Before: Bell in a tough spot--heartbreaking defeats, inactivity have wormed away her marketability--meanwhile athletic young brunettes have risen to prominence at lightweight and above--she needs riskier fights to get back into prominence. Enter Hurley--Liz in a similar position--brunettes eyeing each other , weighing weakness, each calculating how much the other has slipped, each figuring now is the time to pounce--they can’t both be right. Hurley craftier, Bell more durable, neither can afford to lose--that’s matching. Liz in dark chocolate bikini, Bell in electric blue.

During R1: First 2 minutes a lesson in southpaw smooth--Hurly repeatedly victimizing Cat, stepping to the right, pushing that left hand in on hr insider plane of Bell’s jaw, catching her awkwardly, keeping her off balance. Hurley painting Cat until the last minute--when a single slapshot left hook off the jaw sends a jolt down Hurley’s trim legs, Liz desperately hurt--Cat piling on with straight arm lefts and rights to the carved sides of her foe, beating Hurley to the ropes and leaving her trembling at the bell, Bell stealing a Hurley round with the fists of stone routine.

R2: Cats got Liz hurt, Hurley forced to slug, but she’s finding ways to get it done. Liza all supple and loose, dragging her fists back and forth against Bell’s face and breasts--bending side to side, giving Bell sheer angles inside. Nothing punches setting up sudden, whipping shots out wide to the jaw and midway through, Cat stops punching as Hurley‘s right hook clangs jaw with sudden force--Bell starts to break up, back away as Liz slings wide lefts and rights in pursuit. All Hurley to the bell, dragging her punches into Cat, bending down to the side to make Bell miss in response.

R3: Cat attempting, pounding that de la Hoya jab from a high guard to the forehead of Hurley, stepping left and drilling straight right hands down the pike and LIZ IS HURT! Tough cross on the teeth jerks Liz sideways and sends her reeling--Bell chasing Hurley to the ropes with withering cracks to her sides and looking for the finish. Liz absolutely brilliant on defense, turning her shoulders, bending at the waist, slipping everything bell throws and midway through, Hurley starts to find range, bending into sweeping potshots on the face as Cat starts to catch. BELL GOES WOBBLY BUTT! Liz beating Bell to a series of licking lefts and rights beats bell woozy and slugs her off the ropes--crowd roaring as the fight spills around the ring--both girls breaking down desperate to hurt one another. Final minute, Bell steps back and snaps off a vicious short shook, all shoulder, catching Hurley on the way in and LIZ STAGGERS AWAY in a daze! Bell mindless, fists at her hips, bludgeons her way into the Brit, pounding Hurley once again up against the ropes and it’s a heartless beat down to the bell--Liz all covered up, turning her side to Bell, trying to slip the worst of it, but Cat’s fists are crashing home to the body and ears. Ref jumps in to push Cat back as neither girl can hear the bell over the crowd. Both women busted up--Cat cut under the right eye, Liz with a lightning bolt at the hairlines.

R4: Dazed beauties flat foot it to mid ring, fists low, eyes hollow--they’ve each done terrible damage to the other in 3 short rounds, Hurley likes the slower pace--she’s able to slink to the right, push that awkward straight left into Cat’s face, then come back over Bell’s shoulder with the right hook on the ear. Cat stumbling, drowsy--she’s getting wrong footed, bamboozled ass Liz routinely scores, then bends away, turning that right shoulder towards Bell, dropping the right hand to her side and slipping easily under Cat’s shots. Midway through, Liz with that left hand coiled, right hand at her side, bends under a lazy cat right hand, then steps into a straight left counter that drills Cat’s head back, spilling the brunette into the ropes, Sweeping follow up has bell crippled from wide lefts and rights to the body--Liz finishing up on a swooning Bell with meanspirited right to the breasts at the break.

R5: Agonizing to look at--Girls hunched up, covering up their vulnerable bodies, shuffling slowly around one another with lidded eyes, bell goes to the body with straight right hands, spearing down and into Liz’s sternum to draw a wounded groan from the Brit. Liz on shot legs, answers with slapping right hooks on the ear, but catches an explosive right hand on her eye--HURLEY IS HURT! Liz clattering to the ropes, hands at chest--eyes blank--Bell guts her with a driving straight right to the body--Hurley crying out, dropping her hands and bell ends the fight with a single perfect hook from her hip. Head snap Hurley--she lolls out on her feet against the ropes then slides peacefully to her side as Cat stumbles to the corner for support--aching KO5 Cat Bell.

After; Long hug shared by both women after this gut wrenching brawl, Cat consoling a shattered Liz Hurley who got utterly used up in this fight. “Believe it or not, that kind of fight was our plan,” a badly battered Cat Bell says in the ring afterwards. “Liz needed to make it about reflexes, I needed t make it about chins and guts, and she wound up fighting my fight. Nobody wants a boxing match with Liz Hurley.” Typical Bell performance, diagnosing the opponent’s weaknesses and adapting a plan to take advantage--Long, long plane trip home for Liz who soaks up one of the worst nights of her life in this one.
