BEFORE: "First, I want to send a big shout out to my stablemate Sarah Carter," A focussed Laura V says in prefight. "She's bendier and better than Summer, so it's like Sarah's my secret weapon in camp and I feel I'm super prepared for this fight. I know that I'm going to have to dig in and fight a few 'show-me' fights to get girls to back off, but that's fine. I think when we look back, we're going to see that Maria fight was the best thing to ever happen to my career, because it's drawing girls like Summer to me. Sort of like a trap!"

Glau businesslike in rebuttal: "Look, in boxing, the rule is you challenge the prettiest girl you feel you can beat," Summer instructs the press at podium. "So Laura's suddenly a very attractive opponent these days. If that's predatory, if you want to call me a bully for kicking at Laura when she's down, then so be it. Laura blubbering in shock on all fours - ref bodying seething Summer away - crowd on it's feet as lovely Laura reaches into ropes to pull herself up! Vandi blinking away tears, sniveling in pain...she takes a rubbery-kneed 8 and ON COMES GLAU! Sum POURING the hurt to Laura Vanervoort, lashing her right hand buggy whips hard to left flank...poor Laura face-in-gloves, sliding to her right along ropes as Summer pushes left hand on blonde guard to keep her lined up. Vandikins sobbing in pain, bullwhipped along the apron...she's trying to clinch - takes a digging short left uppercut to tummy, then a kissing left hook across chin and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Laura spilling forward, rolling onto her back - she's a frazzled beauty, kicking her legs, trying to thrash to a seated position as Summer scampers to neutral corner. Vandikins pulling herself up ropes again...camera catches Sarah Carter seated bolt-upright, hands at her mouth, eyes wide open as poor Laura rallies herself! Final minute, Summer swaggers in all bully - going to town on Laura's lissome waistline RIGHT/LEFT/RIGHT! Sum wide and lashing with her shots, twisting on her hips, getting her back into it...RIGHT UPPERCUT, LAURA VANDERVOORT! Summer shocked upright, heels skidding forward...Laura puts the hook on top and SUMMER'S ON HER BACK! Crowd goes ape-shit...Carter jumping up and down...Laura looming over Summer, seething down as blinking Glau tries to stand. Summer beats the count knock kneed - SHE'S hurt, LAURA'S hurt...girls flat-foot together, fall into one another's arms, lanky-wrestling each other to ropes at bell, whereupon ref has to pull apart wet, trembling mass of ass-kicked girl!

R2: MUCH calmer, more nuanced second following Summer's first round bid to end it...Glau in wide stance, featuring the up-jab off her hip...Laura in earmuff, blocking poke on her guard. Sum cute here - circling clockwise, jab-turning Laura, then stepping in close, snugging her left shoulder into Laura's face or breasts. Sum: right hand high at her cheek; left shoulder smothering Laura; weight on back (right) leg. Vandikins crowded here, lapping her fists at Summer, but left hand is blocked by Summer's right mitt; right hand blocked by Sum's left elbow. Meanwhile, Summer all bendy in the pocket, leaning back or dipping on the spot, letting Laura flail away, then nipping her short, chopping little right hands to cheek or jug. After a few moments, Summer will shoulder-bump and disengage, loping around her blonde and resetting behind the jab. Shutout points for Glau as she opens up a nice early lead through 2.

R3: Laura settles down, offering a mirror-image look to Sum this round. Blonde in wide stance, showing the limber, snappy-quick up-jab from hip, stepping clockwise, then edging in to snug her left shoulder to Summer's face or breasts. Now it's blonde girl smothering brunette, being cute in the pocket as Summer flails away, then placing precise, choppy little right hands jug or chin. Laura disengaging via shoulder-bump and loping off...all that work with Sarah C obviously paying off as Vandervoort uses Summer's own arsenal against her through 3.

R4: Clockwise, leggy rotation: girls scowling prettily, lips curled off teeth as they circle outside. Limber up-jabs off hips; sliding, greasy right hands straight off shoulders - girls just trying to lean in and touch each other stiff from outside. Stepping in close, fighters will now rub left shoulders together, initiating a cutey-pie stalemate in the pocket...almost impossible for either to land right hands up top as the other just dips to her right all bendy. Tactical, leggy stuff goes to Summer on the strength of the odd slinging sidearm buggywhip right hand taking Laura above the left hip...wincing blonde girl complaining of back-punches as a result, but ref won't hear it.

R5: Similar loping, lithe ring roaming - girls leaning in and out on each other, then stepping in to rub left shoulders and play hide-and-seek in the pocket. This time, edge goes to Laura as she manages to find a cuffing hook across Summer's breasts as girls are disengaging...Glau unhurt, but unable to answer these clouts. Bell: girls exchange frowns and pouts, bodies pinking up nicely from abuse.

R6: Summer stitch-quick from the outside - selling "jab" but bringing a springy lead right hand instead...she's catching Laura on the mouth, sending her staggering back on her heels all startled. Midway through, Laura shying along the apron...Summer menacing her lanky...Glau moving her hands in distracting patterns, then dropping the slap-chop right atop Laura's breasts, spanking a yelp from blonde, then sweeping a limber left uppercut across Laura's chin and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Laura belted back into ropes, then dropped to all fours...she's a trembling, blubbering beauty again as Summer's getting into those supple blonde legs! Glau jogging to neutral corner, beaming...poor Laura struggling up canvas again, shabby with hurt! Rest of the way it's Laura face-in-gloves, butt-on-ropes, stooping forward as Summer steps-to and lashes blonde flanks. Fans of Vandikins cringing in seats, biting knuckles as heartless brunette bends her back to drag lanky rights and lefts into punished blonde ribs. Bell: Laura blinking away how-could-you tears, legs trembling. Summer forcing brutal eye-contact: she put the shellack to Laura that round and both girls know it!

R7: Summer continues to bully Laura, going at the blonde as Vandikins sags into ropes, face-in-gloves. Glau baring teeth, bending her back into hateful right hand wallop to flank and hip, her left hand pushing at Laura's guard, keeping her prepped. Minute mark, Vandervoort suddenly lashes back, timing her stroke as Summer's fixin' to strap another right hand in...punch takes Summer on left ear, CLUBBING HER TO ALL FOURS! Laura all bruised and resentful, stooping forward to shout at Summer - ref bodies blonde girl off as achy brunette climbs ropes in shock! Summer's turn to hurt: SHE forms cringing face-in-gloves against ropes, suffering as Laura steps-to and works. Blonde's blue eyes absolutely pitiless as she strokes away - lashing Summer right/left in thick, strapping sequences to numb brunette legs. Glau sobbing out into her palms, occasionally reaching under Laura's arms to tie up...blonde girl too strong tummy-to-tummy, wrestling Glau into ropes and pulling free to continue to continue the assault. Bell: such ass-kicked pouts of resentment exchanged! Ref edging in-between, just in case.

R8: Girls flat-footed, at range, stroking away wide lefts and lanky rights. Sum's sweeping left brushes Laura's lips, startling her...while blonde girl's flinching, brunette leans in a lashing overhand right, pounding Laura hard upside the head! Vandikins staggers to her right, eyes blinking, lips parted...then she stumbles to haunches and hands! Summer lifts mitts and stands over Laura, taunting her - ref pushes lithe brunette bully away as poor Laura tries to get off her buns! Swaying 8 at the ropes for Vandikins...she's in tears, nearly ruined at this point, leaning against ropes for support as Summer wades in. GLAU LASHES AWAY AT LAURA! Vandervoort in misery - butt in ropes/face-in-gloves as she bends forward and back, suffering Summer's wrath. Glau: teeth bared, limber torso generating lithe, twisting leverage on sleek, slinging wallops to either blonde flank...it's Summer taking Laura out back the woodshed, looking to finish. Gut check for Laura...she sponges it up, beaten ragged by the bell...Vandikins forlorn, hugging throbbing ribs, cheeks wet with tears as Summer pushes off, looks things over with deep satisfaction. "You should stop this, ref," Sum tells the official.
Laura: "No!" still hugging her ribs, glaring unhappily at ref as he moves in.

R9: Laura hurting, elbows in close to ribs, hands up. Summer comes a-calling - left hand up-jabbing to Laura's forehead; right hand slanting straight down into tummy for satisfying spank. Laura groaning, backing into ropes, drawing Summer forward...Glau hard-hearted, looking to finish with buggywhip right hands deployed up and down Laura's left flank! Brunette reaching her left to measure, then just bending her back into her work, stroking Laura righty with finishing polish! Vandervoort cringing in pain against ropes, soaking up wallop after wallop, then ANSWERING THE RIGHT UPPERCUT! Looping shot picks up Summer's chin, putting her wobbly-butt on the spot. Girls reload, twisting into lithe, rising left hooks from either thigh - simultaneous connection on opposing jawlines sends Laura reeling into ropes and DROPS SUMMER. Glau knocked down to her left, then rolling to her back...Laura swaying hurt on the spot, still showing the hands up guard...Sum all rickety, head jerking up off canvas as she tries to sit up, but she's too hurt! Glau twitching and jerking, trying to get off her back...10 count passes her by and that's KO9 Laura Vandervoort in come-from-behind fashion!

AFter: Weeping Laura embracing Sarah Carter in postfight...Vandervoort nearly going out herself on several occasions tonight outlasts and outhits slender Summer in a bendy-backed classic. "The key was to get her brawling," Laura says in postfight, her left arm around grinning Carter's shoulders on camera. "I know, that didn't LOOK like a very good plan the way she was scoring, but I'm beach-tough and I do have more muscle-meat than her, so we thought I'd get the better of it over time. She's not a big puncher, but when she twists herself into those buggywhips...it hurts! I'm just glad I had more heart - that's what it came down to." Good show of heart from Laura post-Maria, but haters pointing out she was life-and-death with slender Summer...sharks still circling in Laura's waters, looking for opportunity.
