Katherine has lost her last two fights, but they were against Charlotte Church and Natalie Mendoza, of whom a lot is expected, and the 32 year old singer is delighted that 28 year old Camilla responded to her challenge for opponents. Camilla is a girl thought to have a good future in celebrity boxing, but she’s shown nothing so far to encourage those thoughts.

Katherine always looks good in red, and she’s wearing a scarlet one-piece swimsuit tonight, really looking great with a more toned body since her dancing exploits, and she’s possible overshadowing Camilla in her black bikini top and matching hotpants.

Round 1

The girls are circling early in the round, sussing each other out, and each of them flick out fairly speculative jabs in the opening moments. After a sharp exchange near the ropes, the taller Camilla begins to get through to Katherine a little more, and her jab is becoming the more effective as she starts to rock the Welsh girl’s head back, each punch seeming to tell on her. But Katherine’s not going to stand there and take a boxing lesson from the actress, and she slams her gloves into Camilla’s body, and turns her girl around, putting her on the ropes, then looks for a big hook with her left, but Camilla blocks her, and smacks two good lefts into Katherine’s face, follows with a right cross to the jaw, and now she’s moving the singer around the ring. There’s no letup for either girl, and they’re hurting each other s they both land good punches, with a t the end of the round both faces look puffy, and neither girl’s emerging as the winner.

Round 2

The round starts well for Katherine, and she’s getting inside Camilla right now, chasing her backwards, and landing some good punches in her body, as she works hard to take the speed out of the actress’s legs. But Camilla isn’t going to let Katherine dominate her, and she reverses the treatment, and bangs some tit-flattening punches on Jenkins’ boobs, making the Welsh girl wail a little, but also making her fight back, maybe a little angry at such rough treatment, and she slams a good right hand into Camilla’s belly, which clearly hurts her. Luddington looks a bit sloppy after taking that shot, and now Jenkins is able to get at her head, and she lands some solid looking punches to Camilla’s face. She knocks the actress backwards and sideways, put doesn’t land anything too serious, but it’s enough to give her the round.

Round 3

After receiving a stern lecture in her corner, Luddington is transformed, haunted by the sloppy end to round 2, and she’s reacting well to that experience and to the instruction from her management. Forwards comes Camilla, throwing some really telling punches into Katherine’s face, and she shows power as well as accuracy this time, and she gets in control now. Short, strong punches from Camilla are putting Katherine in trouble, and she wobbles after the brunette slams her in the ribs with a three punch volley of punches, and Camilla can now target Jenkins head, right hooks her to the jaw, then left hooks her to the cheek, and the Welsh girl goes down. This is a quick visit to the canvas for Jenkins – she’s up pretty soon at 5 and ready to fight again, but Camilla keeps hitting her, lambasting the singer’s body. At the ropes, Jenkins clinches, hangs on well, and is stopping Camilla’s assault and escaping a round of punishment.

Round 4

Jenkins has managed to make a good use of the break, having taken her corner’s lecture this time, and she now seems more reactive and doesn’t allow Camilla to trap her. The lovely Welsh singer’s still dazed a bit, and she shows she’s still hittable, as Camilla gives her a good left jab, then a straight right, but she covers up a little better, and doesn’t allow the actress to bully her, stays on her toes, stands tall as she can, and now she begins to answer back with those strong punches of hers. Katherine lands a sharp left hook to Camilla’s body, hurts her, but then takes a right hook to the mouth, then Katherine tries her luck with a left, right combination to Camilla’s face, but she gets beaten back, taking solid, straight punches to her own face, and the constant rapping of leather on her flesh is starting to graze her. In comes Camilla, sends Katherine’s head back with a good left, but the older girl isn’t done, and she tucks back into Camilla’s body, then, in the closing seconds the apparently fresher Camilla shows that she’s still in charge as she tags Katherine with a left hook that has the blonde looking vulnerable, but there’s no time left on the clock this round.

Round 5

A confident, almost arrogant Camilla strides out of her corner with a big grin – she wants to finish Katherine, and feels that she’s now close to putting the battered Welsh girl away, but her opponent is not done yet! It’s actually Jenkins that attacks, and she surprises Camilla with a fierce attack, throwing punches with either hand, taking a couple from Camilla, but shrugging them off, and she again hurts the actress with a left hook to the body, and that’s slowing and weakening the taller girl, and now Katherine finds a way to Camilla’s head while the brunette is momentarily off-guard. Camilla looks totally shocked, and she stays away from Katherine, keeping the blonde at bay, but her tactics aren’t working, and she has to trade with the feisty Welsh girl, so now they go at each other, hitting each other like they want to bust her. Camilla works at Kath’s torso, but Jenkins’ abs absorb well, and she’s not looking at all worried by the younger girls’ efforts. The blonde answers Camilla’s attack, and she sends her across the ring with a good right to the jaw, only to get hit with three straight punches to her face when she follows up and gets in close. Both girls are now bruised around the eyes, and there’s a smear of blood on Katherine’s right cheek, but, by virtue of a strong start, she takes the round.

Round 6

Camilla reacts to the strong round that Jenkins just put at her in the same way she reacted to the second round, but this time Katherine is ready and exploits Camilla’s defensive holes to get her right hooks to her head! Camilla’s staggering after taking a good punch to the mouth, and she looks dazed from that punch, then takes another and Camilla’s down. The actress gets up quickly at 4, but she’s really disorganised, and maybe should have taken a little longer, as now Katherine presses her towards the ropes. Poor Camilla tries to cover, but with Katherine pouring in, there’s no escape for her, and when Camilla goes for a clinch, Katherine crashes a couple of good punches into her face again. Camilla tilts sideways, gets hit again on the chin – and finally goes down! This is a tragic ending for Luddington, crying tears of desperation as she simply can’t rise. It’s over!

This is a shock result for many, and after the fight, Jenkins stroll over to Luddington’s corner, and she pulls her to her feet – surely she isn’t going to humiliate the actress? No, she shows great sportsmanship and holds the still groggy Camilla’s arm up, so that both girls can accept the fans’ applause.
