The Main Event of the Lightweight Invitational features a couple of TV presenters who have made some headway across Britian in recent weeks. Former morning TV's anchor Christine Bleakley has taken over Holly Willoughby's post as the lead presenter of the Dancing on Ice show which the latter occupied for six years prior. Many viewers have voiced their dismay upon the change allthough they were first to admit that Willoughby should be given a much better exposure opportunity as she's widely regarded as Britain's hottest TV presenter currently on hand

Willoughby has fought just once in BBU so far, losing early to the intimidating Kelly Rowland back in January while Bleakley comes off a fine win over Rachael Taylor in the Lioness Club vs Downunder Boxing rematch event, but has bad memories from her last internal TV presenters battle as Denise van Outen brutally knocked her out back in November. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

The blonde presenter clearly dominates the pre-fight chest contest, proudly filling that yellow bikini and the raven-haired local girl looks upset at the loud cheer when Holly's being introduced to the crowd.

Round 1:
Bleakley looks to stamp an authority on the bout straight off the bell, jabs ferociously at her rival's midsection and looks to land some hooks to the head, but Holly's guard tames those efforts and the blonde girl responds with a couple of hooks herself, forcing the Irish brunette to step back after a high-tempo opening. Both women circle around each other for few seconds, Bleakley grits her teeth, visibly upset by the fact she was unable to put Willoughby into real trouble early on. Holly backs away, seems happy to wait even more, but Christine jumps up to her, firing from both flanks, looking to trap her along the ropes, but she was slow in execution and barely grazed the blonde's arms as Holly sidesteps away from danger, throwing a solid hook as she was going backwards, catching the Irish girl in the chest. Christine can't close the blonde down for remainder of the round as Holly's agility and footwork look surprisingly good and both girls inflict little damage with single strikes from mid-range late on.

Round 2:
Single shots at the start of the second, Bleakley finds more success with couple of them going around the blonde's gloves as Holly responds with wild slaps that barely graze the brunette's flesh. Quick leaps from Christine, back and forth she looks for an opening, crashes off the leather far too often to make any real impact. Willoughby still composed, soaking up all the efforts and firing with less frequency, but has that sense of haymaker taking the Irish rival out hanging around her. Bleakley more agile with the upperbody, ducks and weaves, throws more punches to the midsection, but the girls refuse the close the distance and remain separated for most of the round. This has the making of a long final bout of the night. Ref has barely been called into action and the cautious approach from both women finds little applause from the audience. Loud whistles at the bell.

Round 3:
Christine opens the third with low jabbing to the guts, Holly retreats and halts the brunette's follow up with a quick circle, counters with a left hook to the chest and grazes her in the nose with a right cross. Bleakley briefly stunned, avoided a huge reality check and knew little about it. Holly with intensive jabbing to the chest, looks for another cross-hook to the nose, but the Irish girl jumps to the ropes and begins to circle around, reassesing her chances. Willoughby constantly on the move for the first time, fires more single shots to the midsection and has Christine covering every inch of the ring in avoidance. Holly's right/left combo to the head gets blocked though and both women lock in a clinch forcing the ref into some action. Nasty left hook over the ref's head almost cleans out Willoughby as it skims off her hear and she looks upset. She immediately throws another combo to the stomach and Bleakley wobbles back towards the ropes, her own hooking effort goes wayward. Holly tries to trap her along the ropes, but Bleakley sidesteps away from danger and dodges the blonde until the bell.

Round 4:
Both women come forward and unload some heavy shots the the head, but they can't break each other's guard and clinch in the middle of the ring. Christine with low jabs to the ribcage as Holly leans on her and looks to headbutt her in the nose! Ref wants to step in, but Willoughby pushes the Irish girl onto the ropes and sinks her with a huge right on the temple! Bleakley winces in pain; there's another hugh right that lands on top of her head and the brunette looks stunned; Holly keeps pounding her chest and clearly gets on top of that exchange. Ref steps back as Holly whacks the aching brunette with another cross-hook to the nose; this time the gloves are split and a left uppercut catches Christine on the jaw!! DOWN GOES BLEAKLEY in the corner, visibly shaken by that punch! Ref starts the count and Christine gathers herself up at six, but her face begins to swell already; eyes shining with an unnatural effect; holding back a tear or two there? Doesn't matter, ref allows Bleakley to continue, but she's clearly stunned by that forward charge from her blonde foe. Willoughby pours in with more jabs to the head, sways the brunette back and forth, looking to finish her off there and then. Christine bends forward, tries to force a clinch, but gets pummelled all over the corner. Most of Holly's shots catch the forearms and gloves, but a couple of half-uppercuts land on the chest and Willoughby quickly reverts into some vicious jabs to the ribcage as well. Christine sinks on her knees again, cannot force the clinch, leans on the ropes again and just soaks up all the punishment she can! But Holly can't break her guard again and wears herself out in that attack. Single strikes make no further damage and Bleakley hangs on until the bell albeit in very second-handed shape. But Holly looks equally spent, some fitness issues for the blonde already?

Round 5:
Christine receives some extended treatment to her face-bruising during the interval and gets up with difficulty for the fifth but Holly's jugs keep pumping up and down in a worrying sight. She comes forward again, but cannot connect with the brunette's flesh, Christine in full conservation mode, just avoids any action, weaves around the ropes, forces the blonde to chase her down. Holly leaps up a couple of times, but misses her jabbing attempts and a huge swinging hook almost makes her trip over her own feet. Some people in the stands burst into a derisive laughter, but Bleakley's not laughing at all. She keeps eyeing the blonde and bides her time all the way through the round. Willoughy's face is reddened as well, but not because of her rival's punches, she just doesn't look good physically here! Far cry from the fourth round showpiece display; Willoughby barely threatens the brunette in the fifth and the whistles go up in the air again at the bell.

Round 6:
Back and forth nature of this bout continues into the sixth. After a truly funereal pace in the previous one, Bleakley looks to have overcome her crisis and squares up to Holly seconds after the bell, whacks her in the breasts with a fine left hook and follow up with a right to the nose. Holly was slow to react and winces in pain as her head snaps back. Christine charges with a low combo to the stomach, but catches the elbows and get rocked with a rare jab in the mouth! Willoughby exposes her defensive flaws with another jab to the nose and Christine almost loses her footing as she wanted to jump away. Holly leaps after her with a flying combo to the head, but cannot land it clean and both women lock in another clinch, pushing themselves to the ropes. Ref steps in as Holly was firing some low jabs to the stomach and looking to get on top of that struggle. Right hook from Bleakley after the break-up; Holly's head snaps to the side, but she piles in with a jabbing sequnce to the chest and Christine can't evade her again. More clinching along the ropes as the blonde drives her head around her rival's nose again. Right hook on the ribcage, Bleakley moans in pain but the ref comes to the rescue and shoves the blonde away... and there's the bell...

Round 7:
Holly looks much better now, seems to have caught a second breath as Christine's swollen face still indicates she's taken more punches of the two. Indeed she hopes to change that with a flying combo to the head seconds into the seventh, but Holly's guard is bulletproof and she counters with a jabbing sequence to the ribcage, Bleakley gets exposed there as well, despite the tanned skin, her ribs develop that reddish color emerging from underneath the tan. Wild slaps from Christine meet little success, she can't break the blonde's defence and jumps away in despair as Holly grazes in the nose with a big right hook. So many near misses from Holly tonight! That fourth round obviously a stand-out, but the Irish brunette still remains upright. Bleakley with slowish circles in the middle of the ring, looks for a new gameplan as Willoughby just keeps her aware of danger, firing single shots, ducking, weaving and teasing. She looks confident of being ahead on points and Christine's reserved body language indicates she agrees with that and hopes for the Big Kahuna haymaker already.

Round 8:
Bleakley with single punches to the head, finds some diversity with low jabs to the stomach soon, but Holly just covers all those efforts and swings another menacing hook around the Irish woman's nose. Christine ducks and weaves, eyes those wild hooks with respect, but she's willing to take more risks and closes the distance with a solid jabs to the chest. Holly ducks to the right, responds with a solid hook to the ribs before throwing another left to the face. Bleakley covers up, unloads a flurry of low jabs, but can't enforce anything on the blonde. Holly dances around the ropes and lets her opponent wear herself out even further. Both girls pretty slow across the ring now, Holly's fitness leaves a lot to desire, but Christine's taken too much punishment herself to take advantage. Single strikes to the midsection keep the brunette at bay and the misery for the home crowd continues as Bleakley swing a couple of desperate looking hooks which cut the air a good yard off the blonde's head. Holly whacks her in the ribs one more time and jumps away, settles for another unspectacular but effective round. Bleakley's puzzled, shakes her head with disgust as she heads towards the stool, but there's nothing she can do about Willoughby punch & run tactics.

Round 9:
Christine's got nothing to lose, comes forward with single slaps from both flanks, but not even the judges will be impressed; Holly's guard solid as a rock, counters with a stiff jabbing double, Bleakley's gloves split but she jumps away in time. Blonde drops her arms alltogether, teases her rival into an over-the-top attack, but Christine holds her nerve, tries to set something else up, works the left straight; easily tamed by Willoughby. Another wild swing from Holly, Irish girl ducks underneath and whips a right hook to the ribcage; follows up with a left uppercut and the blonde's head snaps back! Jabbing sequence to the breasts and Holly gets backed against the ropes. Bleakley pours in with more jabs to the stomach, throws a hook to the cheek; blonde upset at letting her foe into the last chance saloon whacks a right hook to the ribs and a straight jab to the nose. Christine was lining up another big swing, but just got beaten for pace and gets nailed clean with that last strike! Holly moves away from the ropes; pummels the Irish girl back to center of the ring, another low combo to the ribs and Bleakley's bubble has burst, she bends down, covers up and absorbs more strikes to the midsection. Holly peppers her repeatedly until Christine gets pinned in the corner unable to stop the rout. Low jabs to the stomach inflict further damage and a big left hook to the temple sways the brunette's head to the side. Get ready for the kill? Nope, Holly's single strikes destruction keep the brunette trapped for good, but she can't send her down anymore. Empty tanks on both sides and Holly just leans on her, throwing low jabs to the ribs as Bleakley's midsection is soft as jelly beans as a result of the relentless pounding. Ref doesn't bother to separate them in the corner and both women walk slowly towards their corners before the final round. Christine's holding her ribs in visible pain, she's definitely had enough for tonight...

Round 10:
Nothing left to give for the Irish brunette, instead of a final furious charge, she just leans on the ropes and avoids the blonde's strikes. Willoughby on her limits as well, throws single jabs to the midsection and forces a clinch where she lands more low shots to the ribcage. Christine tries to pull her down; ref separates them but Holly goes for the piledriver! Bleakley on the run, launches herself off the ropes, ducks underneath the arm and throws a weak combo from the side. She almost stumbles as she executed those strikes and moans in pain even without getting laced. Holly's slow to turn around, can't take advantage. Bleakley back in the opposite corner, breaths heavily. Willoughby's after her, slowly moving forward. Wild hook from the brunette goes wayward and Holly lands another sequence to the chest, low uppercuts to the ribcage and Bleakley sinks on her knees. Holly drives forward, pummels the helpless foe along the corner post and repeatedly strikes her in the stomach. Christine slumps allthogether, sobs in agony of pain; blatantly tries to wrap her arm around the blonde's elbow, but gets nailed in the ribs before a vicious uppercut throws her against the corner post again. Late KO in the making? Bleakley's dead on her legs, but somehow forces a clinch as Holly's reserves run out dry as well. Both women worn out to the finish, but even then Willoughby makes the better impression. Ref refuses to step in, lets them see out the bell locked in a stalemate. Gruesome fight comes to an end and Holly wobbles back upon hearing the final bell. She looks utterly finished physically, but waves her arm in delight as she walks back to her corner. Christine slides down on her back along the post. She's done and cannot get up after surviving the longest bout of her BBU career.

There's a lenght delay before the verdict is announced as Bleakley must be helped onto her stool. She's too dazed and battered to get up, so it's only her blonde rival standing by the referee at the announcement...

After ten rounds of boxing we go to the scorecards... Judges score the bout 100-94, 100-93 and 100-94 all for your winner through unanimous decision... HOLLY WILLOUGHBY !!!

Post-fight:
There was little doubt about the final outcome, Holly Willoughby dominated the internal TV presenters battle and conquered Christine Bleakley after an extremely gruesome contest. She heads towards the Lioness corner and offers the defeated brunette a consolation hug which Christine accepts after a brief moment of hesitance. Holly keeps her calm, she knows best how hard-earned this victory was and a worrying fitness issues must be addressed by the Girls Friday trainers before her next fight. Obviously her debut against Kelly Rowland proved to be a mis-match, but she really should have finished Bleakley off tonight. Nonetherless the fourth round display which paved her way onto the final success was mighty impressive, however she needs to repeat those kind of performances on a regular basis if she wants to become a real threat among the BBU lightweights.

On the other hand it was a truly disappointing performance by Christine Bleakley. She couldn't follow up on her victory over Rachael Taylor and allowed Willoughby to dominate tonight's fight. One suspects that fourth round completely shattered both her gameplan and confidence which she couldn't regain for remainder of the bout. Christine can't build a winning streak and has to accept her second loss to a fellow TV presenter, something that must hurt her pride more then any of the other defeats she experienced so far in her BBU career.
