BEFORE: "Nobody thought I'd beat Charisma Carpenter either," Heigl shrugs in prefight. "Didn't just beat that bytch: effectively ended her career with my sledgehammers. Anybody who knows boxing knows Amanda's lost a step. She's been taking terrible beatings this year, and I'm gonna keep pushing her down that hill. Welterweight might be a two woman race, but it's ME and Regan...Amanda's going to be fist-fodder for both of us!" Righetti focussed, serious in prefight - she knows she's being challenged. "My team knows how big this fight is," Amanda acknowledges at podium. "I need a strong performance against a big puncher - something to keep the wolves at bay, and Katherine's perfect for my needs. Tractorpull's wrong about this division...there are fewer and fewer easy fights available - especially for me. If I don't execute, Kathy will hurt me - it's as simple as that." Heigl in grey cotton stretch bra; hot-pink and grey horizontally barred cotton bikini bottoms; white gloves; loose blonde curls. Amanda in mauve cotton stretch bra; mauve and dark purple horizontally barred bikini bottoms; black gloves; loose red curls.

During R1: Counterclockwise steppin' - girls in wide stances, hunting for each other via probing left jabs. Then: Righetti leans in via HARD right cross; cutting palm-up left hook across paunch; chopping right to hip/waist...Kathy cringing under body assault, face pained as she covers up. Extra left hook for blonde paunch - another drifting right cross up top...Heigl's curvy thighs trembling under the assault. Middle minute, Amanda walking Kathy down, looking for body with both hands...Heigl pings out the left jab once, twice and RIGHT UPPERCUT KATHERINE HEIGL! Ripping blast off the back (right) plant-leg picks Amanda up to chin and DOWN GOES RIGHETTI! Rigs sputtering to all fours - mouth open/eyes wide in shock...Heigl bellowing down as she's bodied away. Amanda beats the count, blinking woozy...she covers up earmuff at apron as blonde-girl wades in. Kathy thick-and-vicious about Amanda's midsection - slamming away right/left...Righetti cringing on the spot as blonde girl pushes off to reset. All Kathy H to bell - sloppin' harm to the body; pushing Amanda into ropes; clubbing her righty-on-the-ear. Big bad blonde clean up as Heigl imposes will in the first!

R2: Heigl stepping in with tree-trunk jab, looking to apply finishing touches. Righetti fresh-legged, well-recovered - stepping to her right; leaning in righty-up-top, then cutting Kathy palm-up left hooks across paunch. Heigl bogging down, starting to cringe...as her output drops, Righetti starts to deploy chopping right hand to waist as well, hacking in above blonde left hip. Down the stretch, Heigl inching forward with dukes at temples, mouth wide open...OH how Amanda's slammin' that body! Righetti baring teeth, ripping away big healthy right/lefts - gloves spanking off Katherine's thick midriff like baseball bats hitting wet clay. Bell: Katherine trembling, eyes shiny, walking gingerly back to her corner; Righetti FUMING, eyes blazing on the stomp-back to hers.

R3: Midring: heartfelt two way slugging. Amanda driving in via the long right cross up top, then ripping at Katherine's midsection left/right. Heigl cringing under the body-touches, but answering back stout...she's finding Amanda with the right uppercut in under left breast; left hook strong to jaw.

R4: Amanda jabbing Kathy's presented left shoulder, driving her to apron...Heigl waiting on the Righetti right hand, rolling-with, answering back the muscular right uppercut to chin! AMANDA'S HURT! Righetti's eyes all "how-could-you"..she swoons forward into Heigl: blonde girl reaches in under redhead arms; swing-turns Amanda into ropes and stacks her up. SHOVING RIGHT HANDS TO BELLY, KATHY HEIGL! Heigl pushing into Amanda while packing her gut full of leather...rambunctious slugging has redhead sitting in ropes, shellshocked. Kathy pushing Amanda upright, then applying wallop: blonde shelling away to redhead shoulders as Amanda slouches forward in earmuff, then it's Kathy leaning forward, left hand on Amanda's right shoulder while right hand PLOWS in thick to paunch. AMANDA TAKES A KNEE! Righetti blinking away tears, going to right knee at ropes, pushing her hands on Heigl's thighs to move blonde bully away. Heigl lifting her hands high and bellowing down - ref pushes her away as Amanda gets herself together. Rigs beats the count swaying...she covers up butt-in-ropes, digs in as Kathy steps-to and beats the arms/lats/belly of her foe to bell. Heigl pumped, strutting to corner hands-high...Amanda limping into port, cringing as trainer explores her ribs.

R5: Jab/right cross sequences for Amanda - she gets off, steps counter-clockwise, keeping Kathy at arm's length. Heigl turning-with, stalking, but not punching...just-enough movement from Amanda and stiff one-twos keeping blonde girl covered up. Heigl not hurt, but well-contained...Righetti just getting herself together, balancing weight on front (left) leg; right (back) heel up off canvas as her form recovers.

R6: Pressure from Kathy early as she tries to force-feed Amanda right hands...Righetti circling to her right away from the blows, minimizing the effect. Second minute - Righetti's jab takes over, forcing Katherine into earmuff-front. Righetti leaning in to POUND that straight right hand off gut, then hooking-jug. Katherine wading forward, but hurting: Amanda's getting off strong - gloves spanking off meat. Down the stretch, drifting right cross up top penetrates guard; chopping short hook clobbers jug; chopping right smites jug; jerking left uppercut picks up chin and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Heigl to all fours, blubbering in shock...Righetti glaring down all chest heaving/eyes blazing.

R7,8: Long, punishing minutes for Katherine Heigl as Righetti shift-pivots counter-clockwise, working off the jab to drive righty-up-top, then punish the paunch left/right. Kathy's big body cringing and bunching up when smote...curvy blonde legs taking the punches well, but Heigl never able to get into position to issue payback. Patient, methodical stuff from Amanda - she's extending on punches - occasionally palming Katherine's shoulders to turn her and push her...it's redhead tenderizing a blonde through 8.

R9: Heigl pawing her jab to get in range, then pouring in the right hands...clubbing wallops usually blocked or smothered by Righetti, but the sloppy-slugging leads to Katherine bodying up and walking Amanda to ropes for breaks. Righetti circling to her right, trying to catch Kathy righty-on-the-chin as blonde girl's tumbling forward...leads to stop-and-go slug-and-clutch as girls fall into sweaty embraces.

R10: Heigl in oxygen-debt, mouth wide open as she rises from her stool...she's an exhausted beauty, setting up at ropes near her corner and inviting Righetti on in. Amanda happy to oblige, thump-jabbing Heigl's mighty rack; slamming right hand wide to waist as Kathy's stooping forward behind mitts; cleaning up panch via that cut-across palm-up left hook. Heigl groaning butt-in-ropes, taking punches, then wearily pushing Amanda away...redhead able to wade back in, get work done to reduce blonde in the pocket. Numbing attack from Amanda beats body/lats/arms...Heigl drooping, wilting off the ropes, but answering back just enough to keep ref from jumping in. Bell: smoldering glare from Amanda as she pushes off punished blonde girl...comes back UD10 Righetti.

AFter: Amanda surviving dicey first half, coming off the deck twice to eventually outwork her foe for the duke. "Girl hits a ton," Amanda acknowledges in postfight. "She's tough, strong...girl made me work for it. We knew that Kathy's conditioning typically isn't the greatest, so I wanted to work that paunch, get into her legs a bit, and that really paid dividends late. She was out of gas after I put her down...once I saw the fatigue in her eyes, I knew I had her!"
