Another dark-haired newcomer makes her BBU debut in tonight's Lightweight Invitational event and it's Garnet Gunners UK's Emily Blunt looking to make an equally impressive start to her career as Aaliyah Johnson enjoyed just minutes earlier. Her opponent is the buxom blonde from Fight Club UK, Ali Bastian, veteran of just a single bout to her name however that was against the experienced Tiana Benjamin whom she pushed into a points decision on her debut which indicates a lot of promise for the 29 year old in the upcoming months.

Blunt signed for the Gunners in the fall of last year but because of managerial difficulties had to wait a long time before finally being given her maiden opportunity. She looks very focused entering the ring, but Bastian's equally ruthless with her presence, eyeing Blunt all the time from the opposite corner before they finally step forward and touch the gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Bastian moves in quickly straight off the bell, jabbing with confidence and keeping her rival on the back foot. Couple of nifty hooks swing around Blunt's head, but she avoids them well only to allow Bastian to back her to the ropes with a low sequence to the stomach. Emily looks for a response, misses a couple of swing herself and Ali whacks her in the chest with a huge jab, follows up with a vicious uppercut and has Blunt covering up early. Flurry of straight jabs come next, Bastian buries the brunette underneath her power, grazes the top of her head and dominates the opening round from there on. Blunt with a couple of leaps to the side, can't stay out of her opponent's reach though, throws simgle shots in response, but Bastian works her plan, repeatedly striking the stunned brunette. Panic mode for Blunt late in the round, leaps forward and tries to clinch, but Ali breaks through her guard and lands another massive jab on the nose, Emily's head snaps back and she sinks on the ropes, accepting more punishment. Bastian meets little resistance and continues the pounding, completely overwhelming her rival in the opening round. The bell sounds at the end of a very one-sided round and Blunt's clean shots can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Bastian's face brims with confidence as she walks towards her stool.

Round 2:
Ali wastes little time and continues her aggressive approach moments into the second. Blunt retreats towards the ropes after being grazed in the ribcage again and invites the menacing blonde into yet another attack. Bastian throws a cross-hooking combo, trying to split the brunette's gloves open, but Emily hold firm. Wild slaps from Ali, she peppers the hapless looking rival from both flanks, nails her underneath the elbows; Emily bends down and looks in real discomfort already. Big left hook from the blonde snaps her head to the side. Bastian literally pushes her through the ropes, she's closed all the distance and throws some uppercuts to the chin as Emily covers up, trying to weave around on her feet. She can't jump away, can't clinch either as Ali works the high-tempo attack with no signs of fatigue. Series of uppercuts snap Emily's head repeatedly and the brunette slumps on her knees, falls onto the ropes and absorbs more leather as Ali just doesn't give her one inch of breathing space. Couple of big jabs to the guts and Blunt moans in pain, another left to the temple and she wobbles heavily again. Right jab splits her gloves and catches in the nose clean!! DOWN GOES BLUNT sliding on her backside along the ropes!!! Bastian's relentless pounding finally breaks the brunette's resistance! Ref steps in and Emily has trouble with getting up; she uses the ropes to help herself and beats the count at seven, but looks visibly shaken, her face already swollen in places and sporting a couple of bruises on the cheeks. She's good to go, but Bastian's straight after her, landing a couple of big hooks from each side and Blunt's head snaps again! She covers up, but Ali peppers her with more jabs to the face and meets no resistance whatsoever. Loud moans of pain from Emily as the blonde's strikes shatter her gloves apart. Twenty seconds left on the clock and Ali piles in with another big jab to the nose. Blunt's knees give way again and she crashes HARD face-first on the canvas!!! Forget the count, she's not getting up from there... KO R2 Ali Bastian!!!

Post-fight:
Ref immediately calls for the medics as Emily doesn't move for a few seconds and there's a strong possibility of her getting knocked unconscious. But the medics roll her onto the back and give the thumbs up; Blunt's conscious but dazed and obviously struggling to come to terms with what happened there in the ring. She gets helped onto the stool and is escorted back to the locker room soon afterwards, but there's no doubt she was blown away tonight and must forget about this performance as soon as possible.

Meanwhile Ali parades around the ring, waving vigorously to the audience. Her maiden BBU victory materialized in very impressive fashion, almost too impressive to be true, but she really wrecked Emily Blunt in less then couple of rounds. Despite having just one bout under her belt beforehand, she looked as confident as a seasoned BBU veteran and overwhelmed the brunette in all areas. Fight Club UK might have quite a solid prospect for the future within their ranks and if the Tiana Benjamin clash left few people wondering of her potential, she certainly silenced them after tonight's performance. However there's more scrutiny required for Bastian and it remains very interesting how she fares against more experienced fighters like Lisa Maffia or Christine Bleakley given the chance.
