BBU WELTERWEIGHT TITLE

The Spring PPV concludes with the welterweight title bout and it's more exposure for ACB as Wildetime Boxing's own Erika Heynatz makes her first defence against the former champion Kelli Young of Beever's Babes. Both women crossed the path of BBU's most decorated fighter, Sabrina Washington and for Young it marked the end of her reign while for Heynatz it was a start of an international career after several years among the elite of firstly AWUBA and then ACB federations

Kelli Young can become the first fighter in BBU history to regain the title having held it before from May to July 2011. But Heynatz, ranked #2 in ACB, only behind the living legend of Australian celebrity boxing, Elle MacPherson, has the prospects of facing fellow Wildetime compatriot, Ricki-Lee Coulter in case of winning tonight's bout and as she explains to Denise van Outen, she doesn't want to blow such an opportunity to continue her BBU reign: "I know Ricki-Lee like the back of my hand. I've guided her through AWUBA as a youngster and she developed into a top-class fighter in ACB. I taught her everything she knows and I don't think she's found another mentor rather than me. Elle and I are not the best of friends and Ricki never betrayed Wildetime Boxing and has no personal contact with her. Elle is the only one who can come up with some tricks helping Ricki to get over me, but that's not happening. Ricki must wait for her turn as I'm not ready to give up something I've worked so hard for in the past months."

Erika Heynatz wearing a light blue bikini top, black mini-skirt and golden gloves. Kelli Young wearing a Union Jack-schemed bikini top, white mini-skirt and red gloves.

Round 1:
Both women circle around the ring, teasing each other with some fake jabs, but the mutual respect between them is visible as neither looks to ignite some pace in the early stages of this bout. Kelli leaps more lively for most of the round, looking more likely to drop the cautious approach as Erika just seizes her from behind her golden gloves (AWUBA champions' special edition per Denise van Outen) and looks as cool as possible given the circumstances. Kelli laces her in the ribcage late in the going, but backs away when Erika whacks her with a strong hook to the chest. Kelli drops her arms and retreats as Erika throws more fake shots, forcing the former champion into more weaving along the ropes.

Round 2:
Heynatz comes forward, throws a left hook to the face and Young wasn't ready for that one, her head snaps back and Erika's after her immediately, jabbing to the midsection, catching her in the jaw with a solid uppercut. Kelli on the back foot, gets pushed to the ropes as the blonde opens up from both wings, catches the stunned English girl with a big left hook to the ribs, follows up with a right hook to the mouth. Kelli winces in pain, covers up, but Erika still finds a way through below her elbow, whacks her repeatedly in close distance, sinks on the ropes evern further and signs off with a cross-hook to the mouth again. Kelli barely able to respond, gets rocked to the side, almost falls over her feet as she desperately tries to jump away to safety. Erika laces her in the face with more jabs before Kelli finally ducks under her arm and manages to clinch. Blonde keeps her focus, allows the ref to do his job, but prevents her rival from escaping trouble again, has her trapped along the ropes for remainded of the round and lands more shots to the arms and body as Young just covers her face and hopes to hang on until the bell which she does, but only just.

Round 3:
Erika wastes little time, seeking to inflict more damage, but Kelli block her early jabbing combo to the face and responds with a sky hook to the cheek. Erika gets nailed with that one and allows Kelli to work on her stomach soon afterwards. The former champion is far from being done here and she pummels the stunned blonde to the ropes herself, whacks her between the golden mitts and freezes her briefly as Erika's head snaps back and sends her sinking in the corner. Young on the move! She peppers the champ in the guts, looks to split those golden mitts again, but fails to do it and just leans on the Aussie, repeatedly throwing vicious jabs to the midsection. It's time for Heynatz to seek a clinch and she wraps her arms around Kelli's neck, catches more jabs on the chest but forces the ref to shove the English girl away. Slow response from Kelli as she waits a fraction too long to pounce again and Erika leaps to safety, avoids closing the distance for remainder of the round and Young does likewise.

Round 4:
Boosted by the previous round, Kelli continues her menacing approach, jabs at the blonde's flesh with high-intensity, but can't inflict any serious damage. Erika's very careful now, just single-strikes to the body herself, looks to block her rival's efforts and slow the pace down a bit. Kelli doesn't rush it either, seemingly prepared for a long and exhausting contest. Both women have scored a good round each and therefore gained more respect, the fight hits a dire period, it's nothing like a flyweight punch & run brawl but most of the observers expected this kind of scenario. Too much respect from both sides and the round concludes with hardly any noteworthy action.

Round 5:
Crowd starts to yell at the fighters, demanding more action but Erika has none of it, she continues to circle around Kelli who's the one making the move early in the fifth. Former champ squares up to the Aussie and opens with a big left hook, bad idea, she could have e-mailed that hook to Australia as Heynatz whips her in the jaw with a right hook herself. Young stunned, loses her footwork, Erika piles on with a left hook to the jaw and a right to the guts. DOWN GOES YOUNG flat on her back!!! Crowd equally stunned as the Beever's Babes' corner. Kelli just too slow in setting up her charge, gets countered with all the AWUBA and ACB experience behind Erika's blows. Ref starts the count and the former champion gets up at seven, still visibly shaken by that series. Heynatz just doesn't let her off the hook though, pounds her in the ribcage, almost pushes her gloves in the face with a huge left hook and cracks a low jab from the right just inches away from the crotch. That looked like a rabbit shot, but ref fails to notice it, more concerned about Kelli's face who soon eats more leather. Erika's like a woman possessed now, switching from a lazy turtle into a prancing kangaroo as she smacks the cumbersome ex-champ in the face with ferocious intensity. Kelli's head rocked back & forth, she just can't offer any resistance now, sinks on her knees and gets thrown onto the corner post with a vicious blow to the breasts. Heynatz goes for the kill... Young just covers up, hopes to hang on until the bell, but Erika whacks her in the stomach and Kelli almost screams out her surrender., more jabs to the ribs, uppercut in between, golden gloves working like nuts... Left/right hooks to the head and Young drops her arms, in all sorts of bother now, Right hook on the temple... Kelli's knees give way and SHE SLIDES down on her backside, just gasping for air and looking utterly spent... Ref starts the count as Young looks to gather herself up, she wraps both her arms around the ropes and launches herself upright at eight, but winces in pain, her eyes are closed and she's unresponsive to the commands... Ref waves it off much to everyone's shock... TKO R5 and STILL the welterweight champion... Erika Heynatz!!!!

Post-fight:
Erika flexes her muscles and plants her arms on the hips as the journalists pour in ringside to take their best shot. Another moment of glory for the 36-year old Aussie who just trounced the former champion Kelli Young into oblivion with an incredible fifth round charge. Denise van Outen makes her way to the ring and is the first one to talk with the reigning welter queen: "I knew Kelli was tough to crack, she basically made one mistake and I punished her for that. With all due respect, but I've had more AWUBA bouts in the last year than she's had BBU fights in her entire life. She perhaps underestimated my strenght, some people over here still think that my win over Sabrina Washington was a fluke, but tell you what, now they need to take me more seriously. Young was the second best welter in Britain and look at her now. She's toasted in her corner and I'm still the champ. Not bad, eh?"

Meanwhile Kelli Young was unavailable for comment as she complained about headache and double vision immediately after the fight and had to taken to hospital for further evaluation. The brutal nature of Heynatz's attack in the fifth round left most observers stunned, the Aussie blonde was obviously sandbagging for most of the bout and countered the overconfident opponent at the best moment possible. Young's left hook might have surprised Sophie Ellis-Bextor of all people, but not the reigning welterweight champion. Erika found a hole in her armour and sank Kelli in an iceberg vs Titanic-like fashion.

Final result: Erika Heynatz def. Kelli Young TKO5.
