The Downunder Boxing vs Lioness Club rematch event concludes with the evergreen legend Elle MacPherson taking on a fellow model Alex Curran, a woman 19 years her junior. Despite MacPherson being the oldest woman to compete on international scene around the world, she shows no signs of calling a day on her career, having won the ACB Welterweight title in January and then following it up with a KO6 victory over Pippa Middleton few weeks later.

Meanwhile the buxom Merseyside model Curran has also fought twice this year, first earning a draw against Jessie J and then losing a close decision to Manuela Arcuri. The entire Lioness Club pins it's hopes of securing a draw in the event on Alex and she's wary of the task ahead against MacPherson, looking very focused as she makes her way onto the ring. The Aussie legend follows her suit with a broad smile on her face, looking extremely laid back and just enjoying this opportunity in the waning days of her career. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Alex quick on the attack, leaps up with a jabbing sequence, testing Elle's guard early. Wild slaps from the Merseyside blonde, but the effect is minimal, MacPherson fends her away and sidesteps into safety, throwing single jabs in response. Curran steps on her though, seemingly barely impressed by the Aussie icon's skills. More hooks aimed at the head follow, but Elle just weaves around them and finally halts her foe's high-energy actions with a nasty low hook to the ribcage that forces Curran back. Elle slowly circles around her as Alex works some single jabs from mid-range, barely grazing the Aussie though. Late in the round, Elle lands a good combo to the chest as Alex moved within striking distance, but then a follow-up hook crashes off the guard and both women clinch at the bell.

Round 2:
Curran dictates the opening exchange, lands a couple of low hooks to the ribs and catches the Aussie in the cheek with a solid follow-up. Crowd remains relatively quiet, perhaps overwhelmed by MacPherson's presence but Alex has none of it, throws a flurry of shots to the chest and stomach, looks to wear the older woman out with a neverending display of aggression. Elle weathers this early storm though, ducks and weaves, lands single shots in response, just lettting the Merseyside model know she's still there. Alex cannot break the Aussie's guard in the second half of the round despite repeated efforts. She flies in with vicious hooks, but Elle's footwork is top class, she leaves the younger blonde cutting the air far too many times and counters with low jabs to the ribcage. Curran leaps angrily a couple of times, but gets whacked in the boobs and retreats as Elle continues keeping her at bay until the bell.

Round 3:
Alex steps in but gets trapped on the front foot and fails to connect with a right hook and MacPherson counters with a massive left hook to the cheek herself! Curran's head snaps back as she wobbles on her feet and Elle pours in with a gutwrencher from the right which forces the Merseyside girl to bend down and look for a clinch. Elle nails her in the ribs couple of times, before backing against the ropes and the ref steps in quickly to separate the girls, but the Aussie model looks to have kicked into gear, throws a flurry of punches on the face and breaks through Alex's guard a couple of times. Head-snappig experience for the local blonde and she tries to jump to the side, but gets nailed in the jugs with another left hook which almost has her stumbling down. Elle moves on her and she means business now, opens from both wings and lands a series of wild hooks, Alex just covers up and weaves around them, but still eats some leather as MacPherson dominates the round, keeps the younger girl pinned against the ropes and tames her resistance with ease. Not much power behind Elle's shots, but still enough to prevent Alex from countering; the intensity of this onslaught makes up for the lack of core strenght. In teh dying seconds MacPherson rocks Curran's head with a cross-hooking combo and at the bell the local blonde looks concerned, glances over at the Aussie with little confidence in her eyes. Elle just turns away and walks back to her stool, ready for more action soon.

Round 4:
Alex bides her time along the ropes, looking to stretch Elle's patience, but it's not gonna happen as the older blonde harrasses her with a jabbing sequence and throws more hooks to the head, forcing Curran to cover up and counter with single shots that make little impression. Elle whacks her straight between the gloves and Alex winces as her own leather crashes off her nose and there's a fine follow up to the ribs that causes the local girl to moan even louder. Elle pummels her into the corner, buries under a another sequence and Alex just absorbs the punishment, unable to tame the onslaught. Aussie leans on her, finds a way through with an uppercut from the left and bends down the younger model with another gutwrencher. Curran ducks and weaves in despair, tries to land some single jabs but misses it and gets countered with a huge right hook on the eye! Loud scream from Alex, she slumps against the corner post and Elle just mauls her face with a cross-hooking combo!!! Gloves drop down and CURRAN SLIDES ON THE CANVAS looking stunned by that sequence!! MacPherson jumps away as the ref starts the count but Alex shakes her head and gets up at seven, nodding back and forth in response. Only a scare for the local faithful, but Elle keeps the reality check, piles in with more hooks to the head and Curran escapes along the ropes, letting the Aussie veteran to waste some energy in a fruitless chase until the bell.

Round 5:
Elle keeps the high tempo going, squares up to the Merseyside foe and throws a solid sequence to the ribs before landing a crisp uppercut on the jaw and Alex's head snaps back again. She tries to repond with a series of wayward hooks, but the Aussie steps around them and counters with a crushing hook to the ribcage. Alex winces in pain and soaks up more low jabs to the stomach, bends down in the middle of the ring, looking for a clinch. Elle pours in with a cross-hooking combo, grazes the top of her head with the first one and nails straight in the eye with the second one! Curran stumbles back, lands on the ropes and Elle whacks her in the stomach with a series of jabs as she leaped after her. Alex covers up, works some straight jabs from behind the guard, but makes no impression on the Aussie rival whatsoever and Elle lands another hooking combo on the head moments later. Alex sinks on her knees, cannot escape into safety and has gloves pounded with a furious charge from the veteran. MacPherson finds a way through the gloves, reddens Alex's face with repeated shots and it's getting painful to watch. Elle just pummels the local girl in the head, ceases all the midsection shots and cuts Curran's guard wide open with her relentless charge. Twenty seconds on the clock and Alex just looks to hang on until half-distance but still takes another big hook on the nose and moans in agony. But Elle reaches her limits as well, she cannot send the younger girl tumbling down and drops the intensity alltogether clinching just before the bell. Alex's knees almost give way as she struggles to remain upright with the Aussie veteran leaning on her and the ref comes to the rescue shoving Elle back to her corner.

Round 6:
Worried looks in the Lioness corner, Alex's face is reddened extensively and she's breathing heavily, looking much worse at half-distance then her older rival. Elle catches her breath with some difficulty but exchanges calm words with coach and friend Nikki Visser during the interval and she charges out of her stool to start the sixth, jabbing to the midsection and forcing Curran back early on. Alex responds with single jabs, just grazes the Aussie's flesh and cruashes off the guard with a big left hook! She left her right arm too low again and Elle counters with a nasty hook in the breasts and follows up with a half-uppercut to the chin. Alex leans back and avoids getting nailed, but Elle whacks her in the stomach with another sequence and the younger model jumps to the ropes, looking to keep the distance. MacPherson pauses for a while, jabs from mid-range but steps in with single hooks, testing Alex's guard. Wild slaps from Elle, she's upped the tempo again in the second half of the round and Alex leans on the ropes again, almost too much for most of the audience and MacPherson flies in with a crushing hook! Alex covers up, weathers a follow up and another one, but then Elle goes low, laces her in the ribcage, finds a way through with a right hook to the stomach and Curran sinks on her knees. No letting off this time!!! MacPherson pummels the aching rival in arms and body, clips her cheeks with a jabbing sequence and finishes her charge with a left hook on the temple!! DOWN GOES CURRAN, crashing on her knees in the corner!!! Elle jumps away as the ref starts the count and this time Alex looks in more trouble, staring down on the canvas before she gets up at eight, taking as much time as possible. She nods back to the ref, but not as vigorously as with the first knockdown. Her face developed a nasty swelling and she looks a spent force in the ring, but comes back for more! Elle barks in amusement and charges straight at her, jabbing to the stomach and clipping her jaw with another uppercut! Alex sinks on her knees, just allowing MacPherson to bash her around, but there's the bell saving the battered Merseyside model from extinction! Lucky break but for how long?

Round 7:
Alex looks like she's had enough of this boxing lesson from the Aussie legend. She argues with coach Gina Wild, but there's no quitting in front of the home crowd! MacPherson relieves the fellow blonde from misery shortly afterwards as she moves in with a jabbing sequence, nails the hapless Alex in the stomach, clips her in the jaw with another uppercut and whacks a right hook on the temple. Alex was rooted to the spot absorbing all this punishment and falls down on her knees half-unconscious after that last strike!!! Almost a slow-mo reaction follows as Curran crashes on her face with arms spread on each side. Ref waves it off on the spot!! KO R7 Elle MacPherson in 'I AM LEGEND' fashion!

Post-fight:
Crowd impressed with stellar display of boxing from the reigning ACB champion even though it means that Downunder Boxing avenge their home loss from October and beat the Lioness Club 5-3 in the rematch event. Elle acknowledges the ovation but checks up with the fallen Alex Curran who just got thumped flat on her face with that late attack. She has seen it all through the years and understands the decision to forfeit the towel throw even at the cost of a heavy knockout which befell Alex tonight.

Coach Gina Wild exchanges words with both Elle and Nikki Visser in the middle of the ring, moments after Alex is brought back to her senses on her stool "We do not, I repeat, we do not throw in the towel on our home playground" Gina explains the Lioness Club policy "I know Alex will be mad at me for the next few days, but she knows our rules, you do not quit on the stool or else you're fired!! It's that simple. Besides, we've had worse defeats tonight, just look at Charlotte and Emma who both got battered senseless by the Aussie girls. She'll be fine next weekend already, losing to Elle MacPherson is not a disgrace even considering the age difference".

The rematch event is over and as Elle MacPherson's hand is raised at the end of fabulous but extremely brutal night of boxing, the KO Club is ready to present the trophies and announce special awards for tonight's performances.
