These two girls are just longing to get at one another, and it shows as they stand in their corners, glaring at each other. Rihanna is dressed in a pink bikini tonight, with Jessie in a black basque top and microskirt.

Round 1

The two big girls start with hard punches, and in the first minute it’s pretty much going for Rihanna, the gorgeous West Indian ripping shots into Jessie’s mouth with apparent ease, but she begins to slow down, picks her punches more, and starts to outbox the Brit rather than just outslug her, showing off maybe a little as she establishes superiority. Jessie is getting a little restless, and she ups her game in the late stages of the round, catches Rihanna around the ribs with a few choice blows, and ends the round by sticking RiRi in a corner and lamping her with good punches.

Round 2

Jessie continues in the second where she left off in the first, landing to RiRi’s body, sends her to the ropes early, and lets Rihanna have a right hook to the jaw and she goes down - first minute of the second and Rihanna’s taking a 7 count. Riri gets up and shakes herself down, but she’s suffering now as Jessie piles forwards, throwing lots of leather, and landing enough of it to keep Rihanna off. In a mirror image of the opening round, it’s RiRi who eventually comes out strong in the last minute or so, and she rocks Jessie with two hard, straight punches to the face, and staggers her with a wiping left hook, but she can’t quite score the equalizing knockdown.

Round 3

Riri’s looking a little more defensive now, drawing the Brit in, then countering neatly, forcing Jessie to chase in the opening exchanges of the round, and she makes the Brit look second best Now Jessie finds her target, and she traps Rihanna on the ropes with some neat shots to that slim body, but Rihanna answers back well. Jessie’s allowed herself to get suckered a little here, and she takes a big combination as RiRi counters, but she takes her medicine, and there’s a nice exchange of punches, but Riri is working hard and gets her reward with a handful of seconds to go in the round, stuffing a left straight into Jessie’s mouth, giving her a solid right to the ribs, she then gets her with the left to the mouth again, and Jessie hits the canvas. She’s up quickly at 4, but she’s swaying in the breeze as the bell ends the third - round to Rihanna.

Round 4

It seems to be a case of ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ for Rihanna, as she comes off her stool with the same strategy, almost running away from Jessie in the first minute, again drawing the Brit into her and then she just starts pouring leather on her rival. Jessie’s knees look like they’re elasticated, and the West Indian turns her, flays her from left to right with heavy hooks, and Jessie’s down again in the second minute of the round, this time for longer – the ref’s count reaches 8, and she wipes blood from her nose and retaliates strongly. This is good stuff from Jessie, who’s been out-thought and out-boxed so far, but she keeps Rihanna busy with a strong last minute, making the more experienced girl defend and clinch to keep her at bay.

Round 5

Jessie comes out strong again now, and she’s starting to push Rihanna around more, controlling her pretty well, and starting to get through with enough shots to keep her honest. But Rihanna’s showing some good defence here, and she withstands everything Jessie seems to have thrown at her in the first two minutes. The problem for the Brit is that Rihanna gets the initiative back as the round winds down, and she hurts the slowing Jessie with a hard left, right combination, almost sits her down with an uppercut, and lands plenty of shots to level up the round.

Round 6

Rihanna’s on her bike again as the girls get back into the middle, but this time Jessie isn’t chasing her too hard – in face she’s not chasing her at all, and maybe she’s running out of gas. Rihanna flicks a few jabs at Jessie’s face, the British girl leaning in and pushing her opponent back, but this is a quiet round, with neither fighter seeming to be willing to push here, maybe resigned to this going the distance after all.

Round 7

To the cheers of the fans, the girls seem a little fresher after that previous dull round, but they don’t land much again for the opening half of this round, although Rihanna is starting to score with those accurate jabs of hers, and Jessie’s starting to lump up a little round the cheeks, and she needs to get busy to stay in this. Now they go at each other – it’s the third minute of the round, but the girls stand toe to toe and swap punches, and now Rihanna starts to look a little worn as Jessie’s bombs land around her ribs, establishes herself nicely in front of RiRi, but then the West Indian just drills punches into her face, two big lefts then a right, and she gets enough of the action here to secure a third straight even round!

Round 8

It seems that the last minute has left more marks on Jessie, and the girl looks a little dazed and bemused as a rampant Rihanna shows herself able to dominate the Brit, picking her off, and spraying her snot and blood around the ring. As the clock ticks on RiRi’s pushing Jessie to the ropes and working at her body there, and this is really weakening the big Brit, who hasn’t had an opponent like this before. Jessie eventually manages to get off the ropes, and away from Rihanna’s assault, but she’s clearly in trouble. Late in the round RiRi gives Jessie’s face some heavy right hand leather, and she’s got her girl beginning to wilt at last, maybe.

Round 9

Now it seems that Rihanna can sense a win coming, and she comes off her stool looking fresh and keen, bouncing and bobbing like a flyweight almost and she’s working again at Jessie’s body, the well built Londoner visibly crumbling as those shots land and hurt. Despite looking well in control, Rihanna’s not changing her tactics, and she’s keeping Jessie just set on the ropes, piling on the punishment, bringing her guard down, and there she goes – RiRi bangs in a left jab to the mouth, then a right to the ear, another right, another left in the mouth, and this time when Jessie goes down, she goes down for good.

Rihanna knocked out Jessie J in round 9.

Well tonight Rihanna exposed Jessie completely, and the Londoner must realize she has to make a huge improvement if she is to be a contender.
