BEFORE: Friendship momentarily on hold as intense rivalry once again comes into focus. "Outside of the ring, Mary and I ARE friends," Yvonne insists, "but I'm the better fighter. Look - early in my career - I will admit I struggled with Mary. She was awkward, and strong, and I didn't handle it well, but that was a long time ago. Now, I'm a fighter who has claimed championships; I'm a top 10 pound for pound girl; I've been named a Great Blonde by BLONDE! Magazine...Mary can't match those credentials. She's heading into beating, that's all I can say. The second I stop her, I'll hug her...but until then, she's going to suffer." Mary visibly rigid as Yvonne recounts her accomplishments, but retaining sense of humour at podium. "Wow, when 'Vonnie lays it all out like that, I wonder why I'd even show up for this fight!" Mary grins. "And then I remember: oh yeah - Great Blondes get chopped down all the time - usually by hard working brunettes! Honestly, I know how accomplished Yvonne is, but if she doesn't think I can win, she hasn't learned anything from our previous encounters. I'm going to bring it: I've got a head-to-head rivalry to take care of; I'm on a card with Laura and I want to prove to her and to management that I'm the heir apparent to Garner...I've got a lot on the line and I'm not laying down for Theron-lite here!" Mary in bright yellow bikini; white gloves; long brown hair loose with bangs. Yvonne in gunmetal blue bikini; white gloves; hair in shoulder length choppy tousle.

During R1: Vonnie fitting Mary for slick-sliding one-twos up the middle, scoring off Winstead's face: Mary takes well, bangs her way forward via clubbing right/lefts. Two minutes of negotiations winds up with Yvonne digging in at apron, getting compressed by brawling Mary. Winnie on top, bashing away both hands head-and-shoulders on Straho; bodying up to stack; pushing off to beat the waist swinging right/lefts at bell.

R2: Mary hitting Yvonne HARD in the body - blonde girl visibly stiffening as Mary sets feet and POUNDS that right hand in atop Vonnie's left hip. Strahovski's legs freezing up...she stands her ground, slicing in slick right hands/left uppercuts...Meanwhile Mary's leaning forward, letting both hands go. Midway through, Vonnie trades her left uppercut for Mary's biting left hook and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Nice little clipper buzzes Vonnie - her legs slow-bending to put her on all fours. Blinking 8, Strahovski: Mary quickly atop her at ropes, HACKING home that thick right hand to flank; hooking belly; pawing jabs to reset and keep Vonnie pinned down.

R3: Great Blonde continues to feel pressure - her right (back) foot under bottom rope as she fights one step off the ropes. Mary aggressively hacking and batting away...Winstead bobbing; jabbing Vonnie's chest; HAMMERING that right hand low to the right side, then quickly trying to hook-chin on follow up. Strahovski grimacing, stiff-legged, but working: HER jab's finding Mary's mouth; slick right hands continue to past left side of Mary's face; nasty left hook off the back (right) plant leg pasting Mary's jugs to good effect.

R4: Mary aggressively at Vonnie again, pressuring her along ropes as blonde girl slides to her right. Midway through, Vonnie walks Mary onto the right uppercut off the right (back) plant leg...Winstead sputters out of orbit, spilling to her left and DOWN SHE GOES! Mary SO disappointed on all fours, pounding right hand on canvas before getting up all wobbly-butt. Vonnie all pitiless blue eyes - she lopes in after Mary's 8, starts drifting her the lead right hand/kissing her the come back curling hook. POOR MARY! Winstead strafed, rocked back into ropes...Mary desperately trying to keep her earmuff guard up, but OH the pasting she's taking. Sinuous long blonde twisting on her hips, getting buns and legs into the act...Straho beats Mary to the cusp of submission as bell sounds/ref jumps in.

R5: CLAMBAKE! Right uppercut Yvonne from close-in; sliding left hook in tight. Left hook to belly receipt from Mary; follow up stubby left hook to tits; CHOPPING right palm-up atop blonde left hip. Yvonne: teeth bared; eyes blazing. Mary: tight lipped, brown eyes FURIOUS as she refuses to give ground. Girls taking turns slamming away - Mary just BUSTING Yvonne to the body; Strahovski smiting away on chin/face. Down the stretch, Mary's will prevails...it's Vonnie backing into ropes, forced to cover up earmuff: Winstead stooping forward, BELTING away free-swinging right/lefts to waist at bell. Yvonne mouthbreathing, eyes glassy...she blurts in pain on her stool when trainer probes her ribs!

R6: Puffy-faced, busted up Mary grimly determined...she wades into Vonnie via overhand rights/clubbing lefts - brawling classy blonde girl into ropes. Mary fighting off blonde chest - her hands pushing at Vonnie's inner elbows or hips, then slopping on thick right/left bombardments. OH THE ATTRITION! Yvonne mouthbreathing - gorgeous long blonde getting bullied, pushed and stacked, then battered...she's limp-limbed - pushing at Mary, sometimes covering up, shuddering under the wallop. Winstead able to sustain a FEROCIOUS pounding of her rival...classy Yvonne glassy-eyed, greatly reduced by the relentless onslaught.

R7: Mary wades into Yvonne, crowd her to ropes, lays siege. Vonnie grimacing, trying to keep the left shoulder in Mary's chest - Winnie fighting off that shoulder such that her hook naturally bites at belly or jug, while right hands SLAM into back/hip. Vonnie stiffening, lips parting...Mary's just PITCHING in those right hands to body, paralyzing her blonde. Right/left bounces off back/waist, crippling Yvonne; left hook doubles into chin, kicking back blonde head and BUCKLING THE KNEES! Vonnie hurt - right hand reaching onto top rope for support: SHE TAKES ANOTHER FLUSH HOOK! Mary jumping into the shot, really blasting back Vonnie's head and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Strahovki spilling to her back in her own corner, sputtering and twitching, trying to sit up BUT IT'S NO GO! KO7 Mary Winstead in ferocious fashion.

After: Yvonne in shock - finally sitting up as Mary's bellowing in triumph...Winstead declaring her supremacy with raw, unedited emotion, letting Vonnie know who's definitely better right at that moment. "SO thrilled!" Mary chirps in postfight - pretty face all scuffed up, but jubilant. "I answered a serious rival tonight, and boy did I answer! Knocking Vonnie out is a huge boost for me emotionally and professionally. I know in my heart that Laura Vandervoort could never beat Yvonne, and that's my take away from this fight. Laura needs to accept that I'm first in line behind Jennifer, and if not...then we need to sort that out PDQ!"
