emily Atack in the next BBU card. Also, perhaps Denise Van Outen will arrange her best flyweight friend to be checked by me? I am starting to enjoy this BBU league, you know?"
