BEFORE: Nikki feeling pressure to perform: she's pushy with AJ, belligerent - officials forced to break up frequent scuffles during prefight publicity events. "I'm built to take apart plodding blonde girls," Nicole insists at podium. "Look at this cow: slow; dumb; she's a Minka-level bantam and that's not good enough. Gonna beat me some AJ Cook ass, fellahs: this girl's getting WORKED!" AJ cool under fire, rising to Nikki's podium challenge. "Nicole destroyed Jessica Alba, and that WAS a great achievement," AJ allows, "but that's it for Nicole - that's all she's done. And let's not miss this point: I'm nothing like Jessica Alba in the ring. I don't run and flirt and try to look cute while punching: I beat hell out of girls, pure and simple. I take girls into the ropes and break their hearts. Nikki might think her legs are the answer, but I say they're not. I'm taking Nikki's legs away from her, and making this fight one of the most miserable experiences of her life!" Nicole in black bikini; high slick ponytail; white gloves. AJ in pea green cotton yoga top with thin straps; pale blue sport-bikini bottoms; white gloves; hair in ponytail with bangs bracketing face.

During R1: Scherzinger lithe, limber about the ring - showing wide stance when she sets down, right hand stacked atop left at her body. AJ more conventional - crouching/stepping her way forward; dukes at temples as she patiently walks Nikki down. Scherzinger flashing slick, slicing lead rights/batting left hooks - pivoting around her punches: AJ blocking and bobbing, stubby jabbing her way in/placing heavy right hands in brunette ribs. Brisk negotiation through 2 minutes: AJ eventually able to crowd Nikki to ropes, beat her body and arms as Scherzy covers up...blonde girl working hard for points through 1.

R2: Same again - Nicole lithe, working out of the wide stance with those swift, slicing rights and batting, limber lefts - doing a serviceable Adrien Broner imitation. Cook encroaching, trying to find Nikki: Scherzinger with little shoulder rolls and step-outs, making AJ miss, then lighting her up with slickness. Midway through: NIKKI GOES DOWN! Cook hooking hard as she rises from crouch, catching Nikki flush to chin, sending her scooting to backside. Scherzinger up quickly but spooked - eyes blinking rapidly during 8. From there it's all Cook: Nikki on her bicycle as blonde girl gives chase - AJ simply hounding Nicole to ropes, pummeling her rib cage until Scherzinger clinches.

R3: Nicole flashy, dangerous, but punching only in spots...she's safety-first here, trying to keep her back clear of ropes. AJ compact, bobbing on approach, stubby-jabbing, then banging those ribs all blue-collar blonde: workmanlike pressure chasing Nikki out of her stance, making her run. Bell: confident glow on Cook's face en route to corner; Nicole stoic, looking intense...some might say "tight".

R4: Better, more combative stuff from Nikki. She's staying in the pocket longer, timing AJ for those quick, slashing strikes. Nikki in wide stance, feinting with her head and shoulders, then bringing that lead slap-chop right, or leading with wide, batting hooks. Cook pasted about her mouth and chin as Nikki dials in...blonde girl taking a good shot; her eyes taking on a staring aspect as Nicole refreshes the ol' highlight reel through 4.

R5: Back to business for AJ. She bobs on approach; stubs out her jab in Nikki's tits; carries the right hand deep to ribs or tummy, then she's on Nicole, bundling her to ropes. Cook atop Nikki at apron, working: blonde head and shoulders acting to bump Nicole into compliance; constant bashing work administered to both flanks/arms; digging hup-hup addressed to Scherzinger's world-class gut. Nikki fretful - pressed into ropes/bobbing and rolling on the spot/turning either shoulder into AJ, giving her angles. Good slick pocket defence keeps Nikki from getting seriously hurt, but AJ puts mileage on brunette ferrari with a solid bell to bell thumping. Cook sunny en route to her corner - so pretty when she smiles: Nicole scowling in her corner, looking ass kicked and sullen.

R6: Trading midring as Nikki looks to renegotiate: DOWN GOES SCHERZINGER! Cook deceptively cute out of the bob - straightening up to hook Nikki's chin...Scherzy's legs just can't take it. Nicole bounced off her buns, up quick again, but long dark lashes blinking away tears as panic flutters in her breast. After 8, Nicole scampers, giving blonde girl free-rein: Cook hounding her foe - frequently breaking into a little jog to chase Scherzinger down. Nikki tying up whenever AJ bulls her into ropes...ref issuing breaks, allowing Nicole to escape, but she's basically forfeiting the round to aggressive AJ.

R7: AJ atop Nikki, beating her. Scherzinger sullen in the ropes, grimacing...she's still supple and alert, bending and rolling to convert Cook triples into singles, but AJ's banking singles by the boatload. Cook just bullying her doe here - left shoulder propping and jostling; head rough under Nikki's chin; fists bouncing thump-thump off gut, or bashing the flanks. Tough for AJ to locate Nicole's elusive chin, but the odd uppercut or clubbing blow up top keeps Scherzinger rolling and defensive. Hard working blonde points bell to bell as Cook works body until ref pulls her off. AJ bright-eyed on her stool, animated, telling her trainer at one point: "She's so wriggly!"

R8: Midring, Nicole rolls-right with a clubbing AJ right; comes back via the bolo right uppercut and PICKS COOK UP ONTO HER TOES! Glorious roll-counter lick to chin - AJ up, then almost dropped to all fours...she staggers out of the shot, keeps her feet, but girl-B-HURT! Nikki: hard-eyed; slicing the lead right to punch-apart AJ's guard; wide, batting Roy-Jones hook clouts AJ's face, driving her to ropes. Nikki: stepping-to, going to town. AJ lolling ropeside, hands at temples...Nikki weight forward, pushing on blonde with left hand, then chopping the right; bracing with right hand and batting the wide left. Supple, succulent finishing shots from Nikki here...AJ battered, rolling and blocking best she can, but crowd screaming whenever her head fields clean brunette leather. Just a brutal gut check for Cook - she's hurt; her legs and spirit vs Nicole's limber savagery. Scherzinger able to lavish her blonde with punishment, but can't get her to go: bell sounds to the sight of Nikki HEAVING for breath, hands on hips as she steps away from reeling Cook!

R9: AJ's damaged goods...eyes blinking, lips parted...she's not all the way back. Scherzinger on the attack - slap-chopping in the lead right, then bringing the wide, batting hook from hip level. AJ bobbing, hands at temples...her instinct is to close, but she's too hurt to get off - Nikki's battering her as Cook wanders into range. Scherzinger deploys to body at long last - that wide, batting hook taking AJ thick behind right elbow: blonde girl sobbing in pain, legs once again absorbing without giving out. Nikki working her rights and lefts - pushing off after scoring, pivoting to fresh angles...she has her way bell to bell, punishing AJ, but not breaking her through 9. Trainer tells Scherzinger during the break: "Finish her, baby. I need her on her back. Can't go to the cards, Nikki."

R10: Nikki on AJ, applying finishing savagery. Cook at ropes, trying to keep her hands up, bobbing and rolling. Nicole squared up strong, punching off either foot as she deploys those springy, snappy licks, pushing and punching. Many times a left uppercut will stun AJ, tilting her limp into ropes - the follow on right/lefts to skull batting blonde head around, loosening up the knees. AJ sponges it up, bends at the waist, toughs it out. When AJ's stooping forward, arms crossed, Nicole is merciless to the body, batting that wide left hook in behind right elbow, searching for the quit. At one point, Nikki's left hand pushes AJ's forehead back, prepping for a slashing right...Scherzinger glances over at ref as if to say "what do I have to do? Stop this!" He doesn't; Nicole feeds staring AJ the right hand. Bell: sturdy blonde girl still somehow on her feet...exhausted Nicole shoves up off smouldering Cook, gives a withering glance to the official as this thing goes to cards. Comes back UD10 AJ Cook.

After: Nicole staring at canvas as Cook's arm is raised - heartbreaking moment for a sleek brunette who finished strong, but just couldn't dig out from under the avalanche of points Cook had built up. "So sweet," a puffy, scuffed up, but jubilant AJ grins in postfight. "She was so bytchy and mean to me in prefight, you know? I really wanted to get this done tonight. Let me tell you, when you're a fighter in this league? There is no sweeter sight on earth than Nicole Scherzinger sitting on the canvas looking all demoralized and confused. I give her credit for not quitting - had her on the ropes, was bringing the pain, but she's like punching an eel underwater - very tough to touch clean. Knew I could out-work her though, that was the key. Long as I kept coming forward, kept touching her, I knew she'd fade."
