Gena Lee Nolin v Cat Bell (results: simguy; words: simgrrl)

Before: This is a well made bout - both women past their prime, but still high quality fighters; size-appropriate; longtime FCBA participants...with not a lot of love lost. There's certainly plenty here to give fans the expectation of fireworks with little reason to think they'll be disappointed.

Gena Lee the 'young woman' in this contest (by almost three years); Bell the bigger/heavier (by an inch and 4-5 pounds). Speculation pretty much evenly divided on the effect of wear and tear over their long careers. The younger Nolin has had 20 more fights and the results favor Nolin - she's won 21 more fights than Bell...knocking out opponents in 64% of her wins, compared to 42% for Bell. So GLN is younger, stronger, more experienced...

...and GLN's made no secret of her disdain for "the pussyCat" for years. "Bell's ducked, run and avoided me at every turn....she and her galpal 'TheOne.' They're two of a kind; lots of big talk but afraid to back it up in the ring. I can't wait to expose her...then her girlfriend!"

Bell dismisses Nolin's "challenge" with a toss of dark hair. "Gena Lee's a modestly talented bimbo," Cat says with a dismissive shrug. "Sure she can knock people out - but only after pounding their trunks for several rounds to soften them up. She's never beaten a fighter of comparable size head-to-head without resorting to fouling. There's more to 'the sweet science' than just winning; you get a lot more credit for good sportsmanship and fighting fairly. I don't think Gena Lee's ever realized that."

Perhaps 'Tractorpull Magazine' analyzed it best when they wrote: "Unfortunately, Bell is well on the down side (of her career)." Adding "...Nolin has not lost the ability to foul in every way possible - and probably in some ways that are not possible. Bell will be unable to prevent Nolin’s violation of the rules" when predicting Nolin would win the fight "...by a KO." Most other respectable publications, on-line sites and bloggers agree as Nolin comes to the ring tonight a prohibitive favorite.

Attire: Nolin in leopard print push up bra and matching boy-cut bottom with leopard print high tops; blond hair loose and long. Bell in her "JAG" blue bikini - showing she's still got the figure; longish dark hair in a pony tail secured by a scrunchie; plain white high tops. Red gloves for both.

During: R1: Nolin out of her corner quickly, boring right in on Bell who circles left, pumping out a firm, rangefinder, jab. GLN shrugging it off, jumping in to belly up on Cat as they wrestle up top; glutes bulging; all taut thighs, planted feet and head-on-shoulder as both dig to the flanks while trying to establish control. Bell shoves Nolin back, rips a hook that glances off GLN's right shoulder, slamming her upside the head. Gena answers to the body: hook, hook, and a right high off Cat's tousled head. Cat reverses, moving right; whipping out a right that catches Gena off balance and sends her clattering backward. Bell moves in, catches a snap hook to the bra; overhand right that grazes her jaw. Clinch. More upperbody wrestling. Gena swings Cat around, lowers her shoulder and plows the brunette back into the corner with her arms around Cat's hips, grabbing a couple of handful of glute as she bull rushes her back into the turnbuckle with a head-snapping impact! Her head propped under Bell's chin, GLN goes trunks, bringing a bleat of protest from Bell and a scream from Theron in Cat's corner. Referee backs Gena off with a desultory wag of the finger. Close, hard-hitting round goes Nolin's way.

R2: Nolin outworking Bell who is fighting a tactical fight, trying to pick and poke her way to points while keeping away from Nolin who continues to force the action trying to get her gloves into Bell's softer looking body. Bell putting together combinations; piling up the "pretty points" while it's Nolin grabbing "power points" with loud shots to Bell's body. Cat's abs pinking up prettily as Gena is willing to accept Cat's punishment for the satisfaction of hearing the brunette grunt when she hammers her to the body. Nolin's strategy becoming clear whenever she can put Bell's butt in the ropes: turning her body into rapid-fire, criss-cross, breath-taking, jug mugging - with the occasional elbow or low blow thrown in for good measure. Referee appears to give up on warnings in favor of "lettin' 'em fight." Another close round; another Nolin round.

R3: The pattern's well established now: GLN initiating the action, Bell looking to counter. Gena Lee continues to be the aggressor; continues to work over Cat's lush body when she can corner her against the ropes. Bell doing a pretty good job of staying out of trouble, but Nolin able to head fake her one way, then bull rush and drive her shoulder into Cat's chest, shoving her backward to the ropes for some heavy body shots before the referee comes to separate them. Between rounds, Theron and Stone yammering at Bell from both sides until she shuts them both up by covering their mouths with her gloves and shaking her head.

R4: Two-way slugging breaks out! Nolin up-tempoing from the opening bell, ripping with both hands; driving Cat back into her corner. Bell's resistance stiffens and she in turn batters Gena Lee back across the ring. Crowd on their feet screaming as they careen around the ring trading power punches; first one, then the other getting the upper hand. Final minute, Bell staggers Nolin with a huge right; then rocks her with a crisp left hook. Bell has Gena ROCKED late but is unable to put her down. Round to Bell.

R5: Bell picking up right where she left off! First minute sees Cat bangin' Gena Lee pillar to post with the blonde covering up on the ropes. Second minute, Gena Lee with an offensive flurry that's quickly put down as Cat continues her onslaught. Closing seconds sees Bell with another barrage and Gena Lee looks like she's ready to go. At the bell, it's 10-8 Cat Bell without a knockdown.

R6: Action slowing after the furious pace of round 5. Bell a bit arm-weary; Nolin still shocky; both girls content to clinch, clutch and punch. Fans voice disapproval of the slow pace but Gena Lee doing some good work on the inside; putting miles on Bell's aging legs. Cat 'content' to throw over the top; rattling Nolin's molars with cuffing connects over GLN's wrapping arms. Bell fighting in infrequent spurts; Gena Lee beating a steady tattoo to Bell's groin, belly and boobs. Brunette panting heavily at the bell; blonde weary but upbeat. Gena Lee's round.

R7: More Gena Lee. Nolin controlling the slow-paced action; putting her body on and resting her weight on Bell in spots. Lots of clutch 'n' grab from Gena Lee; slipping in the occasional uppie to the crotch; coming up and over with the right to Bell's head or dropping the sly elbow into Cat's cleavage. Breathless Bell forced to wrap up high; giving Nolin her body and Gena Lee's grateful for the gift, taking what's offered. Nolin's tactics bothering and vexing Bell...Gena's outsmarting and outworking Cat Bell as another round goes Gena Lee Nolin's way.

R8: Between rounds Stone/Theron both agitated in Bell's corner; yapping and barking at Bell. Theron kneeling between Bell's knees, snagging her bra and pulling her down for a 'nose to nose' talking to! Cat standing before the bell; bouncing out with renewed vigor; pumping the jab; whistling that cocked right at every opportunity. Back and forth momentum swings continue - or Nolin maybe taking a round off to regain her strength after two draining rounds, getting buffeted. Whatever, it's bell-to-bell Bell this round as Cat slugs her way back into contention after two Nolin-dominated rounds.

R9: Cue Gena Lee comeback! Opening salvo from Nolin rocks Bell in the opening minute and Nolin doesn't let up as she bludgeons the wobbly-kneed Bell along the ropes. Gena Lee working up and down Bell's torso; bending into riveting body shots that have Bell gasping open-mouthed with her head on GLN's shoulder. Big uppercut up the middle snap Cat's head back and DOWN GOES BELL!! Cat's knees unhinge and she grabs Gena Lee around the arms, hanging on weakly as she dribbles down her torso, then topples forward on hands and knees! Nolin whirls away, arms raised; strutting around Bell who crawls on all fours toward the ropes. Referee scrambles to get Gena Lee to a neutral corner as Cat drags her battered body up the ropes to beat the count. Final minute all Gena Lee as she beats Bell's body like the proverbial Inuit ceremonial drum. Bell: Cat hanging onto Gena Lee who struggles to squirm out of Cat's embrace. Stone rushes out to support Bell around the waist as she guides her to the stool. Huge 10-8 round Nolin.

R10: Behind on all the cards, Cat Bell comes out with nothing to lose; firing all her guns...figuring to go out in a blaze of glory...with a bang, not a whimper. Nolin (surprisingly) caught a bit off guard, takes a couple of solid blows before she gets it in gear. GLN firing back with her big guns...a couple of welter dreadnaughts circling with flags flying. Bell's better disciplined in the exchanges, landing combinations while Nolin's throwing a succession of right hands - going for the dramatic KO. GENA'S HURT! A Bell hook rattles Nolin who staggers back in shock. Bell lunging in with an overhand right like the one she put Theron to sleep with years ago! Plunging brunette fire strikes home and Nolin's knees lock as her head swivels to the right. Bell going all in....left jab, right cross, left hook...straight right! Nolin's back hits the ropes, her arms drop to her sides and Bell stops punching, steps back and watches Gena Lee Nolin topple forward, crashing facefirst into the canvas. Gena not moving as the referee drones out the count. KO10 CAT BELL in dramatic, come-from-behind fashion.

After: Cat Bell standing over the twitching body of a demolished Gena Lee Nolin; her face showing wear and tear, but she can't stop grinning. She leans over and says something to Gena Lee, but then shakes her head, declining pleas from her fans to "Walk the b*tch" and turns away, returning to her corner where Charlize leans over the ropes to give her stablemate a big hug and a congratulatory kiss on the cheek.

Nolin brought around by her corner, sitting up in a daze, shaking her head in disbelief while Bell is doing the obligatory in-ring postfight interview. Bell, towel draped around her shoulders is explaining how she "drew Nolin in" for the finishing flourish when Nolin tackles her from behind. Bell thrown forward into the interviewer (Erin Andrews) and both go down in a tangle of arms and legs, the microphone flying away to land with a loud THUMP.

Nolin climbing Bell's back, throwing punches down into both Cat and Erin while officials and corner people scramble to break up the brouhaha!

As they restore order, Theron pulls an angry Cat away, dragging her, resisting all the way; up the aisle toward her dressing room while FCBA pooh bah's berate Ms. Nolin for "unsportsmanlike behavior" while declining to inflict any noticeable punishment.

Later, Gena Lee agitating for a rematch - pointing out, "Hey, I was winning the freakin' fight, for God's sake" - blithely ignoring the end result. Nolin "demands" a rematch but Bell - through a spokeswoman - deflects: "We'll see. Right now I don't think she's earned the right to 'demand' anything
