TESS VALMORE

STEWART/ A. SIMPSON This bout got the show off to a fast start and I mean fast start. The geography lesson for Mac took longer than it did Stewart to end this fight. About a minute in, a three punch combination ending with a left hook put Simpson on her back for the count. When I interviewed Stewart after the fight, she claimed she was the top flyweight in the stable. We would hear that claim one more time tonight

SEYFRIED/ MICHELE Seyfried was not about to be outdone by Stewart. At the bell Amanda was very aggressive in punching. She had Michele backing up, but as Mac pointed out was a little sloppy. She quickly got on track and a right hook and overhand right dropped Michele for the count. When I interviewed Seyfried after the fight, she claimed she was the top flyweight at Front Street. I know one way to settle this dispute.

SWAN/ PALTROW The way this fight started I thought we were in for another one or two round bout. Paltrow survived and took the third. That was her high water mark. Swan go back on track taking the next two rounds before hammering Paltrow into a TKO daze in the sixth. It looked to me like Swan was enjoying Paltrow’s helplessness, and took a little longer than she should have, to put the stopping touches on a beaten fighter

PINK/ GAGA I never thought this fight would go the distance. I thought Pink would put Gaga away early. Gaga however refused to trade with Pink and moved constantly. Pink however, was able to take the first five rounds and put Gaga in a hole that she could not climb out of. Gaga did manage to take the next two rounds. Pink salted the fight away in the eighth by winning the round. Gaga now needed a knockout to win and that didn’t happen. Pink won a wide decision taking seven of the ten rounds

ARTERTON/ KURYLENKO Well you can’t win them all. I had predicted that Kurylenko would win this fight. For the first two rounds my prediction was looking good as Kurylenko hurt Arterton in both rounds. In the third, it was Olga who was hurt. Arterton did more than hurt Olga in the fourth. A flurry of punches had Kurylenko in trouble and a left hook and a right on the button ended the fight with Kurylenko being counted out.

SOBIESKI/ DIAZ If I missed on Kurylenko, I hit on Sobieski as I correctly predicted the upset. I thought that if Leelee was going to win this fight, she couldn’t allow it to go the distance. If there was going to be a decision it would be Diaz who would win. Leelee needed a KO. She didn’t get it, but she did get the decision. Leelee got off to a good start and had the lead at the end of five. She had a huge sixth in which she decked Diaz three times. Somehow Diaz stabilized the fight in the seventh taking that round and the next two. The fight was even going into the tenth, and surprisingly Sobieski came through to take the round and the fight.

Needless to say the Wiz was quite pleased with the Front Street sweep of the PPV
