BBU: SUMMER MADNESS @ THE KO CLUB

Summer Madness at the KO Club kicks off in spectacular style as Lioness Club's Heidi Range takes on BronzedOz Boxing's Isla Fisher. Range demolished Hannah Spearritt in her last outing and has particulary good memories against Aussie opposition as she crushed Emilie de Ravin inside the opening round back in Melbourne last year during the Downunder Boxing event. This still remains Heidi's best win allthough the way she brutally destroyed Spearritt also didn't go unnoticed and has earned the Merseyside blonde a shot at the upcoming BBU title card against Ola Jordan. Subsequently the fight against Fisher serves as dress rehearsal before the title undercard. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Fisher blasts out of her stool, seemingly wary of the blonde threat, closes the distance with a lot of confidence, and jabs to the midsection early. Heidi doesn't look surprised by this charge, keeps the low guard well, has Fisher cracking the arms with little effect. Right cross swings around Isla's nose and a left follow-up nails her on the cheek, Range stops the Aussie shenanigans and pours more shots to the stomach. Fisher leaps back, begins to circle around, looks upset over her fruitless effort but Heidi hassles her without any respite. Single shots to the chest keep the brunette weaving back and forth, she throws some response, but fails to connect in a significant way. Heidi send more shots up high, Isla avoids them, but remains on the back foot, is lucky enough to sidestep away from a cracking hook and don't get herself trapped along the ropes. Heidi keeps the pressure though, throws more shots to the body and Isla looks dejected at the bell, she hardly troubled her blonde foe.

Round 2:
Heidi looked like she was just stretching her muscles in the opening round and storms off her stool to start the second. Fisher's game enough to give her a proper test, cracks a promising low hook to the ribcage, finds a right jab to the mouth and snaps Heidi's head back briefly, but fails to throw more follow-ups and Range whacks her in the ribs with a couple of wide slaps. Isla covers her midsection, but is rooted to the spot, left hook on the gloves, Heidi's on the move, throws a high-tempo effort on the head, looks to crush the brunette's mitts in the proccess. Isla tries to leap back, but missed the boat on that one and cracks under the barrage, gets backed to the ropes easily, Heidi just laying serious leather on her and Fisher's looking very cumbersome even at the early stages of the fight. Low jabs find a hole between the arms and Heidi peppers the Aussie's stomach as Isla starts to moan in pain. Left cross hook nails her on the temple, right follow up on the ribs; Isla's low guard looks mediocre as well as the blonde keeps firing away, landing more shots on the body and completely overwhelming the stranded brunette. Bell gives Fisher a huge favor as she slowly walks back to her stool, Heidi sends her a death stare and doesn't even bother to sit down during the interval.

Round 3:
More blonde aggression; Range oozes with confidence and steps up to the dark-haired foe, laces her in the ribs, flicks a hook up high which snaps Isla's head back. Credit to the brunette, she's not hanging back, some true Aussie grit on hand as Fisher fires a response, nails Heidi between the arms, catches her rack and throws more shots to the head. Heidi weaves around, counters to the stomach again and both girls quickly engage in a furious punchfest in the middle of the ring. Fisher shows a lot of effort and courage, but lacks accuracy, skims of the flesh while the blonde scores the big shots, pounds Isla in the guts, cross-hooks her chin and wobbles the brunette on her knees. Crowd roars in delight as a double left/right combo results in a loud moan from the aching Aussie, mammoth left hook over the top cleans her on the eye and cuts her badly!! Heidi with a low jabbing sequence finally pushes Fisher back to the ropes where she cleans her midsection. Isla's all covered up now, coming up second best in the vicious slugfest, Heidi with mean intenstions, whacks her repeatedly in the guts and Fisher offers little resistance. Single strikes to the head add more misery to the brunette's presence but she gets saved by the bell for the second consecutive round. Range shoves her away as the ref jumps in to prevent some ill-tempered backlash, but Isla heads straight back to her corner and the cutmen immediately start to work on the cut under her eye. Heidi shadow-boxes in her corner, once again refuses to sit down during the interval. Coach Gina Wild nods in approval as she notices Heidi's overwhelming advantage after three rounds.

Round 4:
Time is running out for Fisher to make a serious impression, she avoided a knockdown so far, but Heidi keeps menacing her around the ring. Left hook cracks the brunette's mitts seconds in the fourth a right follow-up nails her around that cut again. Fisher's footwork goes down the gutter and Heidi laces her in the stomach from close distance, couple of solid jabs clean her jugs, left hook over the top reaches the cheek and Fisher moans in pain, wobbles back to the ropes and the blonde piles on with more jabs to the midsection!!! Left/right combo to the ribcage bends the brunette down, left half-uppercut splits her gloves, right hook on the nose follows... DOWN GOES FISHER crashing hard on her side as Heidi punches the air in delight!!! Isla's taken a severe punishment and shakes her head while lying on her side.. right elbow up, tremendous courage from the Oz girl to get up at seven, but her face is swollen badly, that cut under the eye is opened again.. Ref gives thumbs up though... Blonde rushes in, peppers the hapless rival in the jugs, Isla just covers up, looks to leap away from danger, but gets cleaned in the chin with another hook and falls on the ropes... no footwork escape now, Heidi nails her from both wings, hard shots on the ribcage, left uppercut slams the gloves... left jab response from Fisher... right overhand counter whacks her on the cheeks though, arms go numb for Fisher as Heidi gut-wrenches her with another jabbing sequence!!! Isla closes her eyes and moans in disarray, takes an incredible ammounts of shots and can't even force a clinch to catch some respite. More shots to the ribs, left uppercut between the gloves nails the brunette on the mouth and DOWN GOES FISHER for the second time; lands heavily on her knees, bends her head across the canvas while Heidi raises both her arms in the air! Ref prolongs the brunette's agony with a ruthless count, but Isla's had enough and remains turtle-shelled until the inevitable happens... KO R4 Heidi Range!!!

Post-fight:
Powerful display from Heidi who looks more then ready to face Ola Jordan on the title undercard!! The statement was made at the expense of a very brave but somewhat lacklustre Isla Fisher who's willingness to get involved in a furious punchfest with the blonde rival backfired badly and left her overwhelmed and battered much to the KO Club's audience delight. Heidi enjoys the standing ovation she's receiving after this commanding performance while Isla gets an ice-pack to treat that cut under the eye for her troubles and quickly disappears in the locker room. She won't be looking in the mirror for the next week or so since Heidi's punches left her with a badly bruised face, a graphic indication of the fight's undisputed outcome.
